Same story here. We had a slightly longer 5 1/2 hour drive from Central NJ to Ausable Chasm, NY to see it, but the 3 1/2 minutes of totality was absolutely indescribable. I got one picture (which doesn't remotely do what was happening justice), then we all just soaked it in. Luckily we stayed in Plattsburgh, NY the night before and after the event, so when it was over we got to go north a few miles while the rest of humanity went south on I-87. It was a good choice!

I’m not old yet, but I’ll be 75 in 2045. While that’s not old either, I’ve abused my body some over the years. I might not be very spry.
I’m glad I had the opportunity to be in path of the eclipse this time around.

Haven’t heard of any such package. The port is very touristy and the drinks aren’t all that cheap. Not expensive, but not cheap either. You can get much better prices at other places outside the port facility.

Nope! Last time I was there, there was a letter waiting in the stateroom when we arrived with the extension to call to schedule our lunch.
