TheJones got a reaction from Drewww in Settle a debate.... WOW bands post covid
Seems to be one of those inconsistent polices that RCCL is famous for.

TheJones got a reaction from Ogilthorpe in Bottled water question
We just ask for a couple waters at the bar on way back to the room. After a few days we have a nice supply in the cabin

TheJones got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Drink Package
Agree with Waytoo & JBC, Royal has some interesting math based on fictional on-board pricing - book it when you feel its a deal. If it goes lower cancel/rebook. Only negative is how long it is taking to get refunds now.

TheJones reacted to JBC in Drink Package
The percentage off really doesn't matter, Royal plays with that math all the time. Generally anything under $50, regardless of whether it is "on sale" is a really good deal. Oasis class ships seem to be a tad higher, anything in the low $50s is good. The lowest I ever paid was on Adventure and that was $44. I think I snagged in on Harmony 2 years ago for $48 or $49. I am on Oasis in February and I bought it recently at $53, no sale. It hasn't gone cheaper yet, but I am always monitoring my cruise planner.

As shocking as this may seem, I don't think your post is gonna get a lot of action as we've known this for 2+ weeks! haha ?

I did not specify an agent when I recently used MEI. I filled out the website info page & submitted it. I was "assigned" Jacki York & she is excellent!!

Agree - stayed there in Oct & hopefully again in Sept.

He explains it later in the video - food areas & more congested areas require mask.

TheJones got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Arriving early for cruise
I certainly see enforcing arrival times & pushing back departure to limit number of people in terminals
-
TheJones reacted to twangster in Arriving early for cruise
Possibly delay departure times as well so there is more time to spread out check in. Instead of sailing at 4pm, sail at 8pm and enforce check in times to avoid a spike early in the day.

I think that it's almost a given that they will start doing this.

Home2 is a very nice hotel near the Newark airport. We stayed there and it is brand new and very friendly.

I disagree as well. You did not sail, so no points. Book a replacement cruise & you will get the points then.
Now getting extra points by taking a FCC is a win-win for both cruise company & cruiser.

TheJones reacted to Spang1974 in Update from Royal on FCC and Refunds
If RCI cancelled your cruise they will will change your FCC into a refund as long as you apply by a certain date.
• You may request a refund and you’re certificate will be deactivated. You must request your refund by:
◦ December 31, 2021 for sailings departing March 13th – May 11th, 2020, plus Alaska sailings departing May 12th – June 30th 2020, Empress of the Seas June 1st, 2020 & June 12th, 2020 sailings, and May 2020 Voyager of the Seas sailings (excluding May 25th, 2020 sailing).
◦ December 31, 2020 for sailing departing May 12 – June 11th, 2020.
This only applies to RCI cancelled cruises, not if you cancelled yourself.

TheJones reacted to AnnetteJackson in Update from Royal on FCC and Refunds
They have learned as they have been processing these and yes those done with the form are coming back sooner than the first ones because refunds can be done now and are not lost in all the other forms of cancellations.
Also, on the statement about business days. That is my add in as that is what they tell us when we call in to cancel. Most companies will tell you days based on business days. While the call centers are open over the weekends, not all departments works those.
I get that this is frustrating and I am hoping that knowing some of the reasons why on the back end help calm everyone down a little. This is just like the process for unemployment, applying for the small business loan, etc. there are tons of people and no one was ready for this amount of traffic - no one saw this coming.
