I know I’m more likely to get pregnant than actually sail on November 1st on Harmony but I am a no quit kind of guy. Tried checking in a few times now.  Keep getting “we’ve hit a snag” when I get to the end of each of us. That’s trying to do it through the app. I entered all info on line for each of us. Says “view set sail pass” but nothing?

It's a point I've heard as well. Basically, Fahrenheit is the better temperature scale because the 0 and 100 degree points mark the temperature range that humans can decently survive at, and can even form settled societies at. It's also better for measuring body temperatures, where the range is so narrow between normal and life-threatening fever that Celsius just doesn't convey the potential severity nearly well enough.

U.S. cruiser here: We are not even thinking of any cruise before December 2021. Even then, if we were to book, it would be with the understanding that we would bail out on the cruise if conditions have not improved. If we got a credit or a refund, so be it. In this climate, we would have to be willing to lose any money (or argue with RCI at a much later date.)
For the first time we would be gambling on a cruise - in this case, on the cruise itself. But we're not going to bet our lives on it.

My thought is they know the only way to get the crowds back up is to be open and trying but yeah they had more employees on hand than guests.
Admittedly this was a Wednesday so crowds are probably stronger on the weekend, etc. but still it was probably the strangest day of my life to stand there and where i would usually see thousands of people see maybe 2-3.
Rode Soarin with a total of 6 people on the ride ... and nobody standing in line when we got off.

LGA has been in a constant state of upheaval / construction for the last 40 years, it seems. There are reasons to use it, but just know what you are getting into.

PVSA violations do incur penalties.  In theory CBP can impose the same fee for a medical evac patient however it has been noted that in the case of a medical evac CBP will often waive the fee.  None the less it is still a violation of the PVSA.
A forced removal for violating the guest conduct policy that involves a guest being debarked in Key West would be a PVSA violation and it is unlikely CBP would waive the fee.
CBP will sometimes waive the fee if a guest has to leave a ship for bereavement purposes.   A death in the family causing a trip to be cut short however it remains a violation that will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Majesty and Empress aren't going anywhere for awhile - they can go places no other ships can, like Cuba and Hamilton/St. Georges in Bermuda.  Not everyone wants the big flashy bells & whistles, so those of us need something in the Royal fleet too.  There is something to be said for classic-style cruising.

I for one would actually start gambling on cruise ships if the casinos were entirely smoke free.  So I wonder how many current gamblers would quit and how many new ones would start...

Maybe well pass time to let Majesty go & replace it with something new. RCL may start to cannibalize itself as more & more people are becoming more & more attracted to the latest & greatest mega ships & ignore some of the smaller ships who offer much less, for a price that some passengers may deem not worth it.
A newer class of smaller ships, could offer much more & help cement more, Royal's leadership & innovation, in the world cruise industry, imho.

That depends on your cell phone provider.
With most international add-on plans you can use your phone normally without any changes and the costs (if any) will be based on your carrier's international plan.
On the ship you are usually best to activate airplane mode once away from land or the on-board cell tower may kick in which isn't covered by most international plans.
To be honest, you would be best to visit a store of your cell phone provider and have them walk you through any changes and charges.  Folks here can make educated guesses based on past experience but terms and conditions change.  In the end your cell provider will know exactly what plan you have and how to avoid extra charges.

Long-time lanyard-wearer for work. Please, please, please get a lanyard that releases from the back of the neck when enough tension is applied. Choke / entanglement issues. Trust me. Same reason that cats should always have a releasing collar.
Wouldn't cruise without one. Found ours at the port (Port Canaveral) after check-in and before the boat. Georgia Tech, to be exact. Wife's Alma Mater.

On our July 2 cruise on Mariner of the Seas, the executive chef came around and asked everyone how the food was. My son Brandon who is 13 said his steak was great but wanted to know when he could have a quesadilla. The chef told him it wasn’t going to be on the cruise menu and I thought saw son get very sad. Then the chef said just tell your waiter tomorrow “Chef McDonald” said I could have a quesadilla and we will make you one.  It was awesome.

    +1 on Indian food.
On Majesty of the Seas, they had some very good Indian food all the time in the Windjammer, if you knew where to look. We casually mentioned how we were enjoying that Indian food to our head waiter in the MDR the first night and every night he provided an Indian dish in addition to the regular menu items. It was awesome. Boy, did we look forward to the MDR. We would have gladly traded out one of the listed entrees for the Indian dish, but he insisted that it be additional, not replacement.
We noticed that there were several chefs and cuisine managers from the Indian subcontinent listed in the WJ.
For the cost of a few plates of food, Royal locked us in as customers for the foreseeable future. Cheap customer retention costs for them. Good food for us. That works.
