I have to say--- I am really starting to feel like one of you guys..... ???
I have 2 cruises under my belt-- well technically 5- --- 3 of them from when I was a kid and Premier Cruise Lines was around... Recently, I have gone on Majesty and Enchantment. I am now going on Harmony in March.... Mariner in April.... and Oasis in March 2021.
I always check this blog for anything cruise related.. whether it is ship questions, excursion questions, dining, etc. I always use Royal Caribbean Blog as my top resource! You guys are amazing!

We are definitely getting the package.. theres no question about that LOL We will get our moneys worth. When best friends of 25 years have the chance to go celebrate their 40th birthdays--- without the kids and husbands.... we will take full advantage of the free time! LOL

Spent my 40th in Miami and the Keys....I know very well what kind of trip you mean......BUY THE PACKAGE IN ADVANCE!!!  Not sure what amount your credit is, but I would think you wont be sorry.  

You would definitely be better off buying it before you depart and use your onboard credit for other things such as tips, laundry, souvenirs or anything else on board.

Hi. I know it is almost always cheaper to purchase things ahead of time.. but does anyone have an idea about what the deluxe drink package runs if purchased on the ship? I have an OBC that I can use on the ship- that is not available by using the Cruise Planner. I know it varies ship to ship and date to date.. but I was just wondering a ballpark price per day.
And yes, I will get my money's worth if I purchase it on this trip. Its a best friends/girls trip/celebrating 40th birthdays...  yes, it will be that kind of trip LOL

Login to the cruise planner to get the price for current sale.
sale price / (100 - sale percentage) = non sale price.
Non sale price x 2 x number of days + 18%.
That price would be a great assumption of worst case.
Example: $59 a day per person at 20% off for a week long cruise.
$59 / .80 = $73.75.
$73.75 x 2 x 7 = $1032.50 
$1032.50 * .18 (18%) = $185.85 + $1032.50 = $1218.35. (That's for two).
Hope this helps.

Depending on the ship, length, etc it could be from $67-86, including or without the 18% gratuity. I would factor in the higher end amount and see if it is worth it to wait. There are all sorts of things that OBC could be used for such as casino, excursions and specialty dining that might be better financially.

It would also say “obstructed balcony room” when you are booking it. That obstruction is usually the life boats!

The balconies are all above the lifeboats on Mariner, no obstruction.

Somehow they knew it was my bday and they sang to me and gave me dessert.
You could always decorate the room with a little something. Go to the Dollar Store and get a few things.. and get magnetic clips- most of the room is metal ?

If you go to hotels.com and put in Port Canaveral/Cape Canaveral or even Cocoa Beach (zipcodes 32920 and 32931) any of the hotels in the vicinity are within a 5-10 minute drive to the port. There are a bunch of restaurants within the area. Restaurants at the Port: Rusts, Grills, Fishlips, Gators Dockside. If you have a question about the area, you can always send me an email. Me too.-- well sorta, I got more of an on board credit. I started out with none at the time of original booking and after 2 Royal Caribbean "sales"- I now have $200OBC ($100 per each balcony room) I am so thankful for Matt always keeping us up to date on any sales and for the option of repricing  ?
