nanowerx reacted to Orange Crush in Deluxe Beverage Package
Anything below $50 is a good price, I'd jump on that $46 right now before it pops back up. My upcoming cruise is still at $56 but I'm watching it like a hawk in case it drops. I don't remember what I paid on the Christmas cruise, but I feel like it was around $42. That was my cheapest ever.

Worst case you order the beer, then you order the shot. Generally they are good about a shot with a drink, but like you said, depends on the bartender.

nanowerx got a reaction from Floski in Why no Solarium pool on the harmony?
For the interested, Harmony does have an adults-only pool (the Sports pool), but there just isnt one in the Solarium.

Didn't I just see something reporting that they entire dock area in Nassau was going to be re-designed and
changed at what I'm sure is a huge amount of money? If they can't so something about the crime and
uneasiness, then they're wasting money (and I know that ain't happnin').

nanowerx reacted to WAAAYTOOO in electric outlets
I have also read these threads on CC and one of them, in particular, is from one of the few sources on CC that I trust and respect.
I am an engineer but not an electrical engineer so I can't say that I understand the physics...but if what they are saying is true (and, as I said, in one case I tend to believe them) then you want a multi-plug unit with a circuit breaker mechanism as opposed to a surge protector. Apparently there is something about a surge protector, on a SHIP, that can cause the unit to overheat and even, in rare cases, catch fire.
So...I intend to purchase one of the specific products that this person has recommended. I haven't yet done my research to try and find them but once I do I will see if I can share that information here. I have not been too successful with getting links to post to this site...just like I cannot get my "quote" function to work even when trying multiple browsers. I'm sure it's just me....
Bottom line...if spending $25 (or less, apparently) can reduce the risk of fire on a ship...I'm all about it. If not, I have another multi-plug device. Big deal.

nanowerx reacted to JBC in Pools on Harmony: What are the pro/cons/differences?
I can't completely remember, but one is the kids area and the other two are essentially side by side? There is no pool in the adults only solarium. I don't recall a big difference in any of them and they are all equally crowded.
If it is a sea day and you want to hang out by the pool with some shade, you better be up really early if you want more than 1 chair. I was really surprised that at 8 am on a sea day the majority of chairs with shade were "taken". By late morning just about every chair will be gone, aside from a solo chair in between people here and there, or a few on the top deck in wide open sun. My family likes to enjoy the pool area for most of the day on sea days, but I can't be in complete sun. So I just get up early, before 8 and go grab some chairs and unlike most people actually stay there. My wife will take the kids to breakfast, and when they come back I will go grab something, and then by 9-10 am we are all at the pool for the day, but at no point do we just throw our stuff on chairs and leave. It always amazes me that I will get there so early and see all the chairs around me saved (towels, bags on them, etc.) and people won't show up until 10-11 am, sometimes later. That is so rude to me, but despite what anyone says, it is rampant and very common and the staff don't seem to do much about it. It's my only real gripe about cruising.

Not any misfortune here. They chose to miss the ship. People need to be held accountable for their decisions.
I am sorry, but their tears sustain me...I enjoyed the photos and video immensely.

We sailed on Mariner Jan 30-Feb 4 (our first cruise ever). We booked an Ocean View (9214) and received the upgrade email. We bid on an Ocean View Balcony. Minimum bid $100 and we bid $120.
A week before sailing we received notice that our bid was accepted. We were put in room 8294. Starboard side, just forward of the "bulge". Nice room for our first cruise.

nanowerx reacted to UkuleleCruiser in Deluxe Beverage package- - 20% off doesn't add up?
I treat it the same, regardless: I estimate how much I will drink on a given cruise, using generous restaurant drink pricing. If my total indicates the drink package will save me money, I'm in. If it doesn't, I buy the drinks as I go. Incidentally, since my wife and I enjoy the art auctions on sea days, we always can factor that in with the free "inexpensive" champagne they provide.Royal Caribbean can jack with the prices all they want: My spreadsheet never lies.

nanowerx got a reaction from The Cruise Junkie in Coco Cay Update( Video)
I am going on the Harmony in early June and RC seems to think this is going to be finished and fully operational in less than 4 months, when I am there. I have my doubts and even if they do make a push and get it done, I would be concerned with the quality of the construction. I work in the construction industry and this place is still a minimum 8 months out to get it even close to all the simulated pictures and videos they have been showing for the finished product.
My family is just going to enjoy the various beaches here, I don't see a 'Perfect Day' in our near future.

The very first item "take a picture with a DreamWorks character" will be unattainable for me this year as they are getting rid of them a few weeks before my June cruise!
