Nope....nothing til at least May/June....if you want to play it safe..I say Fall of 21 probably
Don't want to say i told you so but..lol
So Cruises cancelled till May now and I am guessing that it would be 90 days after that before they could resume regular sailings.....so fall at the earliest now really.

It's a tickbox further on towards the end of the booking process now. Maybe they hope people wont see it.
Never have seen it..and I have done about 100 mock cruises in the past year on this site.....perhaps its not available for booking through the Canadian site. No matter what, it seems like its a sticking point as well for many new to Royal or first time bookers.
Perhaps someone who knows where/how it is should post a screen shot or step by step directions how to choose that option.

So we are at May now....and its Jan 7th.....at this point summer cruising is probably not going to be an option.......

Social media and cell phones have certainly helped out the little guy against big business, politicians, law enforcement etc.......
Pretty hard for Royal to lie to you or accuse you of lying when you have recorded proof from their own website!!!....lol

This is well known about Royal....most here seem to turn a blind eye to it and justify it one way or another or just tell you that's just the way it is.
I agree, it is VERY shady and unethical in my opinion..by NEVER setting a base/starting price there is no way to legitimately hold them accountable or fairly compare or explain their "sales" and "discounts"......

Huge difference on those things every single time and or day you could check to be honest.
It NEVER stays the same.......even for the same cruise you have booked it could change 100x before you cruise.
-
Keep pushing the dates out.....moving the goal posts down the field....or kicking the can down the road.....
This has been happening for a year now.....dont book or hope for anything before mid summer and probably fall/winter to be safe at this point.

I would move to Florida in a flash if I wasn't Canadian...cant get in! :(.....now if I went to Mexico and could climb a wall I would be all set.....sad you have to break the law to get in really.....
If anyone knows how I can do it legally...let me know!..lol
To keep this on the cruise topic....I would be diamond plus by now and well on my way to pinnacle if I could live in Florida!

One thing Royal could do is make it alot easier to choose a refundable option on their booking screen...they charge WAY more for it...but I bet 90% of people who aren't familiar with Royal or with cruising don't know or even see that option....i mentioned on another post I visit the Royal site and this site almost every day and I cant see or find how to get pricing for the refundable cruise option.....hence I don't book anything on the Royal site for cruising!
-
Lots of glitches with their website...we all know that. I still cant figure out out to book the refundable option and they changed that a year ag or more?..I don't book much with Royal directly as there are WAY better deals through other travel sites to say the least!!
Sorry this is a tough first experience with Royal (and probably your last if what you are saying is true)......

Going to be interesting to see how it shakes out in the long run ... down here in Sunny Florida the only thing that isnt already open for business is the cruise terminal ...
The way it should be!....here in Canada, the provinces with the tightest lockdowns are in the worse shape and continue to be....lockdowns don't work..they just hurt people financially, mentally and emotionally...
-
At this rate of vaccinations, all travel companies will be bankrupt and cease to exist current vaccination rate here in Canada is 10 years to have the country vaccinated(based on the lack of progress in the first 3 weeks we have had the vaccine)....what a joke..lol

Well I get that...I don't venture past the first shop at the Labadee market and i only go that close cause she wants to "look around and shop"...lol
I only started cruising in 2013...so it hasn't been that bad at Nassau...still have to say NO a few times, but I can handle 30 seconds or so of that to get out and do my own thing.

1. Get off the ship in Nassau
I always wonder why people have such disdain for Nassau.....
I mean its one thing to stay on the ship cause you have so many fun activities planned, its pouring rain etc.....but to simply refuse to get off the ship because its "Nassau" has always bewildered me....
I have enjoyed Nassau all 10x or so I have been there!

Try to avoid cruises that have a large charter group if possible...can greatly influence the vibe on the ship!

While the rate posted is .79ish and doesn't sound so bad..it actually costs us 1.33 CAD to get 1 USD...so we are still losing over 30% on echange....it hurts......Americans don't know how good they have it when it comes to that!!
That cruise for $699 is over $900 Canadian with exchange....the drink package at $55 a day is almost $90/day cad with the grats added in....
I would always only tip in American....we do that no matter where we go...cruises....south...resorts etc...only place we don't is Cuba for obvious reasons!
-
I have a bunch of these PVR'd that I watch from time to time when I am missing cruising.....great shows!
Good thing I already have that one saved so I can watch the more important thing on TV tonight..... Georgia State run off tonight.....that will defn have an effect on how quickly and easily we can start cruising imho!
Oh yes...and watch Team Canada beat the USA at the World Juniors too this evening!
-
Yes..with the total suspension of cruising till April now....then they have to set up some mock cruises to get approval...and then they can slowly start to roll out cruising with very limited #'s and full of restrictions. And then if course if there is an outbreak or two when it does resume, watch out!
Nothing is going to happen before the fall at the earliest..and that's assuming there are no issues or complications with the vaccine or the roll out(already is) and no major shifts or changes with Covid in the population(which already appears to be happening)
Cruise industry is sunk for 2021 to be honest....its going to be a tough go for any cruise company to stay afloat for ANOTHER 12-18 months before "regular" cruising happens imho.
-
Pretty much in line what i have been saying...and I am not a cruise expert...

On October 30, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order, a roadmap for the steps the CDC will require for resumption of cruise voyages in the U.S. We will closely review the order and continue to partner with global and domestic authorities, including the CDC, to chart a path forward.
We have extended our voluntary temporary suspension of ALL voyages through March 2021. Previously, we had announced the suspension of cruises on all ships except Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Escape, and Norwegian Joy. Today, we have added those three ships to the list of cruises suspended through March 2021.
No surpirse at all.......
Wash....Rinse....Repeat......
This has been the story of the cruise industry..keep cancelling for 3 mths out at a time or so.....wont be the last one we see I am sure.....perhaps after the next one that will take them through June of 2021 it may start to change...as in ONE ship trying to start back from the fleet...but even that is iffy at this point based on the past and where we are currently.
A little good news at least...
