  1. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Texas City, the last town before you cross the causeway into Galveston. There are several hotels in that same area.
  2. I’m not sure this is new but it wasn’t offered last time I sailed symphony. You can sign up and have symphony pick up your luggage and transport to the airport for you. we have a debarkation transfer to airport. We pay additional 29$ pp for this luggage service. we give them our flight information. They give us luggage tags (we pay royal for those fees too) and the night before debarkation they pick up luggage and the next time we see it is on the bag carousel once we land back at home. i know it’s not for everyone, but will fill a big need for some in our group whose flight leaves late in day - and would be dragging and babysitting suitcases.
  3. Kristi is correct. If you look at the RC website and look at options for canal cruise, you’ll see the options are few. They use the canal for repositioning.
  4. Thanks all! Can I put it in a transparent sleeve and leave it in the sleeve? To pay? To open my cabin door? Etc?
  5. Someone told me that Symphony of the seas is no longer punching holes in the sea pass to wear with lanyard. Is this true? The last time I was on symphony, they punched hole in the card to wear it. I was on Brilliance earlier this year and they punched a hole and wore it. has symphony stopped doing that?
  6. Another member mentioned Momma Mia show on the Allure and it got me thinking. I love the broadway shows on the ships and wonder if there is a list of shows/ships? For instance: Hairspray: Symphony of the seas Wizard of Oz: Icon of the Seas Momma Mia: Allure of the seas We Will Rock You: Anthem Cats: Oasis of the Seas Grease: Harmony Of Seas and Independence of Seas Saturday Night Fever: Liberty of Seas I might pick my next trip based on the show... maybe!
  7. Thank you! This is helpful. I'll use the app next week!
  8. Last April there was a group of us booked and we attempted to check in. It required we add everything - passport, photo, all the details. In fact in our case, if I remember correctly on that sailing, we could only upload photos and passport but couldn't select a time for boarding. We had to lurk daily on the RC website until boarding time was added for selection. There are several people who have reported that during normal check-in process, you don't have to upload passport or photo....but can select boarding time first and come back later to add the passport details and photo. If this is so - does it matter if you use the app for check-in or the website? Thanks in advance!
  9. I found it. It's round trip. Now to investigate and research Greenland.....!
  10. Yes, I think that's it. However last night when I was browsing, i couldn't seem to pull up a 15 night to Greenland no matter what I did in the search. Is it considered a transatlantic? Or is it round trip? Matt, have you been to Greenland? I keep looking at different cruises that leave from US...!
  11. I was intrigued by Matt's recent video on sailing to New England and Nova Scotia - and remembered recently as I was browsing RC website looking for interesting cruises, i remember one that sailed north, (I think) Maine, a few ports in Canada/Nova Scotia and then on to Greenland for maybe 12 days or more? Maybe it was a one way but my memory is that it was a round trip. After watching Matt's video, I went back to RC website to look at cruises heading north and only see a handful (Vision OTS and Liberty OTS) going to Canada for 9 days and none were longer. Was I dreaming or do you have any insight on NE, Canada/NS and onward?
  12. Agree with Shanethegriff here. I'm in this age bracket. I'm retired and living on limited means. I budget my limited funds to be able to travel!
  13. Once my points didn't update. I deleted my app and reinstalled and *poof* my points were correct.
  14. I'm late to this Texan party! Hello to you from north Texas (Dallas area).
  15. I've deleted and reinstalled my RC app. I've turned off my phone and turned it back on. I've upgraded my iphone with most recent software, too! My excursions and speciality dining shows up in my RC account when I log in on my browser, but they aren't showing up in my RC app under that sailing. Friends taking the same cruise - their excursions are showing up! Why not me? Any ideas I haven't considered to fix my app?
  16. Wasn’t expecting the discounts to stack. Just couldn’t figure out why my usual discount with crown and anchor didn’t work.
  17. Yes, I booked directly through Royal. I have done a mock booking and even with my CA number and apply promo and such, there is no discount showing up except the NRD discounts. I guess its set to offer the "better" discount and it must be better than the CAS discounts, etc?
  18. In the past when I've booked a cruise, the invoice shows my crown and anchor discounts for balcony and such. However with this latest booking, my invoice shows discounts called "NRD". At the time of booking, I asked for my Crown and anchor discounts and the agent said i was given all the discounts. Any insight? Are they called NRD now instead of CAS?
  19. We had this happen to us earlier this year on the Radiance. We couldn't select our boarding time and waited a week or more (I'd have to go look at my thread because I posted a very similar thing for that cruise. The earliest was 11am boarding.
  20. When I look at the drink package options in my upcoming sailing, if you scroll to the bottom of the page where it shows the details and "fine print" it says: "Offer applies to bookings made September 28, 2023 - October 2, 2023 and applies to select sailings departing October 2, 2023 – September 30, 2024. Senior Savings offer applies to guests 65 or older. Offers are non-transferable and not combinable with Crown & Anchor discounts or any other offer or promotion. Offers may vary by ship and sail date. Additional fees may apply to booking changes or cancellations. Prices and offers are subject to availability and change without notice, capacity controlled, and may be withdrawn at any time. Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to change or update fares, fees and surcharges at any time without prior notice."
  21. I just wanted to update how this has turned out. I called RC and told them the #2 guest was not able to go. I told him, I didn't want him to change anything yet - but needed him to verify the price difference before he changed anything. He put me on hold multiple times, kept coming back and saying he was getting help and finally took my phone number and said he would call me back. The next day in the afternoon, I received a call from another RC person who gave me a price that was more than 3000 more for me to book the room as a single than we were paying for 2 guests in the same cabin. She explained she would have to rebook at current pricing. We booked in January 2023 for June 2024....Prices have gone up significantly. So I decided that I will leave the reservation as is - and hope #2 guest can go after all or I find another person to travel with me or I leave it and he will be a no show. (At least I think those are my options!) I asked about this a while back and was told this was probably going to happen by members here - and its true!
  22. We are watching the flights for our summer 2024 Southbound Alaska cruise and the cost for the flights is really high. I'm wondering if there is a cheaper way to get home after disembarking in Vancouver? Is there a way to cross to Seattle - and then fly home? Anyone have alternative options or should we just book flight from Vancouver to home?
