Nick560
I know that playmakers is considered a specialty restaurant but are you able to go in there and sit at the bar and use the drink package? Looks like a very cool spot. RCIfan1912
Matt
Yes, @Big Dawg Ron can personally attest to this being a thing LandstromCruise, RCIfan1912 and WAAAYTOOO 1 1
Diesel
You sure can! Playmakers might now be our favorite venue for hanging out and putting our drink package to work. Watched more soccer during our week on Navigator last spring than I've probably watched in my entire life! RCIfan1912
PL8SWPR
Prices on food are extremely reasonable too. Wings are cheaper (and bigger) there than most local places we go to on land. WesKinetic
OCSC Mike
FWIW, they have two of my favorite signature drinks there... Goalpost Margarita (Jalapeno pineapple) and The Pitch (modified Long Island).
Nick560
That is great to know. I am thinking Playmakers will be where I spend most of my time outside of the pool deck lol. Thanks everyone!! OCSC Mike
Va4fam
If you don't have a drink package, Playmakers is home to one of the best values on Royal---the under $20 pitcher of beer. You get 4-5 beers for $16-18.
Psycho and Barb
We always go to Playmakers at least once a cruise...Especially love the size and layout of Playmakers on the Quantum Class Ships. Great place to enjoy a few cold beers and some wings on a sea day. Nick560
Mr. K
Is there a charge for the pool tables at Playmakers? Are there more than 1 pool tables there as well?
Ampurp85
Funny enough if you look on the app, Playmakers is considered a bar and not a specialty restaurant. But no charge for the billiard table and I think I saw one Freedom but possibly two on Oasis. Nick560

No charge for the pool tables. Only 1 table on Navigator and it was fairly worn.
Mr. K
Thanks for the response Diesel. I'll be on the Oasis and I believe there is 1, maybe 2 in Playmakers, but also the music place where they do Karaoke that has the upstairs lounge and bar is supposed to have a few that I've seen on some review videos. DDaley
Yep, there are 2 on Oasis but they’re in rough shape if you expect the balls to stay in place and the cues to have chalk! The play area in the Playmakers on Oasis is such that the cue hits the walls when you’re shooting from 2 of the 4 sides of the table. Best pool tables we found were upstairs in The Music Hall! Ampurp85
The reason they are in bad shape is because lots of children play on them and they don't actually now how to play. I was almost hit by an errant ball as some 7 or 10 years tried to get anything on one of the pockets.

If you have the dining package, you can get up to $20 worth of food there each day, in addition to your other dining reservations. So a lot of times we will do that for lunch instead of Windjammer or another specialty reservation. And as @PL8SWPR said, even if you don't have the dining package and just want to grab a snack there, the prices are very reasonable.
JFCruise
Can I go there and just sit and watch a game if it's on, without needing to actually buy anything - food/drink? I read that it's a bar, but I'm also reading here that kids are allowed.

It's not like bars on land. Playmakers even has video games kids may enjoy.

I read that it's a bar, but I'm also reading here that kids are allowed. We travelled during football season last year and watched most of the primetime games without issue and without ordering food. We waited until it was relatively quiet and and there were open tables but I am not sure how much they would have cared either way. We were ordering drinks so that might have made a difference. This was on Oasis and it was relatively quiet by 830-9. JFCruise
