It’s called the Villa suite, category VS. Only available on HM and SY. You won’t find it because they go so fast! Not exaggerating at all. With the summer 2022 release a few days ago, they were literally gone within 24hrs.

I believe there is only one of these suites per ship correct?

As for tipping in the Specialty restaurants, we always (whether in Star Class or not) tip as follows:  $5 for breakfast, $10 for lunch and $20 for dinner no matter where we eat, even if it is in the Windjammer or Coastal Kitchen. We tip in cash but you can certainly charge it to you Sea Pass account, which will essentially consume your OBC.

We used these exact numbers last year and it worked great.  Brought some cash just for tipping and used the rest for our room attendant when we checked out.  We also tip a little extra at the bar even having the drink package.

  3. I personally wouldn't want to cruise less than 7 nights.  When looking at all the activities the ships have to offer just remember that you will not be able to do everything on the ship.  Our first cruise I planned and planned to squeeze as much in as possible.  By day 3 we were exhausted and just started going with the flow.  We did my time dining and just decided where we wanted to eat and when on the fly.  If you try to do too much you'll need a vacation from your vacation.

  4. I will drive 100% of the time.  I booked a refundable first class airline ticket this year that I was suppose to be able to cancel or change for any reason...

My wife lost her job because of this Covid crap and she decided to travel with me.  So I canceled the ticket for a refund because we decided to drive and make a vacation out of the trip.  BAM, airline won't refund my money.  They gave me a credit to rebook a flight between now and December 2021 but it has to be in my name!  Screw the airlines, Ill never give them another penny of my money.

I also like having the freedom to do whatever I want on a road trip vs being herded into a tube like cattle for a few hours.

  5. We decided to L&S our April 21 cruise to April 22 because of all the uncertainty floating around.  We actually saved some money and I would hope by 2022 everything is back to normal.  I would highly recommend looking into L&S, some people have gotten ridiculously awesome deals switching ships and upgrading rooms and paying the same rate.  Can't hurt to try it!  Good Luck!

  6. I find it interesting that I have had atleast 3 comments deleted when responding to someone with a more liberal viewpoint concerning Covid-19.  So its basically ok to post your viewpoint if it aligns with mainstream media but not the other way around.   And please dont start with it violates our terms because half of the posts attacking other members that share a different viewpoint regarding Corona violate it as well.   Should either be all about cruising or let the other side comment as well.  Pretty sad.

I have an April 2021 cruise booked (rebooked from April 2020 and used some FCC).  Looks like the same cruise itinerary and ship will sail from FLL in 2022 instead of Miami.  Do you think it is wise to forget 2021 and if so would I be able to L&S?  My only problem is I have my kids and grandkids coming along and am not sure what week in April 2022 would be their school vacation.  Also if we had sailed in 2020 all 5 grandkids were 12 and under...rebooking to 2021 only 4 are considered kids and if I move to 2022 only 3 will be "kids"!!  Ughhhh this is getting complicated!

You dont have to keep the same ship.  We did because we wanted to sail out of Galveston.  I would be interested to see how they treat the kids rate since they would be considered adults in 2022.

We arent sure what our 2 highschool kids will be doing in school in April, Ill just keep them out a week for the cruise and not worry about it.

As far as forgetting 2021, only you can make that call.  We just felt more comfortable letting this stuff pass on down the road before even trying to cruise.   I would definitely contact them and see what available options you have for L&S.  You might get an awesome upgrade shipwise and room wise for your same rate.  Cant hurt to ask!

  8. The only responsibility I have for 7 days is to make it back to the room under my own power, make it back to the ship on time and not be a ?head to anyone.

I can eat and drink to my hearts content, I can choose to do it all or do nothing at all.  It just doesn't get any better than that.

I will also add that I am not a very social person on land but I find meeting new people and hanging out quite enjoyable on the ship.

And Harmony has a western Caribbean itinerary during that time frame.  Ports are a little different and port of origin is different but still a 7 day western Caribbean.  I guess my question is the OS on Harmony is at least twice as expensive as the one we have booked on rhapsody.  If I moved to that cruise, would I get the Harmony OS for what I paid for the Rhapsody OS.  Seems too good to be true.

I just L&S from April 2021 to April 2022.  We were booked in a villa suite on Liberty and being there is only 1 on a ship I was told that Symphony and Harmony would be an option if a villa was available 30 days either side of my original sail date.  My understanding is they would have to lock in my price even If I switched to a Star class suite on the bigger ships.  Of course, no villas were available so it didn't happen.  I rebooked on Liberty and it all worked out.

Long story short, your price should be locked in even if you are able to upgrade.

Oh My God...you're killing me smalls. Why are you doing this to me.....I want all the foods except Chops and Jamie's, I found them lackluster on Mariner

Chops on Liberty last year was my favorite.  Ordered the porterhouse twice and it was the best steak I have ever had.  I wonder how much difference there is from ship to ship.

When my wife and I met, she had two boys from a previous marriage...4 and 5.  Two years later, we had a son together.

In January 2019, when the youngest was 19,  we took our first childless vacation (and first cruise) ever.  It was very weird.   There were times when we literally did not know what to do with ourselves.

Since that first cruise, we've done three more, and have three booked for 2021 (just lifted and shifted one from Nov 20 to Nov 21).  Suffice to say we are hooked on cruising.

When we took our cruise it was the first time we were by ourselves for 15 years for more than a day.  Weird feeling indeed!

Sky class for the 2 Bedroom GS. But you do get VOOM included whereas on Liberty you don’t. But on Liberty you would get the hot tub. Is that and the bigger ship worth the move to Miami? Only you can decide that. ?

LOL, the easier it is to get 5 kids to the ship and back home the better.  We are 7 hours from Galveston and almost 22 from Miami.  Plus I think Liberty will be a great ship for their first cruise.  My wife and I loved it.

Yes!  Definitely look into it.  I know someone who recently just shifted a RS on Indy or Freedom (I cannot remember but basically no star class) and they got the RLS on Oasis!  Winner winner right there!

I was told it would be a 2 bedroom grand suite that was available on Symphony which is Sky class?  No villas available on Harmony or Symphony within our dates.  We have 8 of us going, 5 of which are teenagers.  The only problem is getting all of us to Miami is way more involved than Galveston and they have an open Villa on Liberty April 2022 we can switch to.  Am I screwing myself for lack of a better term by staying on Liberty.  I think the 4 bedrooms would work way better.  But Ive never been on an Oasis class ship.
