If you can access your Guest Ticket Booklet on the website (eDocs in the lower right corner of your sailings page) then the next to last page is also your luggage tag. You can just print that page and you are good to go.

CrznTxn got a reaction from Swar in How Would You Rate The Condition Of Royal's Ships
When we first returned to sailing last August the ship looked a little "rustic". Not bad but not the pristine conditions we had prior to the "bug". Saw this on several ships during the first several months. As time progressed they started looking better and better. Our last cruise three weeks ago the ship, one we had previously sailed on, had fresh paint and appeared much cleaner than it was on its first restart cruise. Having more maintenance staff on board to maintain them and time to spruce it up is paying off.

I thought the same but my wife is the opposite and has planned out to make sure we have the correct itinerary for the block award. She has collected Navigator and Liberty and the next one is scheduled for Allure at the beginning of next year. Three ships, three different classes. After that who knows.

For footwear some waterproof hiking boots would be good. I wore mine on all our Alaska Excursions last September and was glad I did with the temperatures and walking we did. Do not suggest tennis or canvas type shoes as they tend to get a might bit cold especially when wet. You can pick up Frog Togg rain gear on Amazon for a good price that is breathable and will keep you dry from any potential rain events. Folds up nice in a bag and will fit over your clothes.

Didn't need the Gortex. The Toggs work great (use them on my motorcycle rides) and the layering keeps the cold out. Layering is important as stated above for the weather changes. Our trip in September was fairly consistent with temperatures in the 50's and overcast with only mild drizzle/light rain at times. Depends early August or late August. We panned for gold and had late Salmon Bake dinner outside and the rain gear helped with the cooler temps in the evening especially with the light drizzle. Remember to take a stocking cap and scarf, they help.

Check-in usually starts now 30 days prior to the sail date. When exactly it opens up is something for long debates. Sometimes it opens early the evening before and sometimes it starts mid-morning on the 30th day. It is usually when the IT intern decides to push the on button to allow us to enter our long anticipated information.

Wake up when I want .... sleep when I want .... lay out by the pool when I want .... eat when I want. Hmmmm I think I see a trend here. Vacations before I was the elected "activities" director and had to plan for everyone else with no one being happy about the choices. Now my wife is happy she can do the things she wants to do, so am I, and I can go off and do what I want to do. We still do a lot together but having choices with no pressure of time is what keeps us coming back, plus the free Diamond+ drinks.

We have no problems with the motion of the ship and have stayed in pretty much every location, front, middle and back, top and bottom. We only had one "noise" issue that was very minor where we seemed to be located below one of the hallways where the crew were constantly moving carts but after the first day we hardly noticed and really did not care. We are at sea 😄 and only spend a minimum amount of time in the cabin. The only request lately is for a room "near" the elevator but not too near. The wife says it is easier to get to and find the room after a "late night" plus it shows off her door art although we lost one of her fancy butterflies last cruise. Guess they needed it worse than us.

We have gone by the "piano" suites on various ships and have heard them playing. We figured they were booked by folks who actually knew how to play hearing the melodious music that was coming out. The latest cruise we were on we happened to go by with the door open while it was being cleaned and to our surprise the piano was playing away and no one was sitting there. Guess that answered our question.

Unfortunately, you run risks whatever you decide. You risk losing the non- refundable portion of your deposit on one hand. On the other hand, you run the risk of fares going up. The earlier you book  usually means the best fares. The problem is compounded right now because inflation is at a 40 year high which means that fares can rise substantially.

My plans won't change. I get basically unlimited casino cruises. I can cancel up to the actual morning of the cruise and I get back all tax and gratuity money paid. Which is all I pay anyway. I know this can't go on forever either, but I'll enjoy it while I can.

Always, always tip when you receive a free drink. It is proper etiquette and you end up getting much better service. We bring a big stack of one's for this purpose alone and the waiters usually come back frequently and we learn their names and speak to them by name when they come back around. Makes for fantastic service and we let them know when we are coming back for another cruise and they look for us and the service is phenomenal.

For our Christmas cruise we took battery operated small LED light that we put on the door with magnetic hooks with a Christmas tree. For Thanksgiving we decorated the door with turkeys and for Halloween I walked around all day with a T-Rex head on (with a long flexible straw for the dino drinks) and the ship had a costume party that night where many guests really went all out in the costume department.

We have been cruising every month since last August and ALWAYS have a printed copy of our documents. The folks checking us in have thanked us every time and we have breezed through to the ship while other were fumbling through their phones. Do not get me wrong, I have all the latest high tech devices and am a big techie for work BUT after poor WIFI at the terminal and swiping through multiple screens I discovered it was not me with the issue, it was the person checking us in. These folks were looking for the PRINTED COVID negative test result to highlight it with their marker and they just could not do that on my phone screen (snicker from the old days of "whiteout" on the computer screen). The next person that was checking us in was looking for that highlighted page and we had to start over and go over everything again since it was not printed out. Now we have it printed and organized and we almost do not stop walking during our check in from start to finish.
