@TeresaMc That's how my 2 bedroom GS happened. Originally was going to do 2 jr.suites, saw the suite was a few hundred more. Three of the five people in the room have never been on a cruise, one has never been on a plane, and my brother has only done river cruises.  A suite is a heck of a way to introduce someone to cruising.

We thought the same thing and also booked a taxi tour. Seems they run around $50-70/hour for four people so it’s not too bad when Royal is charging $20/person for transfers alone. Depending on what time we actually get off the ship, we’re just going to do some sightseeing for 2-3 hours and then straight to the airport.

My husband and I aren't cheap...we're frugal. We always book a balcony (I need somewhere to go in the morning when he's still snoring so I don't fantasize about smothering him ?), but we generally prefer to allocate the rest of our budget to other things.
BUT, we're sailing with friends for their 30th anniversary in January, and we just booked a 2 BR Grand Suite to share with them. I'm afraid that after this, I won't be able to go back to steerage ?

I blame the CDC for this.  Children who are not eligible should have been exempted from the vaccine requirements for a "fully vaccinated" cruise, which is the option that RC would have preferred.
Personally, I don't really care whether non vaccinated people are on a cruise with me, or what the rules for those people are as long as it doesn't affect me.  My only slight concern would be an outbreak amongst the non vaccinated people ending the cruise suddenly - which is highly unlikly if we are testing beforehand.
Cases are dropping all over the country so this may all be a moot point soon.

The RC excursion leaves at 730 and is only 2hrs. In a perfect world, I eat breakfast onboard and get off closer to 830 to 9. My flight isn't until 2:40, so I really don't want to be at the airport until noon.

What is curious to me (selfishly, admittedly) is there isn't a word about Navigator at all, either sailing or canceled. I'm scheduled to be on Navigator out of Miami September 20th and can't figure out from this announcement what that means...did I miss something?

This is exciting but none of these seem to be showing up on Royals website. Hopefully soon.

He’s getting an earful on Facebook lol
“We were hoping and praying that our 7 day July 25th 2019 Family cruise on the Allure would go in 2021 (after being cancelled twice).  We were going to celebrate a 90th birthday, a retirement and a High School graduation.  Michael Bayley - you owe it to all your guests to CANCEL the July cruises ASAP so we can make other plans.”
“Since I was supposed to be sailing on the Allure July 25, I would have appreciated a notice of cancellation before seeing this. Very disappointed in Royal Caribbean’s communication right now.”
“Michael Bayley  wonderful news. A trip we bought in January 2020 was canceled for summer of 2020.  We are on July 11th cruise that will be canceled when you get around to it. And you will be keeping our money for another year being school starts up in early August AND you won't refund our FCC.   Again WONDERFUL NEWS. That makes it
2 1/2 years you'll be holding our money.   Please just give us a refund already so we can go on other vacations with it.”
    There’s a few hundred more...

    Regarding the tone deaf comments....
I don't think anything Bayley did is a problem. In fact, I think it's a public service because we'd know nothing about test cruises without it.
    However....
The fact Royal is the only line that hasn't cancelled July cruises yet is a problem, and whomever is holding the line for some miracle or who knows what is the "problem".
They should have cancelled July a long time ago.  With reduced capacity almost certain, cancelling and then bringing back sailings for rebook later would be the simplest approach.
At the end of the day, I get the cruise line wants to hold onto sailings if there's a chance they may sail so they can actually make some money.  But given what other lines have done (cancelling July), it should have been done at least 2 weeks ago.

I think as ships return to service, they will have to ensure each ship has app support since they need to do the eMuster. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.
