LTR Posted October 28, 2024 Report Posted October 28, 2024 I have seen @Matt favourite ports in his list https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/12/04/best-cruise-ports-the-caribbean but I want to hear from you! Considering the Caribbean, what are your favourite ports that you just can't wait to get back to (excluding Labadie and CocoCay)? Quote
Ryan79 Posted October 28, 2024 Report Posted October 28, 2024 While not a popular port in of itself, I love Costa Maya because it means I’ll be at Maya Chan, which is my happy place. LTR and bcarney 1 1 Quote
LTR Posted October 29, 2024 Author Report Posted October 29, 2024 From what I have read @WAAAYTOOO says that Curacao is their favourite and @smokeybandit puts a vote in for Aruba. WAAAYTOOO, JustMeJoe and ChessE4 3 Quote
smokeybandit Posted October 29, 2024 Report Posted October 29, 2024 Yes, Aruba is my favorite, though Curacao is #2 after I found a good brewery there. That said I'm not overly partial to any port. LTR 1 Quote
LTR Posted October 29, 2024 Author Report Posted October 29, 2024 I am just trying to plan a cruise and have been looking at a few ports and what is available at each to do, so it is interesting hearing the what and why behind certain spots for people who are more travelled than I. Quote
Hoppy2BHere Posted October 30, 2024 Report Posted October 30, 2024 St. Maarten. Water taxi over to the boardwalk. Town is nice. Lots to walk around and see… and good beer! J&S oh… and cheese…. mabarnes81 and LTR 1 1 Quote

Curacao is pretty and a chance to use Spanish. Costa Maya has the ruins I love. LTR 1 Quote
Kelseylovestocruise Posted October 31, 2024 Report Posted October 31, 2024 My favourites are Cozumel (I love the beach clubs all inclusive days) and St. Kitts my favourite rum and rum tour is there. LTR 1 Quote

billdauterive Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 Back to the original question, I'm partial to Costa Maya just because of Maya Chan. Excluding Maya Chan, I probably enjoy Grand Cayman the most overall. Hopefully my answer will change to Aruba and/or Curacao as well here in a few weeks... If you want the complete opposite, Ensenada is the perfect example of a day to stay on the ship. I know it's not the Caribbean but I think the Mexican Riviera is similar enough to what you're actually looking for, North American warm weather ports. LTR 1 Quote
loki007 Posted November 5, 2024 Report Posted November 5, 2024 we just did the ABC islands and love them all. They are all different and awesome in their own way. Definitely our favorite itinerary, just need Perfect Day added. LTR 1 Quote
Jolly Ogre Posted November 13, 2024 Report Posted November 13, 2024 St Thomas as we have friends there that have a sandwich shop. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bumpas+Sandwich+Shop/@18.340869,-64.931284,15z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x8c051b0000000001:0xc2926c7f85fd6c17!8m2!3d18.340869!4d-64.931284!16s%2Fg%2F11g6xsjv4v?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTExMS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D Everyone should stop there and get something at least once in their cruise career. I suggest the bacon wrapped plantains. WAAAYTOOO and LTR 1 1 Quote
Baumabound25 Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 What if we choose not to do an excursion one day. What is there to do say on San Juan, Labadee, st. Lucia or the others when u get off ship? Quote
billdauterive Posted December 9, 2024 Report Posted December 9, 2024 My answer has changed to Aruba and Curacao. SebagoSue and LTR 2 Quote

We are a family traveling together by like parents and mid to late 20s kids. It was a small group excursion a mini bus full of people. It took us to Shipwreck Rum and they took us on a tour of the sugar plantation it was on then we went to a renovated barn and had an amazing rum tasting (5 or 6 shots of rum). Then I went and bought some. I need more of this rum and cannot get it in Canada where I live Pooch 1 Quote
