12thman
Thought I'd mention this. Needed some cash so stopped by the casino cage to ask where the atm is. There's a sign there (I'll post a pic as soon as I go back to the casino) that says Allure no longer does cash advance from the cage. Now you get cash from the table or slot machine. There's no fee I'm aware of as when I took some cash it showed up as a normal charge from Royal. Don't know if it's available on other ships but you might visit the casino cage and inquire. AshleyDillo
There have been reports of it working on several other ships. No charge to pull it out off the slot machine. I used the slot machine to liquidate my OBC when I was on Allure a couple weeks ago. If you use a credit card to pay you onboard account you will see a single charge from Royal Caribbean after the cruise which is the balance of what you owed for your onboard account. My credit card categorized it as a travel charge so I got the extra bonus kickback for that type of charge.
12thman
Find it a very convenient way to get cash without incurring a fee. Unless you play the one arm bandit.
cobra614
Are you prime in the casino royale program? From what I've learned if so you do not get charged the normal 5% charge. We went on our first cruise and both reached prime. So I think I'll just "download' our casino bankroll for the credit card bonuses.
AshleyDillo
There was no charge for anyone on my cruise, prime or not. I was used to the 5% charge as I usually cashed out OBC in the casino at the cage. The slots aren't set up with a charge at all currently. It's my first Royal cruise so I could be wrong.

What is the procedure to get cash from your credit card from the slot machine being prime. I will be on Allure this coming Sunday

They will give you a slip of paper with instructions. You use your set sail card to do it. You insert it into the slot machine and follow the directions on the paper. You get credits in the slot machine, just hit the cash out button take it to the cage or redemption machine to get your cash. I didn't incur any fees nor did it show up as a cash advance on my card. But when you reach a balance of $500 on your set sail account they will charge your card. This could be from getting cash at the casino of say $300 then a purchase at a gift shop of $200. Your card will be charged the next day at least that's what happened to me. Enjoy your cruise!! Matt

I will be on Allure this coming Sunday Your credit card needs to be linked to your onboard account, meaning that's what you set up when you checked in for the cruise. Then you will sit at a slot machine and insert your SetSail pass. Select ACCOUNT. Then select PERSONAL BANKER. You will be asked for your PIN number. If you haven't set one up then it will default to your birthday as MMDD. You will then select TRANSFERS. Select ROOM CHARGE. Then you can select a preset amount or select OTHER and enter in your own dollar amount. You are asked to confirm the charge. Success! Added to the slot machine. From there you hit COLLECT on the machine and it will print out a ticket. whitsmom, Matt, LCWind and 7 others 4 5
Matt
Getting the cash from the slot machine was super easy. Shoutout to @AshleyDillo for the good guide. Big Tule
AshleyDillo
Take this ticket to the cashier at the casino cage or to the magic money machine and there's your cash! And it shows up on your onboard account as Club Royale Entertainment Games. No 5% charge. Also note I am NOT prime in the casino and was not charged. Currently there doesn't seem to be a charge on the slots for cashing out this way. (Also note when you get a OBC because of hurricane shortened cruise it appears as a shipboard incident lol) EmptyNestTravels

WAAAYTOOO
So it looks like I owe someone (can’t remember who it was) a huge apology for insisting that Royal did not allow you to get cash from your onboard account at the slot machines. I’m sorry...to whoever it was. Is this something new ? I don’t remember (obviously) being able to do this although, I am NOT a slots player so maybe you could always do it and I just never knew. I recall many years ago asking if you could do this and was told “no”. It’s a terrific capability to avoid the 5% convenience fee. Can you do it more than once or beyond the $500 ? I did it several times, but I don't know what the limit was or if there was one. My total that I cashed out was less than $500 as I was doing it to take my OBC from the shortened cruise in cash form and I didn't have the right credit card set up (out of pure laziness lol). I started with $100 just to see if there was ever a fee charged and when I saw it posted as $100 straight up then I did it a few more times to eat up the OBC. And to double check I compared the invoice I was mailed at home and it all matched up with no extra charges. IRMO12HD

We need a non-Prime test subject to verify the fee aspect.

LCWind
The 5% fee applies if you are not Prime and you ask for a cash advance on a table game. The fee does not apply when you withdraw cash from the slot machine. DDaley, AshleyDillo and ChessE4 1
