chy
Hi, I had some questions about the coffee on RC ships, specifically the Navigator. I have the DBP and want to get the most use out of it by also buying some coffee at the cafe. I know the ships have Starbucks, but i dont want to be paying for that when I've purchased the DBP. Though, I am kind of picky when it comes to coffee. So, i was wondering is it good for the cafe? Do they have ice coffee and things like flavour shots or milk alternatives like oat milk? SpeedNoodles
My husband is picky about coffee but he is always happy with the coffee that he gets at Cafe Promenade. ChessE4 and cruisellama
ChessE4
Bring your preferred sweetener if that is essential. rjac and FireFishII 1
Rackham
The coffee is fine, paid or included. Royal's food service is the equivalent of a land-based hotel with an attached convention center. It's decent and enjoyable. However, I rarely have any complaints, but I rarely have any raves either. mom2mybugs
We’ve always gotten the included mochas and lattes at cafe promenade or lattetudes on the smaller ships and it’s always been great. I like Starbucks but I’m not a coffee snob. They seem close enough for me. Jane
ScottD
You can use your drink plan for Starbucks lattes and drinks at the cafes and shops on the ship..just not at the actual Starbucks kiosk
AndyPandy
Got to say I complained re the MDR coffee, it was poor, they gave me free speciality coffees. Note, for context. I was in a suite, and I complained, at the officer meeting to the beverage manager. He asked the question, what I thought, I gave an honest answer. I wasn’t looking for anything. alaska mcleods
Is there oat milk at cafe promenade? Flavored syrups to add?
Last2Know
WJ and MDR coffee is my preferred caffeine delivery system when I'm onboard. Just like Navy coffee, its hot, strong, and plentiful. MissBoston, tonyfsu21 and teddy 2
Maggie M
I'm not a fan of it so I usually go to the specialty coffee shop (Starbucks if they have it) or the Diamond Lounge - their espresso's taste better to me than what is included and available around the ship. jbrinkm
My husband and I both thought that the MDR had much better coffee than elsewhere on the ship (Allure, April 2022), ESPECIALLY Windjammer. Promenade was ok. MDR > Promenade > Windjammer (IMO). We had a coffee card and I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed the MDR coffee that we ended up scrambling to use up our punches in the Promenade at the end of the cruise. Since the Promenade now uses Starbucks coffee, I may enjoy it more on our upcoming cruise but personally I hope they didn't change what they were doing in the MDR. dustfsu
I am not coffee drinker, but the last cruise we were on most of the time my mom would get coffee in the MDR after dinner and she said some nights it was good and some it was ok. So I guess some of the staff make it better then others or she got a older batch, not really sure.

Haven't ever considered oat milk. I mean we all know what corn milk is, booze. But I did Google oat milk, and I am now inclined to try some. I like their roast coffee that you can get for free in many places.
