Kdwilly
Going on a cruise out of Galveston next February on the Harmony of the seas and was researching where to stay the night before. Â Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

stevendom57
I like to stay in Webster or Clear lake. My go to hotel is Hilton Houston Nasa Clear Lake. Take an Uber to Galveston.
WAYNO
My Wife stays at Moody Gardens when cruising from Galveston. . Apparently it's a destination in itself. https://www.moodygardens.com/

SpeedNoodles
We stayed at Harbor House, and it was fantastic. We saw dolphins from our room every day. So many places to eat within walking distance. And, although they had not advertised it, they provided a complimentary shuttle to the port, which was a great surprise. Eyeonhevn
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Texas City, the last town before you cross the causeway into Galveston. There are several hotels in that same area. DoomSlayer
Traveling Mike
I just find the best deal around the Airport. Unless you are going to spend the day enjoying the town of Galveston there is no need to pay those high prices.

We like the food options within walking distance and indoor secure parking (Port Parking) is very close too.  For us, we like to be in Galveston the night before the cruise and know that we made it there and are ready to go!  Yes, it will cost you more than other places though. steverk
You don't mention what you are looking for. If you just want a hotel for the night and nothing more, then staying in Webster or League City is probably the best balance between price, ease of access to Galveston and safety. If you're looking for a place that will add to your vacation, I'd suggest the Boardwalk hotel in Kemah, the Courtyard by Marriott NASA Clear Lake or Moody Gardens in Galveston. mjb1127

Passion4Vie
Thank you for this posting, some hotel stay ideas for me for 4/30, cruising on May 1.
Kathleen
We had hotel reservations for our Galveston cruise in January in Galveston. Southwest changed our plane reservation and the non stop flight into Hobby is only available in the evening with an arrival time of 950 pm. I’ve heard many say the area around Hobby is not where they would want to stay but if we choose to arrive that late, we will not want to travel to Galveston. There are earlier flights but the all leave at 615 AM. So before I changed the flights they assigned me I wanted to reach out to my knowledgeable community whose opinions I trust!!! steverk
The people who say to avoid hotels around Hobby Airport are wise. Take their advice. I'd suggest getting an Uber to one of the hotels in Webster or League City.  There's a Holiday Inn Express in Webster right on I45. That's where I would stay. There's also shopping and fast food within walking distance.
function12
I live 15 minutes from Hobby. I would not stay in that area. Especially with a vehicle. As others have said. Look in Clear Lake NASA, Webster, League City, or Galveston. Grey Wolf Lodge will be open around Labor day.
