I would ask them about the repricing.  Most travel agents/agencies will do that, but I would find out upfront as we had one that did not.  The reason they are able to give you the discounts, etc is they have created a group and it gives them certain perks to use.  They may or may not be able to change pricing once you are assigned a stateroom.

Also, make sure the new agency you selected follows Royal's policies and does not charge their own additional fees/penalties for changes/repricing/cancellations, etc. They get paid by the cruise line, should follow their policies/guidelines, and should not charge you for their normal/basic services.

If you're already Canadian, then really the only thing I'd be concerned with is any repricing opportunities since ACV is likely a wholesaler of group rates.  Actually that's not that huge of a concern since prices haven't really gone down much lately.

Catching a flight at 11:45 out of MIA is okay even if you don't have TSA Pre✅.
Try to be off the ship by 8:30 a.m. at the latest.  There will be taxis waiting or (you won't have to wait very long for a taxi) outside the terminal and you will be at the airport by 9:15-9:25 a.m.. Even without TSA Pre✅ you can check-in, tag your bags and get through security and still have plenty of time to spare.
If you are flying domestically within the lower 48 most airlines usually don't start boarding until 45 minutes before departure on larger narrowbody aircraft on small narrowbody aircraft boarding will commence 35 minutes prior to departure. You should be through security by 10:25 a.m. which gives you at least 35 minutes maybe more to leisurely stroll from security over to your departure gate.

It isn’t too early. We had one much earlier and we had plenty of time (we were the first group off bc of the suites, but the first walk-offs were very close on our heels). We were at the airport 2 hours prior to our 10:20 am flight. Don’t stress 🙂

january and february flights are almost always insane too because who wants to be anywhere but somewhere warm (for those of us who live in colder climates)??
like the others have said, you should be fine for the 11:45 -- if there is anything you can do to speed the process up (like a TSA precheck or global traveler -- forgive me if i am being ignorant, not sure what your travel equivalent is for canada) this would also increase the smoothness of your processing through security, etc.
even faster option: there are some who can do with a carryon and not need to check luggage -- although for a week long cruise, that is certainly not me 🤣 but this would certainly cut down on your wait time, esp because you will be traveling internationally and there is typically a 3-hour minimum that you must be at the airport ahead of time.
we have the 12:25 out of miami and i remember being there last time with a ton of time to kill and sitting in a super outdated terminal while we waited for the hours to pass. but better safe than sorry!

We have a flight out of Miami at 11:30am in December. We walk off our luggage and have TSA pre-check. We do fly first class which helps with dropping off our luggage. We have been at MIA as early as 7:45am. Like others said, as long as everything goes as planned it's fine.

You will be fine with a 11:45 flight. Just take your own luggage off to remove one more potential problem.
I'm looking at flights from Miami in January and the difference between leaving befor 8:30AM or after 12pm is $500 plus per person 😞
We will probably spend the night in Miami and fly out early the following morning to save a pile of money. I really envy folks who live within driving distance of ports.

I think you will be fine.
We flew out of Miami in April with an 11:30 flight time. Got off the ship leisurely and took a taxi to the airport. We were at the airport before 9:00 am.
Taxi rides to the airport from the cruise port are a flat rate of $27.
Because it was a weekday, surge prices on Lyft and Uber were a bit more.

Personally, I think you'd probably be fine doing that but it just kind of depends on your tolerance for risk. 90% of the time, that should work with no problems. But if there are delays at the port or long lines at the airport, you could end up cutting it close.

Can you see what Air2 Sea offers and maybe purchase a ticket through them. If the ship is late getting in for whatever reason Air2Sea will handle your rebooking, otherwise you’re on your own.

BTDT and the earlier time should work out fine. You have a better chance of your flight leaving later, March still has weather delays from flights that originate out of the north, than your ship not arriving early enough.

@Castle Cruiser are you flying to Knoxville? We are also flying at 1145 and prefer that because it flies through Charlotte. Our flight was changed in Charlotte with a quick connection but I am not worried about that in Charlotte.

Anything before noon is seriously pushing it. You are assuming that the ship will even arrive to Miami on time, which doesn’t always happen. The only way I personally would attempt a time that early, was IF I was flying home first class and had priority checkin, bag drop off, and security priority. My advice would be to spend a night in Miami and take that 11:45 flight out the next day.

I would normally say noon, but 11:45 is close enough.
I would carry your own luggage off which will allow you to get off asap.

For Miami 11:45 would be fine.

I would chance this as Miami airport isn't that far from port. As long as you are off the ship around 8am you will be fine.

Thanks … lots of helpful things to consider.

We are currently strongly considering trying a cruise on the west coast on the Navigator. With the recent amplification, there still seems to be many of the things we enjoyed on the Oasis class, and the ease of a relatively short and direct flight vs flying for most of a day with a connecting flight is very appealing. That being said, I’m coming to understand that I will need to temper my expectations, and that the cruise experience will differ from the Caribbean cruises we have enjoyed.

Thanks for your thoughts so far. The kids enjoyed the water slides, sports court, laser tag, etc. as well as just exploring, getting pizza or snacks and drinks at their leisure, etc. Some enjoyed the shows but not everyone was keen on all of them. I’m realizing that smaller ships like Voyager still have many of these attractions and offer new itineraries such as the Southern Caribbean. This is opening some other possibilities.

*Adding that I just noticed that Navigator is doing sailings on the Pacific coast which is ideal for us, and so I’m now thinking this is a good option for both a new (and fun) ship that the family will enjoy, as well as a new cruise destination.

Hello, follow up question about planning our first cruise in 3 years.
We have previously cruised on two of the Oasis class ships, at the time, each was the newest of the class. Had a third planned on of the original Oasis ships, which was cancelled early in the pandemic. We have done both a Western and an Eastern Caribbean cruise. Sailed once from Fort Lauderdale and once from Miami. The kids really enjoyed Miami but we also had a little more time there to do things.
We would like to do another Caribbean cruise, and know how much we have enjoyed the Oasis class. It really seemed to offer something for everyone in our group of 6, and the ship is a destination in itself. Now I’m considering what to prioritize in choosing our next cruise … there are now options out of Galveston and Orlando, as well as Miami, but the best fit for timing would mean either a repeat of ship or some of the same ports as previous trips. We haven’t been to Coco Cay … is this a must do? A couple of the itineraries have both Coco Cay and Labadee.
What do you prioritize when booking subsequent cruises within the same region of the world? If we like Oasis class, will we be disappointed with a different class of ship even if it offers new ports to visit? (I know this is a personal preference but would like to hear your experiences.)
