Summary:  Sleep does wonders
I am sorry for taking until the third day to update my trip.  I have taken a 2 to 3 hour nap every day.  I have also got 8 to 10 hours sleep every night.  I have kept my alcohol to one drink a day and drank lots of water.  I have not been doing lots of the events (trivia, game shows...) that I normally do.  Now today I feel like a real person.  I figure I was on autopilot and was going through the steps.  Now do not get me wrong, I was not doing my job or coaching subpar, but my entire life revolved around work and water polo.  I have gone 4 days without working and I have not done that in a lot of months.
Now I would like to give you some advice from someone that knows nothing.  Break your routine up with something different.  If you are working make sure you take a weekend day and get away and do something you normally would not do.  If you are retired make sure you break up your routine.  Go visit your family that you have not seen in a while.  Go someplace that you would never go by choice.  Take your spouse on a real date (drive in theater and make out).  The main idea is do something to break your routine up.
now on to the ship experience

I will be creating a Cabin review video in a couple of days.  I will post it on this blog but until then I would book this cabin in a heartbeat.  

Summary:  Edge Single Stateroom with Infinite Veranda
I am not going to talk much about the ship tonight because I have not had time to explore and experience.  What I will talk about and show pictures is my cabin.  I have got to spend time in my cabin and get a good nap this afternoon.  I have an Edge Single Stateroom with Infinite Veranda.  For a solo cabin it is very big.  The only thing it does not have is a couch.  I do have a balcony in the room that opens the room up.  Celebrity is an upscale cruise line, and you can tell that by the cabin.  I have 2 USB plugs next to my bed.  At the desk is a box with 3 different power plugs and 2 USB plugs.  The bed is nice and sleep well.  I want to take the pillows home.  They are big enough and are schrunchable.  Later in the cruise I will be creating a Cabin Review Video and will share it with you.
Note:  The nap helped, and I am starting to realize my funk is caused by being overworked.  I have done 6 months of 60-hour work weeks and the last 3 months with 25 to 30 hours of Water Polo coaching on top of that.  I think I am just tired and need this cruise to decompress.


 

Just wait until you board the ship and grab your first drink @Traveling Mike.  The atmosphere will be different than the daily lead up and your mind and body will find that place in your spirit that has lead to your many cruises.  You'll remember why you do them and have the excitement of what looks to me to be a really sweet 3 week journey.
Now that you've posted here though, I am excited because this is essentially a contract for you to blog your experience and share it will all of us!

Last night was the first time the passport scan worked for me! It's never worked and always had me input the digits so I usually skip that piece as well. However it was easy peasy since it scanned quickly. We always take our headshots too, a couple days after check-in, but every.single.time. the gate agents rescan us. I'm like helloo.....that was a fabulous kitchen picture of myself 😭 Instead they make me take off my baseball cap and it's #cruisehairdontcare

Sorry about that. Too many drinks down at schooner. Lots of flights up to deck 17. Was taking a quick siesta. Security let me know that the elevators are open 24/7. 

We arrived to the parking garage at 9:30 and dropped bags. Literally zero interruptions from the car to the playmakers bar at 10:15. 

Onboard with a beer in hand by 10:15am. This is a record for us. 

Something I don't ever think I've said on a cruise except when waking up in the morning.

Made it onboard...I have the drink package this cruise. It's been a looong time since I've had it. Usually I just stick to my D+ drinks and casino drinks and that gets me through just fine.
But here's to happy sails

..and happy Black Friday sales that I get to avoid. I will be just hanging out and catching some views.

Not that I will have any inheritance to leave my children anyways, but if it’s between me cruising in my older years and them getting left the money that I worked for, cruising wins out hands down!

I had my 45 day check-in at midnight for Allure in Dec. Scored a 10:30am check-in window! Then I got way too excited to go back to sleep, I was already thinking of my packing list. 🤪

@CruzOnBye Nov is a sort of shoulder season month, so those prices are still high. I can only imagine what the July-September prices will be, not to mention the inaugural.

I was bummed nothing but the drink packages were available to purchase for my Sept 2024 Utopia. I guess because my planner doesn't show restaurants or excursions yet so why would it. Hopefully I can get a 4th of July sale or something for that cruise planner once everything loads into it.
