We have been given the military discount several times and Royal has never asked for verification.  MANY years ago, when I was still sailing on Carnival, they DID ask for verification but that's been a long time ago.

Yes, very good point, but I hate to bother my TA when I'm comparing prices on several different cruises that I most likely will end up not booking anyway (because I check way more cruises than I have the time or funds to go on. 😳)

Since becoming Diamond, we've come to really appreciate the drink vouchers, 24 hours of internet, and complementary photo we each get.   These benefits have tipped the scales for us to book with Royal rather than one of the other companies.  The whole "Loyal to Royal" thing works in our case.
While we are not cruising specifically for status, Diamond Plus is in our sights at our current sailing rate.  We are looking forward to the additional voucher and 24 hours of internet, BOGO specialty dining, and the laundry bag that comes with D+.
 
We've never been able to find a Celebrity cruise priced the same or less than a Royal one (for itineraries/dates we are definitely booking).   Honestly, going on Celebrity cruise isn't a big thing on our wish list.

I am almost always booked through a travel agent and once in a while that link will appear.  My payments are processed by the agency and i can't pay direct using the website even i wanted to.  
Royal IT... the mystery continues.  

I had the same thing happen last week for a cruise that had been paid off for months.  I asked Michelle to look into it for me and Royal had boggled the gratuities.  It is a Star Class Cruise and the grats are included in the price so she had to work with them to get it squared away.  It took a couple of days which sort of surprised me. Seems like that should be something easy to fix. Whatever.  My advice is to get it fixed. You don’t want to give Royal any excuse to cancel your cruise due to nonpayment....especially if you got a good deal on the fare.

Agree with almost everything you wrote and have posted the exact same sentiments about D perks and looking forward to D+ on more than one occasion over the past couple years. 33 days til we can finally enjoy them.

Somewhere around 2018-2019 the former CEO of the Royal Caribbean Group eluded to the possibility that they are looking into closer integration of the two loyalty programs.  
That was around six years ago.
That person is no longer the CEO.
Note - he never said merging the two programs, just closer integration.  
Since then the two programs now use the same looking web portal and share common credentials.  It sounds like the two programs have already finished with the closer integration.  The two programs are running the same version of the web platform in the background and clearly share a password database at a minimum. 
Two and half years with a new CEO and no new comments about merging the loyalty programs from him.
Yet the speculation continues.  

I want to encourage everyone to step back and take a deep breath. 
Speculating is fun but doesn't really change anything.  Regardless of what each of us thinks or wants, Royal is going to do what Royal is going to do.

We’re on Freedom now and the main pool was shut down before we even got out of port due to a child “throwing up” in the pool.  I know this isn’t the same as potty issues but the result is the same. 

I'm not aware of one for arrival.  Really, it seems that would only work if you flew in the day of your sailing and that's just a bad, bad, idea.

We hide (and find) ducks on every cruise.  I'm sorry some folks are hiding them irresponsibly, and I'm sorry some fun-haters are put off by the whole concept.
We will continue to hide them, and if folks are not interested, just leave us alone.  We are on the cruise to have fun.🤩

I still think merging programs is an effort to get people chasing C&A points on the over full ships on RC onto not as full ships on Celebrity.

We just returned from a 8 night cruise on this great ship.
The big question is always food. 
Six nights we ate in the main dining room. Now we are not what you call foodies but we were happy with each meal.  The wait staff we had were great and very accommodating to requests. 
Another night we ate in Chops need I say anymore more. Delicious meal and staff. 
We did the hibachi another night great time and great meal.
For a relaxing breakfast some days try the main dining room it did not disappoint.
Entertainment Hiro again tops the list as a must see. Hairspray although a little long was great. Also the 2.0 ice skating show is another not to miss. The adult comedy show was just that adult comedy.
The crew once again was fantastic friendly and just fun.
Overall a fantastic 8 nights on board. 

$100K and you still have to drag around a Freestyle cup for the soda machines.

The "problem" with resorts is I wouldn't feel disconnected enough. Cruising and being at sea lets me not even remember what I have waiting for me back home, work especially.

Granted, as soon as I step off the ship on the last day, it comes storming back fast.
