The third wave will be the wake from a ship sailing out of Port Miami. 

I am right there with you and booked more summer cruises this week hoping for the best!
Spring break and masses going back to air travel this week will tell us a lot in about a month or so.  If the US experiences a spike in cases and hospitalization, the so called 3rd wave, that will cause the CDC to slow down the return of cruising and that could eliminate summer cruising of any sort.  
Time will tell but I'm optimistic we won't experience the 3rd wave like some regions fear.

I plan to vaccinate when eligible.  Mostly so I can travel not only on cruises but elsewhere to countries that will have requirements in place.  Also though the longer we have elevated numbers of new cases the longer big brother CDC will be in my life so I'm going to do my part to get them back into the jack-in-a-box they sprang out of.
The sooner numbers get down and stay down the sooner we get rid of this unwelcome guest living rent free in our lives and by that I mean the CDC.  If getting a vaccine gets the CDC out of my life I'd take several shots if it meant getting them out of my life any faster.

I wish there was a way to track your EXACT cabin category somewhere.  I have had the same experience as Sabrina where you must track the prices of JS in hopes that the higher priced categories follow the trend.  ....but alas, nobody, that I have found, anyway, tracks the exact cabin categories....just the lowest category in a cabin class.  ☹️

Whoever told you that is misinformed.  It is indeed the new policy, announced last week.
Unfortunately, new policies take a long time to disseminate through the ranks at RC.
But I promise you, that you can combine FCCs and travel agents have been informed how to do so.

There is a valid alternative to having more power outlets in the cabin. Rather than powering your phone/tablet directly form the outlet using a wall wart use a battery power bank. These are portable  rechargeable batteries that have USB outputs. They are fairly cheap on Amazon and the higher capacity ones can power a phone for several recharges. It can not only play all night but charge your phone at the same time. I just place my power bank and phone on the table next to the bed.

If they cancelled on you, and you took the 125% FCC, I believed that you have until the end of this year (12/31/2020) to request a refund instead.

With regards to buying The Key... it really depends on how they handle the different classes and the new rules. We have a group cruise booked for April '21 on Freedom and I plan on writing a Live Blog about the whole thing. Could you possibly buy The Key now at the "cheaper" price with the notion that you can always get a refund/CC before the cruise if things aren't being handled to your comfort?

Hopefully it won't be too much longer before I get asked to rejoin a cruise ship, and head back to work. I'm amazed at how much love for the cruising there still is, and it's people like you that will keep this industry alive!
 
 

I had a big issues with getting a refund for an excursion that was auto-cancelled after a lift-and-shift.  I just figure that my best bet going forward is to manually cancel items in cruise planner proactively once I know a cruise is going to be cancelled (or shifted).
