  1. Today
  2. Thank you for the confirmation…and warning. Been a lot of discussions past few cruises with couples questioning if Icon is truly a family packed theme park. Apparently there is truth to the rumors. I’m out.
  3. I can tell you here on symphony they have removed people's belongings from some chairs that were being hogged. That being said it is few and far between. Still plenty of hogging going on.
  4. I am so sorry this happened to you. Their billing "system" is so F'd up for a company of this size. They need to just pause all transactions for a week and set up a new payment processing system with a whole new team because what they have in place now is a joke. I am currently at risk of losing thousands because of a $150 they can figure out how to process
  5. Booking your reservations individually versus the UDP is probably also going to be a better financial move with your scenario, plus you can select your dining days and times upon booking
  6. We always Uber/lyft for 4-5 of us. If you do self-disembark early, the Uber can get to you in 5 minutes. I usually try to reserve while walking thru the line in the terminal. If you wait, it can take a while for an Uber to get to you due to the traffic.
  7. As time gets closer I would think the cruise planner will add the Kennedy Space Center as an excursion. The price on my cruise planner is $149/pp ($10 less for young children) which includes: 30 minute bus ride to the center (and back to port), entry to most attractions, 5 hours for the touring, meet with an astronaut, some hands on fun, time on your own to explore, etc.
  8. Theoretically that should work but with Royal you never know. YMMV but they had a list on my last couple of sailings and they checked off the room. I recall somebody doing this and was checked off as used even though they didn't use all the credit. Now they could have each used $10 instead of like you are asking, but they were denied the credit.
  9. Then it might be better to get the 3N package, if CK is the main draw. I only say this as it might be financially better. I also would imagine that they would prepare all your meals sans salt. Flavors might differ as they substitute and sub out ingredients.
  10. Did you not read all of my posts? I said it’s dumb to have the little kids area so far away from everything else ………. I said they if they were going to have a pool, area 6 floors away from everything else, it should have been the adult area …….. it’s dumb to make families of mixed age kids have to split up because of how the pools and water slides are up top and the little kids area is 6 floors away. I didn’t say adults needed a quiet area …… somebody else said that and I said 6 floors away for adults would be quieter than being next to the water slides where it is now. I could care a less if the adults area is quiet or not …….. but it would have made more sense for the little kids area to be next to the water slides and the adults area to be the one that’s so far away instead of making families of kids with varied ages have to split up.
  11. They'll bring a sharps container as well if you need one.
  12. oh sweet lord. i need to lay down. gooDBYE FOREVER THIS IS SO GROSS
  13. Can I bring a Dyson Airwrap onboard Voyager of the Seas?
  14. $1000 charged = $10. You can cash in on line for on board credit. If you charge about $70,000 or $700 credit...that is a BOGO or 2 for one cruise. Usually that's a 7 night Caribbean ocean view. If you pay the difference for a specific cruise, for example, the difference between an ocean view and a balcony, you can upgrade the 2 for 1. These are approximate numbers. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/visa-signature/royal-caribbean-visa-signature-rewards-options.pdf Gives the details. It takes a fair amount of cash flow for significant rewards and interest rates are not the best. Depending on your circumstances, it can provide some perks.
  15. Am I understanding correctly….we both have the UDP. At Playmakers, we EACH have a $20 credit, 1 visit per day? So in effect, we can use my $20 credit and share an Onion Ring tower at lunch and go back in the evening and use my wife’s $20 on wings?
  16. Just wish Royal would do the same thing, or worse, to the lounge chair hogs by the pools!
  17. Yes, I had a medical refrigerator for my sailing on Ovation. It wasn't in my cabin when we arrived, bur the steward wasted no time in getting one for us.
  18. How did you like the cruise, and more importantly how did your 92 year old cousin like her 1st cruise?
  19. Yesterday
  20. Vancouverite here. Many retailers will, many won't, I know that doesn't really help you. Debit and credit are most common to use, cash is not used that much. Just take your cards it will be the easiest, same as when we go into the States. When you say central park area, I am going to guess you mean Stanley Park. For restaurants there will be a ton to choose from, some very typical Vancouver/Canada elevated dining would be places like The Keg, Cactus Club, Earls. If you want to splurge Hawksworth is nice, Gotham for a splurgy steakhouse. Then again, when I say splurge, I am speaking in Canadian rubles, your Freedom dollars will go a lot further. Joe Fortes for some seafood. There are lots of good Japanese places as well, Miku is a great sushi place right by the cruise terminal at Canada place. Definitely lots of options for food. As far as things to do, I don't know when you will be here but expect lots of rain right now. You can check out Capilano Suspension bridge if you want a day outside, art gallery is downtown if you are into that. If the weather is nice and you are staying near Stanley park you can walk or rent bikes and go around the sea wall. Canada's best aquarium is also in Stanley Park. You can take an Uber all around downtown. Taking the Seabus to North Vancouver Lonsday Quay is really nice, its a 15 minute ferry ride that will cost you a few bucks, and once across there is a market, and some really nice breweries and restaurants! I hope you enjoy your stay!
  21. Once the points are added as OBC can they be used to cover the daily gratuity that is added?
  22. Who did you book this through? We just got changed to Grand Turk and there are no excursions listed in the cruise planner
  23. Good question. We plan to eat the other 1/2 of the week's in specialty.
  24. It will obviously vary by business. Some will and some won’t. Just like how not all businesses in Seattle accept Canadian currency. Those that will take them aren’t going to do you any favors with the exchange rate. Just use a card, it’s much easier
  25. Do they? Yes, but you'll get a terrible exchange rate. Better to just use your credit card.
  26. I would recommend using a credit/debit card to get the best exchange rate. US Dollars in cash would be hit/miss and the exchange rates unfavorable.
