I only got the card to get the sign up initial bonus.  There are much better cards out there that give you better rewards value for your Royal purchases and I can redeem those rewards directly as cash back.

That's because many consumers don't research.  A lot of assumptions that a solo cabin would be cheaper.  A lot of people are unaware of the double points for C&A if sailing in a double occupancy cabin.  Thank goodness for this forum, I've learned a lot!

I’ve no idea what that chart is but I’ve read for a few months now of the transmission being high prior to symptoms showing and people with symptoms testing negative on the Covid rapid tests for a few days after having symptoms.   It’s such a crap shoot….to me it means that people are boarding with Covid, despite what their rapid tests say.

Twice I've been able to use not-yet-received FCC to book a new cruise. They just put a hold on the reservation until you get the FCC, then you call them back and they apply it.

I went on this cruise, plus I live in Europe. Everything on that itinerary is easy (and safe) to do on your own.
If you have any specific questions you can DM me. Going on Wonder again next week (same itinerary)

Tourist trap: all those websites and on-site sellers who sell you 'skip the line' tickets. For all attractions you can just go to their own website and buy tickets in advance. This is as 'skip the line' as it will get and much cheaper. Especially in Rome there are a lot of fake sellers out there. They even show you an ID so it looks like they are 'official'.

Often D+ and Pinnacle will talk about this in the lounge and it's not unusual to hear other frequent cruisers say they won't put anything nice in the free laundry service.  I know I am not alone as someone who has been disappointed by it.  But they do a good job on socks and underwear so not all is lost.  🙂

June 10th arrival of Oasis was one hour late to the port.  I understand the pier was a hot mess between the now later disembarkation and those who arrive way before their assigned arrival time.

Bayonne doesn’t allow early entry from your assigned arrival time unless you fit the “special category”, particular suites, Pinnacle etc..  They call the time and check your set sail pass before letting you enter the building.  It’s hysterical watching people try to enter early and get removed from the line.  The guy with the bullhorn “11:00 means 11:00 not 1:00, your set sail pass should say 11:00 if you are on line to enter”…..sure enough, “that’s not an 11:00 get off the line”.  IF they get it down to a trickle incoming for one time slot they’ll call the next time slot.
As for dropping off luggage, they should be there taking luggage, no one checks your time in regards to that.

I had such an issue getting if for one of my sailings….I finally sent an email inquiry, in the interim I got the credit and while on that sailing I received an email reply to my inquiry saying it could not be processed because the stock statement was over 30 days old (it was not).  They suck!  Sorry that happened!

Inserting a comment on safety.  Please realize, like any heavily tourist area that there are pickpockets, bag thieves at these types of ports/tourist areas.  I went 2 bocks down a side street in Marseilles and saw a pile (about 4 ft high) of the contents of luggage and handbags on a corner.  Scattered around it were said empty luggage and handbags.
Even in my fairly quiet suburb/town there have been thieves that take a handbag off the back of a chair while dining or steal out of a stroller.  In Marsailles I watched many people walk through the outdoor cafe that did not belong there, my thought were shopping for easy pickings, bags on the floor, bags over the back of chairs, or distract/ bump and pick.

As a person who does get seasick....I've taken Bonine (Dramamine)-same Meclizine ingredient.  Dramamine also offers a different ingredient option (Dimethly.....sp?)  I forget which is "less drowsy".  I've also heard it said, but never attempted, that Guest Services does hand out sea sick pills......I'd rather have and not need than not have and they either aren't giving them out or ran out!   I start out taking 1/2 a pill and if it doesn't help me I add another 1/2.  my last sailing that method did not work, so I googled to see if another 1/2or whole pill would be ok and it was.  (always check yourself, don't take my non-medical advice).
I've read of the patch, but have never gotten it.
I also carry seabands (go on the wrist) but have never tried them.
Yes on the ginger, and I hear green apples (which you can get in the dining hall since you cannot carry them on) are helpful.
Last thought would be to ask your doctor for an antiemetic. (stop the vomit drug) Worked wonders when I went through chemo, never tried them on a cruise

Pattycruise reacted to She Sails Away in Balance Due E-mail....just to add to my stress level!
Last month on the Allure, there were two couples traveling together in two separate cabins and they had similar stories. They paid for their cruises and cruise planner items in full before the deadline. Then each party got a letter stating that they still owed money and their cruise would be canceled if not paid. One person was able to resolve it after a lot of struggle, but the other party had their cruise canceled despite trying to sort it all out with Royal. They were then guided through the process of re-booking and re-booking all of their cruise planning activities as well, but at a higher price. They were convinced that what happened happened on purpose as a way to get them to pay more.

