Jason12 got a reaction from Neesa in Frustrating phone call
So my son saw that a cabin next us was available at the same price as his single cabin on the Ovation (= more room and double points) so I phone them and after 40 minutes they say it’s $400 more than the price on the website because it’s classed as an upgrade ??♂️ Really I’ve never had that before but they would not budge, so I did a new booking and requested that the old booking to be cancelled under new rules FCC...So frustrating now they need to do more admin than just doing an upgrade.
I’ve done many upgrades never had this before...?

I've got that as well and what i was told is they (RCL) goes off the current price that your room list for now and the rate of the room that your looking at..the price difference is what you pay for an upgrade. That doesn't sit well with me, since the price it list for now is lower that what i've payed for it..why not give the room to me for the difference of what i paid and the new room. I was told that's not how it works. ?♂️
Worst part of it was i couldn't get a reprice since the company that i booked it thru set up the wrong date for final payment and paid it off. I'm still 108 days out from final payment date. ?

If the booking ID still shows up your account after 24 to 48 hours, I would give them a call just to double-check and put your mind at ease. I cancelled a cruise and didn't receive an email for three weeks to find out that the C.S Rep didn't save the cancellation which didn't go through. Per the C.S. Rep I spoke with, it just showed pending status. She hit the "Enter" button and zippo....gone from account and received confirmation.

At least in the US I can say.. yes. It takes a couple of days to a week for the cancellation to show up in all their systems.

Jason12 got a reaction from Crazycruiser50 in New refund policy
No price drops in the UK and Yes I know about the new rules but this only came in today ??♂️

Jason12 reacted to Ampurp85 in New refund policy
New policy does not give refunds but 100% FCC. So you can cancel and apply that FCC to new booking but no actual refund.

We were and always will be foreigners to all mainland Europe ?? we are not that liked ??♂️ We have flights booked for the 1st November just a two hour flight from the UK but might as well be the moon, we have Virgin flights booked to get us home all booked a day before lockdown and paid cash ??

This is confirmed, or what is known to date? This was in your write up:
The amplification aspect of the work to be done is still being finalized, and Royal Caribbean will communicate an update when a plan is in place.
Is that suggesting that there is potentially some portion of the amplification work will be done? That is how I took it since I'm booked in November and that is what I wanted to hear, or is that suggesting the amplification work that will be done at a future date?
