I'm really hoping the person you're referencing either misunderstood what was happening (perhaps was thinking of areas with pre-plated items that we as guests are free to grab), misused "self-serve" or is just plain lying because....I don't want self-serve back. I thought I would have an issue with being served and having to talk to staff regularly but honestly it was great; I never felt shafted on quantity and no one tried to rope into a long conversation. Plus...the buffet was so much cleaner!

It varies but I usually tell people to plan on having luggage by 5PM.  

They are not as strict on formal nights anymore, they call it "dress your best" Smart casual is acceptable or jacket and tie if you like.

I do not like to dress up so I usually wear nice jeans with a button up shirt even on dress your best night in the main dining room.  I have seen everything from shorts, tshirt and flip flops to tuxedos and everything in between.  Don't be concerned what everyone else is wearing and enjoy yourself...  Your on vacation!!!  Relax.

Started today.

I can't wait to go back to Labadee. I had a great time relaxing on the beach. Didn't try the food this time around.

The restaurant next to RCL had a bunch of people with luggage while we were eating. Grills has a great breakfast and views of the ship.

While visiting Coco Cay one must choose between chill or thrill. Running is niether of those 😜

I got this email as well on my Feb 12th mariner cruise. Unfortunately my Bid on the Royal Up was accepted the next day so I never found out what their upgrade was.
