smtwist Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 How do you carry your SeaPass card? I rarely have pockets and am use to the Disney Magic Band at this point so am looking for suggestions. We will be getting the deluxe drink package so do we also have to carry IDs (licenses/passports) to show we are of drinking age or does the SeaPass show that? Quote
Dawn T. Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 A lanyard is a great way to carry your SeaPass card. Not sure about your other question, but I'm sure someone here will know. Quote
melski94 Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 No need to show ID. They have all your info when you booked and checked in. Also those under 21 have a different looking card, it is youth card and looks slightly different. Also, I use an lanyard too. Quote
antarec Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 I usually carry it in my main wallet, however, next cruise I will bring a secondary card wallet holding the SeaPass only. Some ships have WOW Band capabilities, when I was on Harmony recently I had the ability to purchase for $5 at Guest Relations. Honestly, it was bit of a pain to hand to the bartenders and wait-staff. However, it was GREAT to use it to open the stateroom. You still have to use the SeaPass to embark and disembark though. If you're used to using MagicBands, the WOW Band may be your best alternative, just depends if you're going on Harmony, Symphony, and I believe any Quantum Class ship. All the other ships, as far as my knowledge, do not have WOW band tech yet. Quote
bhageerah Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Lanyard here! I got a handful free at my job and threw them in my book bag with our set sail passes. When we checked in, I asked the woman checking us in iif she would mind cutting the holes in our room keys and of course she was more than happy to oblige! I have found that this is better that using a wallet/money clip because there is absolutely nothing I need to carry around other than my phone or GoPro so I can take pictures around the ship. Quote
MikeK Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 I have a number of pocket Ts and button up shirts with pockets that I use to carry my card. I haven't lost one yet. Knock on wood Quote
mom2mybugs Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Your sea pass card should show your age (on the computer when they pull it up) so you won't need your license on the ship. I always use a lanyard...it works great! Oh... and avoid sunscreen on your sea pass card (it wipes out the ink! ) Jane Lovetocruise2002 and bhageerah 2 Quote
whenismynextcruise Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Great tip on the sunscreen @mom2mybugs - I learned something new today :) Quote
Shari Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 I use a lanyard. One other thing to note is that you should never carry your sea pass card next to your phone because it will wipe out your ability to get into your room. My hubby found out the hard way, twice, on the same cruise. LOL PrincipalTinker 1 Quote
smtwist Posted April 7, 2018 Author Report Posted April 7, 2018 Thank you everyone! Do the passes have a way to connect the lanyard to them? Or is that a simple ask of guest relations who can punch a hole in them for us? Quote

Some ships (Anthem, Harmony, Quantum) have sea pass cards that have RFID technology and you can't punch a hole in those. PrincipalTinker 1 Quote

At Universal I wear a lanyard that has a clear plastic pouch. My TA sent me some of these for my Sea pass. Quote

Is your pup a goldendoodle ? My daughter has one. What a bundle of energy ! Quote
bhageerah Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Yes he is, and my GOD he is full of energy! He is a good pup though, last dog was a Golden retriever and the jury is still out which breed I prefer....but they are both great dogs! WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Sorry but I am very biased. There is no better breed than a Goldie, IMO. The only reason Leigh did the goldendoodle is b/c she has terrible allergies and was hoping the hypoallergenic breed would be better for her. In truth, it has been. No shedding, no dander. Hers is a hot mess though. She’s such a spaz...but such a sweetie. I miss my Goldie every single day. Quote

They will punch a hole in it so you can use a lanyard with a clip. They also sell lanyards with plastic pouches on board (sometimes in the terminal waiting area) and a lot of people use those. I tend to use a lanyard during the day when walking around the ship, but at night I just carry the card in my pocket since I’m a little more dressed up. My wife has a casual lanyard for day and a “dressy” lanyard for evening. Quote

One72pilot Posted April 12, 2018 Report Posted April 12, 2018 We have used these in the past if you need something for in the water. Never had a problem with them leaking. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001P5Y08C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Quote
Patta_Conna Posted April 16, 2018 Report Posted April 16, 2018 Lanyard! Look for those with a clip type. Have the guest service punch a hole on your seapass card and you can clip it to your lanyard. Great way to carry it around without having to worry able losing your card! Quote
