did anyone else catch the tweet in the OP that stated 2 days before departure that Royal is moving departure from Tampa to Port Canaveral?? What a logistical nightmare that must be for travelors! 2 days before your departure:
    Airline tickets - Check!
Online Check in done - Check!
Airport transfers and/or hotel reservation in place - Check!
    Dog sitter - Check!
Change of port of departure by 128 miles - OMG!

The Port of Nassau is tired, run down filthy and not very appealing at all unless you are going on a sanctioned excursion to places like Atlantis or Pearl lsand. I agree that any tourist in any city should be wise in how they explore a new city but when the cruise line is adding an additional warning to its passengers attention should be paid.
Nassau is very convenient for cruise ships clearly. I am sure many ships register in the Bahamas as well but I would much rather have an extra day playing at Coco Cay or at sea or even throw in a day trip to Key West than waste a full day stopping at a port that I won't bother leaving the ship for.
As long as there is a continuing stream of new passengers with new adventures on their mind I doubt that Royal would consider an itinerary change though.
The cinic in me wonders if a letter like this is an intentional statement of the obvious but will push some passengers toward paid for excursions.

I have no ill will against Nassau, but out of the Bahamas ports my favorite stop is CocoCay, we cruise in March and am looking forward to the stop there, I can assure you that when we stop in Nassau this time we will be staying onboard Anthem (for the first time) and enjoying everything that she has to offer.  My only issue with Nassau is that too much stuff is tied into Atlantis and its way too expensive because of that.  We have been to Nassau at least 5 times already so we have more than enough  souvenirs, and are looking forward to being able to relax with fewer people on the ship! ?

The only ship that has had nasty drinking water was Navigator on our Thanksgiving Cruise.  After the second day it tasted fine.  Usually the ships water is very good.

My wife's solution in the past, present, & future:  she hands hers to me to carry, or just leaves hers in the cabin safe and we 'sail' on mine.

Fourth vote for using the port parking. Used it in October, super convenient and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Plus, it's got full security / cameras / etc. so you've got peace of mind your car won't have been vandalized while you were away.

I happened to notice on Anthem at Thanksgiving that they were playing the "featured movies" available on-demand for $12.99 in your cabin for free on the gargantuan screen on all movie nights. Maybe thats normal but it impressed me.

FWIW, I always park at the port. Convenience factor outweighs the slight savings from parking offsite IMO.

Stay with the port parking @ $20. It is safe in the parking garage. Just a few steps you are at cruise check-in line. We arrived at the port around 10:15 am then dropped off our luggage, short drive to the port parking garage then walked a few minutes to the security line to check our carry on bags. Checked in with RC. We were onboard Anthem OTS around 11 am and sipping our first drink.

I tried chrome and internet explorer for the last two weeks. I tried my home computer, Ipad,  laptop and work computer.  None of them can get to where I can make a payment.  I do not know why people are saying to call, when R.C. should simply fix the problem.  I know I will have to call rather then having the convenience of doing it over the internet. I guess I can do that right after i am done washing my clothes in a river and churning the butter.  I may even get rid of the horse and buggy and get a car. All will be faster then R.C. fixing a simple web page issue. R.C. bring back the old reliable web page.  "If it ain't broken, don't fix it"

    Welcome to the message boards.
I just completed a Canada/New England cruise on Adventure a couple days ago that started in Canada on Oct. 8.  In my case it was a one-way repositioning cruise from Quebec to Ft. Lauderdale but it stopped at many of the same ports.  Adventure will now spend it's winter in Florida and this was the cruise that moved her Southbound to her winter home.
Being an October cruise it was definitely cooler and jacket weather until we reached the warmer waters of Florida.  In July or August the weather will be much warmer.
My live blog can be found here in the message boards at RoyalCarribeanBlog.com:
    https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/9521-adventure-ots-13-night-snowbird-migration-quebec-to-ft-lauderdale-oct-8-2018/
By looking at the photos in each port you can judge what people are wearing.
Anthem is a cool weather ship.  She was designed to be used in cooler climates and features a very nice covered Solarium that Adventure does not.  In this sense she would be a much better October New England ship compared to Adventure but the outer decks and balconies will likely be cool in October.

If something is hanging in your closet and it needs pressing then dont bother before you pack it. Plan to have it done on the ship I say. You are on vacation after all ?

whenismynextcruise reacted to Neaxan in No notice of final payment, no grace period!
In my booking confirmation Royal clearly stated that there would be no reminders for final payment so I planned accordingly - put my own reminders in the calendar and paid with a bit of error margin to account for possible transfer delays. I can't see any fault with Royal here, their terms and conditions clearly state they're allowed to keep the deposit if you "cancel" with x days left - not paying the final payment equals cancelling. Blaming Royal for your oversight seems a bit unwarranted. If you need help keeping up with your payments you can always use a TA.

May I suggest you either use a travel agent next time or mark it on your calendar? I agree with what twangster said all the way. We have to remember our bills. Of course Royal Caribbean is going to take your deposit and charge more if they can. They are a business. Utility and credit card companies charge late fees to make money not to be good or bad.

whenismynextcruise reacted to twangster in No notice of final payment, no grace period!
I get email notices, plus I note the payment dates and put a reminder on my calendar.   Did you provide an email address?
My mortgage company doesn't offer a grace period every month.  My utility company and credit card companies offer no grace period each month.  If I miss a payment there are consequences.
I've started using a travel agency more often now and this is another benefit of doing so - they know the rules and won't let you miss the date.  Payment is processed automatically a full week before final payment due date.
