Tanner got a reaction from WannaCruise in Odyssey of the Seas Zone Zero Closure
Would not be surprised if they axed this.  While I'll admit I really enjoyed the experience and thought it was worth the money it was not with out its hiccups.  I got all suited up and then had to change to a whole new suit after it didn't work.  That was after staying up until 3 am to book the newly scheduled time slot.  The very limited time slots sold out very quickly.  I was lucky they added another one and that the staff told me it would go live at about midnight......which was a few hours later in reality but it did show up.

Also noticed this on our recent 4 night/3 night back to back on Freedom.  Specifically the three night weekend cruise.  Consumption and possession is legal in Canada but my issue is more with people smoking on their balconies and having to smell it.  I wish these activities could be moved to an area that did not impact others.  If you wish to smoke cigarettes, weed, or scream at the top of your lungs a room located at an isolated location at the far end of the ship would suffice.  Those who wish to partake would have a spot and those that do not would not have to be impacted.

Tanner reacted to Keiffer-b in RCI has hired 10,000 new crew so far in 2022
Royal Caribbean International announced that the company has hired 10,000 new crew members since the start of this year, who have already joined the cruise ships in operation. As of September 2022, RCI reported that there is a total of 34,819 crew aboard its 26 cruise ships, meaning that each 3rd crew member is a newly hired employee.
In order to fill up many shipboard positions due to crew shortages, Royal Caribbean International initiated a recruitment world tour this year.
Recruitment was also advertised in the crew areas on its ships calling up the crew to spread out the word to all friends and family who are interested to apply for the job openings.
It was not an easy task to pull out this extraordinary challenge and recruit so many professionals around the world. All hands were on deck from the company’s leadership to the onboard management, recruiting partners and online applications.
The recruitment dive in April saw thousands of new recruits hired by the company. Back then RCI send its top managers to:
    • The Balkans attended by Amadeo Fusco Traveling F&B Director • South Africa attended by Catharina Maritz - Traveling F&B Director • St Lucia attended by Naomi Celaire - Manager Hotel Operations • Mexico City, Mexico - attended by Andrew Trabosh, Director Operational Excellence • Mauritius - attended by Dominique Gamba, Fleet Director Restaurant Operations • Mumbai, India  – attended by  Linken Dsouza, VP Food & Beverage In May RCI announced that the company has hired 600 crew at the recruiting fair in Gambia attended by Andrea Chessa, Recruiting Manager, Bulk & Hiring Partners Shipboard at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
In June Barbados Tourism Marketing in partnership with the Royal Caribbean Group hosted a three-day national recruitment drive in Barbados, which gathered about 500 people interested to join the cruise industry.
In July over 600 Trinidad and Tobago nationals took to the seas for the first time as employees of Royal Caribbean. Just over a month since thousands flocked to Royal Caribbean's recruitment drives in Trinidad and Tobago, the cruise line has confirmed that 602 candidates have been hired so far.
Hiring new crews is just the first step in the process, however once aboard they needed to be trained in order to get familiar with the brand standards, policies and procedures. This process was achieved with programs designed by RCI as well as the guidance of the ship's middle management and seasoned crew members. The teams make sure every new crew member feels valued, welcomed, and receives the guidance and training they need to succeed.

We were there last month......for what it is worth our cabana attendant told us they are planning on moving the crew/staff area further to the edge of the island and replacing the current crew/staff area where they live with a lazy river and adult only area.  The adult area only has been confirmed.  Everything else is to be taken with a grain of salt for the time being.

I may be biased as I have young children, but I can’t ever recall a time where I was put off or annoyed by children aboard. I can’t say the same thing about hammered adults at the pool who are louder than a lot of rock concerts.

