@ChiliHa, they denied me on an Ovation for Jan 2023, cancelled and rebooked at new price.
It seems to be enforced inconsistently. I also book on the website and sometimes when you call they are happy to reprice and sometimes they say they wont. I feel like it depends on who you get on the phone.
I always book with refundable now so I can just cancel and rebook the same room. Only downside is paying the deposit again, but they have been returning within a few days lately.

Need to fast forward another year and a half. The Aussie cruise market is going to be red hot.
Virgin are sending Resilient Lady to compete with Celebrity Egde. Royal better send Icon so they are not left behind! haha 🙂

    A handy 18 C&A points, but 331 is depressing!
I just got home from a land holiday in Cairns/Port Douglas. Should have been on Quantum this week 😞
No didn't quote it, it's not a big deal, just paid the deposit again.

I was really hoping this would be the outcome.  So glad to see this.
    Time to catch up!

Same infection went on to kill an otherwise healthy person on the other side of the family who didn’t take it seriously enough! Don’t need evidence, its just logical that wearing a mask and distancing will reduce the potential for exposure to some degree. So yeah it can’t hurt to at least try and protect some people. We weren’t out to try win a mother of the year award.

I’m sorry you find it foolish. But if it doesn’t affect you personally, then the problem doesn’t exist? Am I right?

    1. So sorry that you caught covid and glad that you recovered and that no one else in your family got it.
    2. If you can say wearing masks if "beyond foolishness'," it would only be fair to allow others to believe and say that "simple measures work."  I don't think that dismissiveness really gets us anywhere on these boards that are designed to educate cruisers for RCCL.

What is going on in Australia as it pertains to the cruise industry?  Just yesterday Carnival Cruise lines confirmed to The Points Guy that they will be removing both Carnival Spirit and Carnival Splendor (the two ships they've dedicated to Australia for a few years) over to the United States.  Carnival Spirit is heading to Jacksonville however there was no destination given as to where Carnival Splendor will end up at.  According to the article Carnival is removing those ships from Australia because there is still no clear path as too when Australian government will allow cruising to resume and Carnival would not say if or when these ships would return to Australia.
The Australian Government needs to take some action in regards to the cruise industry or risk setting the industry back because it would seem like cruise lines are not willing to go another year and let those ship sit idle while other countries around the world have allowed cruising to safely resume.
The news about Australia can be found in the second half of the article.

I'll counter the above. Had household family members with Omicron. Applied simple measures like wearing a mask in common areas, washing hands regularly. Guess what? Didn't get it. Simple measures like this work..maybe not 100% of the time but they do help.
Also, masks don't just stop someone spitting on you, they also prevent you from touching your nose and mouth (which we do more often than we realise) after touching an infected surface.
Anyways, back to cruising. 2 years this week since the ship ban. Life sucks in Australia.

There are heaps for Spectrum - 24 dates
It's not going to work until they drop the testing regime in Singapore, currently too restrictive to make it worth it.

My US adventure is going very well, have an absolute blast. Only 610 on the Granduer and so very personal service by great staff, although not much atmosphere at casino, game shows, etc. Bingo got cancelled today due to lack of people and so have the odd shore excursion. Only missed one port, Columbia, but the rest have all been as per the schedule when we boarded, which is different from when we booked. The processes through airports and ports are understandably different, but if you put in the time to research and be fully prepared, quite easy. So far so good, so glad we have gone.
