twangster
Also interesting is Quantum class setting the Solarium as a vax zone. For Alaska that should be notable for those with unvax. No issue for me but I'd hate to lose that access if I wasn't vaccinated. There are some great views forward approaching glaciers and in the inside passage from the Solarium. Masks and no casino for unvaccinated. Why do you think they are making vaccinated people still wear masks? Are they following CDC or making it up themselves because of the fact that unvaccinated will be on? Is this RC making these rules? I do not want to wear a mask going around the ship. There is a lot in play with that case. The CDC has turned to an appellate court in Atlanta to halt the injunction that would free the cruise lines and allow them to set their own protocols. That was Wednesday. No outcome from that yet. Stay tuned. At least for now the cruise lines must follow the CDC requirements in the US. Doesn't that still remain in effect so RC can't require vaccinations? So won't RC still be nervous of having unvaccinated on boat? I know I would be. I can't believe the governor just can't allow cruises to be an exemption
ClockingOut
I see that on Allure, the Solarium bistro is open to all but the Solarium pools and whirlpools are only allowing Vaxed... does that mean unvaxed can go in the Solarium but not in the water? As far as Governor DeSantis and his not allowing businesses to ask if you are vaccinated, ie, cruise lines, I think it its a mistake, but RC is getting around that by "strongly" encouraging all to be vaccinated, and, to me, making it much more difficult for those who aren't vaccinated to cruise
LifesEz
What, me worry? I am vax'ed. Let the unvaxed board, sit at my MDR table, chat beside me in the casino, laugh and cheer at the entertainment right next to me, come visit my SC cabin without a mask, have the same freedoms I have on board. And children are not a problem with CV-19, so do not restrict others for bringing their children. It is a 'Family Cruise Line'. Before any wonder, I am a father of 9, gained 6 more children when I remarried, 40 Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, but not to worry, none are cruising until March 2022, so I have no horse in the unvaxed children issue. I understand the risks. I understood them before I made the reservation, when the CDC had released no requirements. I understood them when I made the reservation before there was a vaccine. Some may feel me foolish, but the standard for rights in America has always metaphorically been, "Others freedoms end where my nose begins." I know, airborne virus. But according to the same CDC that started this dilemma, I am all but no way a carrier or high risk for serious recipient of CV-19. I am tired of Big Brother looking over my shoulder. fireclan, BrianB, Ogilthorpe and 2 others
BrianB
Just my opinion. I’m sitting at bars and in restaurants here in NJ with people who may or may not be vaccinated…nobody is masked. Surely the children at the next table are unvaccinated and unmasked. I go to stores, entertainment venues, parties, malls and public places where it seems life is almost back to normal and hardly anyone is masked. I understand the reasoning given aboard a cruise ship is because so many are there for so long. But, how long does it take to spread from one to another? If aerosol is the method of spread, then a single breath should be enough. I think the air circulation and cleaning protocols now in place on cruise ships are way superior to those in other land based places. Their future business depends on showing how cruising can be a safe and healthy vacation destination. I am in no way diminishing the terrible effect this pandemic has had on anyone. I say this because some of my friends have as their default position…”how dare you ignore those who have suffered”. But I think it’s time for a reasonable relaxation of the CDC’s stranglehold…and I think the next couple of weeks will be the time when that happens. Just my opinion. fireclan, Ogilthorpe, LifesEz and 3 others 4

I'll just hang out in the solarium without my mask. I dislike wearing a mask as much as the next person but don't mind wearing one inside from point A to point B if it means I can be on a cruise ship again! twangster
M-chelley
The bamboo room on the Mariner was just changed to a vaccinated only venue for August cruises. I wonder how much more will be taken away before sailing. I'm vaccinated, but the rest of my family is not and won't be. WAAAYTOOO
