  1. Fron Royal's Terms

The minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on Royal Caribbean International®
ships, it depends on the location of the ship at the start of the cruise itinerary. For ships originating in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and South America, the minimum drinking age limit is eighteen (18). For ships originating in North America, the minimum drinking age is twenty-one (21). At private shoreside resorts such as Labadee and CocoCay and when in US & Canadian ports, the minimum drinking age is twenty-one (21). We reserve the right to vary minimum age limits without notice where local laws require or where we deem it desirable or necessary. If a guest reaches a birthday that will change their adherence to our alcohol policy, they may visit the Guest Services Desk and on showing their passport as proof of age, their records will be updated to allow them to purchase and consume alcohol.

So sail from the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand or South America, anywhere but North America and they'll be allowed to drink 🙂

I was on Explorer in June, and had the privilege of visiting with Super Mario for a few minutes.  Very nice guy!  He should be very close to hitting his 10,000 cruise point threshold.  If I recall, I think he said he was going to be moving to Oasis after his time on Explorer.

We met him a couple of weeks ago and he said he was on Oasis next, for another 6 month stint!! We asked which was his favourite ship, he answered with a smile, "which ever one I'm on" 🙂

According to the UK Government guidance looks as though they'll need a negative test but I would check what your local advise is.

    If you’re not fully vaccinated

If you are not fully vaccinated and are aged 12 and over you must present a negative COVID 19 PCR test, taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas. Self-administered tests are not accepted.

    Residents of The Bahamas

Bahamian residents who are not fully vaccinated must provide proof of a negative COVID PCR test taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas. Self-administered tests are not accepted.

If you’ve had COVID-19 in the past year

If you are not fully vaccinated but have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last year, you must follow the entry and inter-island travel rules set out for travellers who are not fully vaccinated.

    Children and young people

Children aged 1 and under are exempt from any testing requirements.

Children visiting aged 2 to 11 inclusive are required to present a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen Test or PCR), taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas and need a trip created on an adult’s Travel health visa profile.

Children aged 12 and over must follow the rules set out for vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers.

After watching the show in the UK called " The Cruise" which is about Virgins Scarlet Lady, i very much doubt us Brits will be rushing out to book!

In fact if i was already booked i would be on the phone cancelling lol

    It really is that bad!

After the 2nd episode my other half had already decided she would never cruise on any Virgin Ship.

Ray, it took you that long? After seeing the greeter as you board the ship my wife and I said, not for us!!

  5. Just returned from 8 nights on Explorer, the 70's disco night was excellent, Royal Promenade was packed, 2 dress to impress nights, I've kept the Cruise Compasses and will try to share them this week.

We had a fab time, couple of usual gripes, on a sea day if you weren't up before 7 you didn't get a bed in the solarium 😞, my time dining was a mess, no point booking it was quicker to just turn up.

Did get to meet Super Mario, what a nice guy.

Doing some more digging... it appears that we can go to a walk in centre for free in new york and have a result emailed to us? Assume that would be sufficient? Has anyone done this?

We used a MedRite walkin centre in Miami Beach for our recent cruise, cost us $75 each for a rapid Antigen, they would accept insurance payment if your insurance covers testing.

On previous sailings there were 2 separate lines for My Time seating.  One for those with reservations and another for those without reservations.  People without reservations in the "with" line were redirected to the "without" line.

I hope that hasn't changed with the restart.

No still 2 lines, but there was no priority given to those who had a reservation, so couldn't see the point in booking. Just turn up when you feel like it.

Question for those who have an annual policy (and I've looked and can't find the answer).  Once you purchase annual travel insurance, do you have to notify them somehow of every trip you are taking and where you are traveling (and how much you expect to need insured)?  I'm just super confused about how it works.

Not for my UK policy, when we take the policy out we have to confirm the geographical areas we'd like cover and any add on's such as winter sports etc. The we're good to go (once we've listed all the medical bits, the list seems to get longer as we get older!!).

  9. Website still says all vacinated guests must take a test 2 days prior to boarding, can't see any change

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/gbr/en/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise

    All Guests: Required Pre-Cruise Testing

All guests sailing from Spain will need to take one test before boarding, as detailed below. Tests must be supervised with the result provided on a certificate which includes the guest’s name and date of birth. Telehealth tests are accepted, but must be completed with a supervised virtual video visit. All tests are at the guests’ expense.

    • Vaccinated guests who are up to date must show a negative result for a PCR or an antigen test taken no more than two days before boarding day. Vaccinated guests who are not up to date will have a 1 day window to take this test. Kids age 5 to 11 who have been vaccinated may present proof of full vaccination and follow the testing protocols for vaccinated guests.
    • Unvaccinated kids aged 2 to 11 must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than one day before boarding day.
    • Guests under 2 years of age do not need to complete a pre-cruise test.

Seriously, people, THIS IS WHY EVERYONE SHOULD USE A TRAVEL AGENT! (I yelled for the people in the back).

This is also why Royal Caribbean should sort it's IT out, it's not acceptable for a large global company to be cocking up the basics and having such an impact on it's customers. Preparing for a cruise is stressful enough post Covid, we don't need Royal adding to our stress.

True, but they can test and get in and not worry about testing to go home.....if we test positive overseas we have a large expense in front of us in regards to hotel/food and change of flights-  So there are Europeans coming to our country pre cruise and spending tourism$$ (though I don't know understand

why they come in 3 days or more early and risk testing positive before getting on the cruise) and then they cruise.  Personally, I would cruise first, then spend the extra time here and fly home without worry of a test!.

We're due to spend 3 days in Miami before our cruise and are stressing over the pre cruise test (like where to get one), sadly when we booked the holiday it wasn't clear what protocols would be in place, like many we hoped there wouldn't be any and covid would be a distant memory.

I read earlier today that the debut of the newest Virgin Lady (can’t remember the exact name of the ship) was being pushed back, too. Lots of cancellations and delays, it seems.

Yes sadly covid travel restrictions, supply chain issues and staffing are given as the reasons for delaying Resilient Lady