All good points.  In addition, some ships have a deck 13, and others don't.  And the height of a 'deck' isn't necessary the same when you compare different ships.  The high of each deck can be different even on the same ship (e.g. passenger cabin only decks often have lower ceiling heights.  same thing for the deck holding the kids club on Disney Dream/Fantasy.)  The distance between decks can also differ.
It's the same reason "number of floors" in a building on land isn't really a good way to compare buildings.  Distance between floors on a residential high rise building is going to be less than an office building, especially once you factor in raised floors and/or dropped ceilings.  Different numbers of mechanical floors are going to pop up in between occupied floors at different rates between buildings, etc.

Yes, you get vouchers on disembarkation morning of your 1st cruise like any other cruise.
Where? WJ bar, MDR, Cafe Promenade for fancy coffee/ice coffee you can't or don't want to get in the DL, etc. You could also get some bottled water for the 2nd cruise if so inclined.

I'm thinking your kids should each get a free day of internet as well.  They share your C&A loyalty status.  So you might be covered for more than 4 days.

For a B2B, would a Diamond member be allowed use drink vouchers  the morning of disembarkation that would only count for the first cruise, and then reboard later that day and start using vouchers for the 2nd cruise.  Where can you get a drink the morning of disembarkation?

    1. Yes, each person who is diamond will get 24hrs of internet. If you share logins that is effectively 4 days of internet. But be advised it is Surf. I used mine on Navigator and to say it is slow would be an understatement. Indy Surf and Stream isn't that great to begin with, I imagine the free day of surf will be worse. So, plan accordingly.
    2. You will have to re-enroll as each reservation is separate. However, ymmv, as you can ask the host at Adventure Ocean on the last day if you can set things up for the next cruise. Crew members will have access to the manifest and other schedules, so they might be willing to allow you to do it at the end of the first cruise.

My wife and I are Diamond Plus so we've sailed a lot, but NEVER out of Port Canaveral. Is it best to stay in Orlando, or stay closer to the port? What's the best approach to ground transportation? We're not going to rent a car, assume there are many options for shuttles? What's the best approach? Appreciate any tips the community can provide. Thanks!

I think the point of all of this is to give feedback to wait staff during the cruise; be honest when the food is cold or improperly cooked.  It doesn't do anyone any good to save up complaints for the evaluation.  I think the wait staff want an opportunity to fix anything that doesn't meet customer expectations.  But I agree, don't give a 10 if you don't feel you had great service.  One thing I noticed is that MDR staff clean the crumbs off the tablecloth, but this was never done in our specialty restaurant visits. I wonder why not?

That's funny. It was day 2 for us on Harmony 5/29. While looking at future cruises we saw some Harmony itineraries where it was day 7 and thought that was less than optimal. Part of our reasoning was how much we eat on Cococay. I weigh about 10 lbs less on day 2 than day 7, lol. Then again, on the B2B we were there on days 2 and 6 and I don't remember having any issues on the 2nd stop.

We have been trying to get to Coco cay since before this miserable pandemic and we are finally here on Oasis. This could not be better and cooler. I watched, we watched a million videos of this island and none of really prepared us for how freaking awesome it truly it. Kids are having a blast and there is no better value on vacations at all. We will be back here on Oasis or anthem and probably both. This splash away bay is just amazing. The dump buckets are just so much fun. This vacation was worth every penny even with a 7 month old which can be a bit challenging at times. 9 year old is having the time of his life. Just loving this! Loving this!

Couldn't agree more and I have no kids. The beauty of it for me is that it can appeal to so many people in so many different ways.
Kids, no kids, young, old, beach lover or not, pool lover or not, snorkeler or not, loud music lover or not, food over-indulger or not, water park enthusiast or not, spend money on a cabana or spend nothing extra... you get the idea.
We went on a B2B 3 and 4-nighter last month and the double Cococay stop was one of the reasons. It wasn't the only reason but we may do the exact same thing in October.

Love them all each for specific reasons.  I can't wrong with any of them.  Simply selected Radiance to give some love to a class I figured would be lower on the votes.  Most recent cruise was on Serenade (first time on Radiance class) and loved the Exterior Windjammer area.  Amazing!
