Guest services and possibly your cabin attendant can provide some insight.  Crew from all over the ship participate in muster.  A bartender could be the person holding a sign for B13.  An entertainer could be the muster station leader.  If you see any officer walking around, pose the question to them.  Ship security personnel while you are boarding may know.  Often when you first step foot on the ship there are many crew standing around waiting to answer questions.  They might even be wearing an "Ask me" t-shirt .   
People in the cruise terminal won't know.  They are local contractors who don't work on the ship.

Tip:
When they are about 30 minutes before beginning the muster drill, go find a comfortable seat in a common area on the deck where your muster station is (R Bar or Champagne Bar or whatever it happens to be) so that all of you and your mother can be comfortable. When they begin gathering for the muster drill, go and have your sea passes scanned by the person at your muster drill station and then go back and sit down. Someone can take your mother’s card for her and have it scanned. There’s no need for anyone to stand around outside or have your mother worry about getting around in her chair. Just make sure that all of your seapass cards gets scanned at the correct station and you can sit somewhere comfortable during the muster drill.

This is just my opinion, but to me, there is no comparison whatsoever to the current trend of music cruises where the normal entertainment is given the week off and touring music acts (usually at least 1 headliner and a bunch of lesser knowns) are brought on board to entertain. I've been on three of these cruises, and they are amazing.
The first two were headlined by the Barenaked Ladies.  We were guaranteed 1 full length concert with the band.  We got 2 and several additional appearances and experiences.  At the sailoff show they said the following (or something similar) "We are here with our families.  If you see us with our families, we ask for privacy.  If you see us out by ourselves or with other band members, stop us to say hello."  In addition to that, the band sat for hours for each travel party to come through a line in which a photo was taken of your party with the band.  Each passenger was given a free 8X10 photo.
On top of that was the legendary Barenaked at Sea photo in which some 700 people gathered on the Lido Deck to drop their robes for 5 seconds to create a moment we will never forget (it can still be found on the internet).
Then the best part of all was that we were exposed to some bands we never heard of.  Most of them you might hear for a couple of songs as you walk by the venue in which they were playing.  However, you might also hear something fantastic... and we did.  The band 'Gaelic Storm' started playing on the stage in the casino one night.  I'm convinced, this is the greatest band noone has ever heard of.  I always suggest people check them out.  Crazy talent, amazing stage presence, strong lyrics (drinking songs, funny songs, meaningful songs), and without a doubt the most fan friendly band in the business (they come out to do a meet and greet with fans after every show and are known to have fans on stage during the show).  Great band.  Check them out.  You won't be sorry.

All I was thinking was ... the other day, I misjudged how close I was to the ATM and hit it with my sideview mirror. ? 

I changed my whole passport after I checked in, and nobody cared ? I can't imagine this will be an issue. But, couldn't hurt to call. I think as long as the name matches the reservation, you should be good to go.

mine just said GTY and I got my guaranteed balcony. 

I would recommend getting passports for everyone cruising, including kids.
My kids have passports and it simplifies the process so much by having them.

With RoyalUp, it's impossible to know if there is an actual room upgrade opportunity, but the bottom line is if the minimum bid seems reasonable to you, you could go for it.

That you need to keep checking the cruise planner to get the best prices, and that you can cancel a sale and repurchase if the price goes lower (sometimes only for a few hours).
 
 

oh no! Kids under 5 are not allowed in the bunks as a general rule. Up to you if you want bypass that, but our room steward was adamant that my 3 year-old son not sleep in the top bunk. Hopefully it's a pull out bed!

It depends what kind of cabin you booked. Check your deck plans, and use the symbol next to your cabin number to see if it's 2 pullman beds (bunks that come down from the ceiling) or a pull out sofa. If you have the pullmans, you can put the main bed together for a king size, and then have the 2 bunks overhead. I wouldn't worry about being cramped. If you're doing cruising right, you're only in there to sleep and change.
