This is for each member, that’s two if you and your wife/partner go together. One photo each but I think that is the same as D. There might be some other things as well, eg welcome gifts etc. I guess except 2 days internet . And no more concierge lounge ?

Christina M
We are D+ and have never used the concierge lounge. We’ve always been content with D lounge. HOWEVER- We cruise on Grandeur often and (because of my husband’s health/mobility issues) have always been grateful for the “reserved” seating in back of theater for Pinnacle and D+. It was extremely disappointing to find that reserved seating in that section is no longer available to D+. Only to Pinnacle and SUITE guests. I know that there are wheelchair accessible spots in back of the theater but he doesn’t use a wheelchair... only a cane. He was so disappointed that he no longer goes to the shows on Grandeur. TropicalTom
I am D+ and I am fine with this. The numbers demand it. But I will miss the days when D+ actually meant something. columbus_cruiser

dswallow
It's worth noting that Pinnacles have lost access to the Concierge Lounge and Suite Lounge on the Adventure of the Seas sailings out of Nassau. However you look at it, it's simply unsustainable to continue to offer benefits that require dedicated spaces aboard ships when the pool of eligible members for those benefits never shrinks (other than through death). These sort of perks need to be more limited to members not just reaching a tier level, but continuing to retain some sort of similar tier-based level regularly, much like airline frequent flyer programs or even Royal Caribbean's Casino rewards program. Otherwise things like providing benefits to tier levels across the entire ship are the sorts of perks they can reasonable offer, like the SeaPass-card-loaded drink vouchers. This will become even more a concern as all the double-point-offer sailings occur and people reach higher tier levels even more quickly. ChrisK2793
RCL I’m sure is look looking at it this way ….. at what point does having Diamond Plus and Pinnacle allowed in the concierge or suite lounges cause them to be so packed that it’s no longer a good experience for the suite guests who are CURRENTLY spending a huge amount of money to be on the cruise. YES, we all spent a lot of money to get to our levels, BUT if you’re barely spending anything for a regular room (compared to a suite guest) on your CURRENT cruise ….. at what point is it no longer fair to the CURRENT suite guests to have their lounge packed to the gills with people who are paying much less than them to be on the CURRENT cruise? dee02554 and LifesEz

Couldn't the perks change back in time after enough have voiced a negative opinion?

The original post about this change is from January 12, 2020 ….. so this was a Pre-Covid decision to originally start limiting access to Diamond Plus and/or Pinnacle. cruisellama

Linda R
I am Dia+ and totally understand why we cannot go in to Concierge lounge. Although I certainly would like to. I have also been told by cruise staff that it depends on the ship, size of the lounge, and number or people traveling who are pinnacle or Dia+. That does make since. I also always do a spring transatlantic cruise annually and those cruises have more older passengers and more with higher loyalty status. The lounges are always packed. barjpoe
Why can't the open up the larger evening lounge, ie like on the Radiance class the aft lounge on deck 6 from an hour before 1st dining to the start of 2nd dining or maybe start taking away the food a half hour before so that at 8PM they could start the evening entertainment in there. I know they do when there are a lot of Ds on board (mainly TAs). In the morning the D lounge wasn't too crowded, people just coming in to get their coffee; others stay a bit, but don't linger. The D lounge is available all day, to avoid crowds/quiet time, they may have some food - fruit? cookies? and the coffee machine.
silentfaith
So, we used to go to the lounge early AM to get cappuccino and take it back to our room, wonder if that is still allowed? D+ and 1 month to go till we sail on the new ODYSSEY hiphiphoray.

For Odyssey I don't expect Pinnacle's to have access to the Suite Lounge unless they are staying in a full suite, at least until sometime into 2022. I think we'll all be using the coffee machine in the Diamond Lounge. I've sailed Anthem a number of times and been restricted from the Concierge Club but in every case they overflowed the Diamond Lounge into the Music Hall and it's worked quite well. If you can get past the emotions of being kept out of the Concierge Club whenever it has happened to me the expanded Diamond Lounge offerings has worked out very well. No one really knows what the lounge rules are going to be when US cruises resume, but based on information from other recently resumed cruises and recent history before cruising paused, the Concierge and Suites Lounges were off limits for D+. With COVID restrictions in place I would be very surprised if D+ could access the CL on OY. The GOOD news is, it sounds like there will be some beverage vouchers provided that will probably provide you better coffee than you could get in the CL ! Again, no one knows for sure quite yet but that's been the scuttlebutt.
