WAAAYTOOO Posted July 29, 2024 Report Posted July 29, 2024 At the risk of exposing my math (and perhaps, reading comprehension) deficiencies, I need some help deciding if this news is a good thing or a bad thing for solo cruisers ! In today's newsletter EXCITING UPDATE: SINGLE SUPPLEMENT BENEFIT Starting August 1, Pinnacle Club and Diamond Plus members with more than 340 points will enjoy a reduced single supplement cruise fare of 125% on all Transatlantic, Transpacific, and Panama Canal sailings. We want to make booking these popular voyages even easier. For all other sailings, you will continue to enjoy a reduced single supplement fare of 150%. Does this mean that solo cruisers will pay more or less on the applicable cruises, beginning 8-1-24 ? TessFromFlorida, asquared17 and Herman Hinkelstein 1 2 Quote
jaygee2729 Posted July 29, 2024 Report Posted July 29, 2024 It means that on the included sailings if the cruise price per person were $1000.00 a single person would pay $1,250.00. The old price would have cost a single person $1.500.00. Ryan79, TessFromFlorida and WAAAYTOOO 2 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted July 29, 2024 Report Posted July 29, 2024 So they're trying to encourage more 340+ solos to take those longer cruises. Seems a good ploy. Ampurp85, WAAAYTOOO and Baked Alaska 3 Quote
Cakemeister Posted July 29, 2024 Report Posted July 29, 2024 Most cabins are selling like hotcakes, but I guess the repositioning cruises aren't. This is just a little marketing. Why not? Quote
BigKarl Posted July 29, 2024 Report Posted July 29, 2024 I am reading this to say that all Transatlantic, Transpacific, and Panama Canal sailings are eligible for this discount. I have been watching 2 transatlantic sailings for Nov. and both of them still say that 340+ discount is not available for this sailing. Maybe it has not been pushed by IT yet? Quote

LuvRCCL Posted July 29, 2024 Report Posted July 29, 2024 Sounds like a nice benefit to me. But the pessimist in me says...what is on the other side of the coin? Quote
Matt Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 It sounds like a way to boost bookings for cruises that don't otherwise sell well Ampurp85 1 Quote
twangster Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 DP340 has been a fantastic money saver for me over the years. Well into the tens of thousands of dollars now. 125% on select sailings sounds even better. It just keeps on getting better and better. Ampurp85, Snotarni and WAAAYTOOO 3 Quote

smokeybandit Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 Nice, not just long cruises. I'll be at 340 end of next year. Almost half way to the top Ampurp85 and WAAAYTOOO 1 1 Quote