According to the government website you can be denied boarding...fined..or jailed in covid camps. A least for us lucky Canadian citizens that's what it states.

I wouldn't take a chance arriving without it....if you forget or cant get it done..be safer to STAY on the boat...till all this nonsense is over.

Oh, and keep in mind that they are able to and do track you using the app. So if you do download it, delete as soon as you leave Canada.

I hope its removed soon...its prevented me from booking multiple cruises so far, as I cant financially afford the risk of getting to the port and failing a covid test.

While I see the logic behind your post, I would not be in favor of this myself.  The 2-day-prior testing on your own is stressful enough...I can't imagine having to wait until getting to the port to see if you are actually going to get on the ship.
Personally, I would be glad to see the pre-cruise testing go away.  Normally at this time (< 2-weeks out) I am in full on ready-to-go mode, with passports dug out, boarding passes ready, activities planned and all necessary things taken care of around my house.  Now, none of that is done because I'm not sure I am going on vacation.  If I would have realized the level of stress I would be, and will be, feeling until next Saturday I would not have booked at this time.  And won't book again unless and until the pre-testing is eliminated. If pre-testing is eliminated  and cases rise dramatically on cruise ships, I'll make the call then as to whether I want to go.
IF my family and myself test negative next Saturday morning, I am going to have a VERY busy Saturday and Sunday around here.

Not looking for an argument but stating my thoughts that have been eating at me for awhile now:
So not only would I love to see the pre-cruise testing stop…how about allowing the unvaccinated back onboard?
I have never taken sides and I do not think it is my place to do so.  I am me…and nobody else.
I am vaccinated and boosted (twice) and got COVID for the first time 2 weeks ago after returning from a family vacation to Disney.  There were nine of us and only 2 did not get sick…both unvaccinated!

I think this virus is pretty close to becoming our next head cold or flu.  Some will get very sick…some will have mild symptoms…some will never get sick!  So…….why are the unvaccinated still being penalized this late in the game?
I certainly hope my thoughts here do not start a war on words…but I feel better having finally stated how I think.

Again, my Wife just got off a 7-day cruise on Harmony.  It was so unreliable, I was never able to usefully communicate with her from  home.
The VOOM folks were very condescending with her, and no matter what, it somehow was always her fault.  And the excuses... In the past we  purchased surf but not stream, and when it worked, I was able to communicate via email.  Now, they say it requires streaming also.  So we bought that too.  Still no worky.  And then their next excuse, VOOM is not compatible with Apple products.  Really?
The worker bee searched his computer to declare, "well ma'am, I see you did successfully send some photos on day two, so it must be working".  Therefore, we cannot cancel the remaining VOOM and give you a refund.  🥴

Thanks, I know it's a bit of an obscure question. I really hope it's on the ship, makes it easier than looking for it in a port. I was so freaking happy when we saw it on Anthem last time we sailed years ago before crappy Covid. Thanks for the suggestion.

ugh, was just on the ship and did not look at Hennessy.....if you cannot get an answer here try one of the current sailings either on the Roll Call page here or look for a Facebook group by searching for Adventure of the Seas _________(date)____ and you might be able to get someone on the ship, or going on the next sailing to respond.

Given that you don't set sail until January there are likely to be lots of iterations of various deals.  Your best bet is to BUY IT NOW (or when you see it) regardless of the price.  Then you are insulated if the price goes UP and can cancel and rebook if the price goes down.
For the packages that come with internet and some sort of beverage option (other than Deluxe) there is no requirement that the whole party has to buy it.

The studio cabin was $3012 when I looked at it 3 days ago...
