paper receipts

I have the refreshment drink package and I do plan on having a few alcoholic drinks, I know it will show up in the app on the phone and on the tv in the room we will be staying in, can I ask the bartender for a paper receipt when I order my drink just in case there are discrepancies between myself and Royal Caribbean check out billing?

I have received paper receipts on occasion for drinks, but mostly not.  I also don't think I've ever been overcharged or double-charged for anything ever.

I suspect if you asked for a receipt, they'd be available.  I also suspect they are not always offered, as most folks don't want to be bothered.🤔

On night before disembarkation our account was billed 5.61 for diamond voucher drink--a simple glass of wine. No paper receipt. So I believe in tracking. Guest Services fixed it.

Diamond/plus vouchers will now be getting a receipt that has to be signed for on every drink. I see this as an inconvenience, but they cite the number of complaints about the tally for the day etc. so I can see the validity of their doing this. For me it's also an opportunity to not have to carry cash as I can now put a tip on the order.

Yep, last trip I forgot cash a couple of times when I left the room!

Utilized 2 drink vouchers at the same time yesterday.  The bartender printed the obligatory 2 pieces of receipt, but only gave me one.  I had my own pen and signed the one copy he gave me,  and asked if he wanted it back. He seemed confused then said yes.  So I’m not sure what their instructions are in regards to these receipts.  I of course had an opportunity to write in a $ for a tip (I did cash), so I’d think it’s in their benefit to give us the receipt to sign.  Maybe they didn’t want to explain why the receipt is handed out now?  Maybe because I tipped cash immediately he didn’t bother giving a receipt with a pen?

Both drinks "charged" on one receipt?

Was there a voucher tracker showing how many drinks you had left?

As @ashleydillo stated Royal said the paper ticket will have drink voucher count on them so you know how many you've used.

However I suspect it's also presented as an opportunity to garner a tip.  In the past when I have had unused OBC left over in a small amount that's not worth going to the casino for I've asked for a paper copy so I can give away the OBC as a tip.

I asked because I haven't seen the tracker yet. I am on Oasis and was too lazy to go do my own research. I know it was stated they would have a tracker in the email.

I read someone got 6 sodas at once with vouchers and got 6 receipts..so I was curious about the experience @Pattycruise had 😁

Not that I expect all the ships to handle it the same way. They never seem to universally implement procedures consistently across the fleet..why start now? 😂

I like the idea of providing receipts for Diamond drinks.  On our last cruise to Alaska, my wife and I ordered a drink during dinner and used our Diamond vouchers.  The next evening, after a long port day we stopped in the schooner bar for our first drinks of the day.  When the bartender handed my wife her drink he told her she only had 2 Diamond vouchers remaining.  We eventually figured out that Royal had applied our dinner drinks from the previous evening to the next day.  In this case it wasn't an issue, we weren't going to use all of Diamond vouchers being very tired from a long port day so we didn't say anything but I could see this being an issue under different circumstances.

I’ll look closer next time  he took my copy   My bad though because I did not read it and ASSuMEd he did it correctly. I’ll take a closer look today when I get drinks and let you know

Just got my drink from schooner. 1 receipt they had me sign and return it.   There is nothing indicated to say how many drinks I have left. In the app it shows my drink I received in Schooner.  Again, nothing that indicates how many are left.  The bartender said we can ask him.

another patron ordered 2 drinks and they had him sign 2 receipts. (This was contrary to my experience yesterday at another bar, it was 2drinks/1 receipt)

for those curious  my drink of choice today Dark and Stormy, figuring the ginger beer will assist with motion sickness.  It helps!  Also be sure and ask for the rest of the can of beer….after all you paid for it!

Gotcha..so they're still working on the tracker piece then 😂  Sounds like a job for the intern.

  1. The receipt has a count of your vouchers to help you better track how many you have left. So if you’re a Diamond member, and you have 4 a day – it may tell you 2 of 4 have been redeemed.
