Nay Posted December 15, 2018 Report Share Posted December 15, 2018 we will be on Freedom in Feb, was wanting to bring a 12 pk of bottled water onboard with us, RCCL rules said u could bring up to 12 17 oz water or soda, but have read comments that they dont allow it anymore. **Also some people have commented that RC isn’t allowing plug in strips any longer. Oliver Posted December 15, 2018 Report Share Posted December 15, 2018 They will allow you to bring water onboard. They have an official policy about it. And I did it as recently as this past July. I would not count on being allowed to bring any plug in power strips. Not many cruise lines allow it due to fire hazards. You can bring a USB hub without any problem usually. I copied this from Royal Caribbean’s website. One of the best things about cruising is the food! And there will be many dining options available to suit most tastes and preferences. However you are free to bring non-perishable prepackaged food in limited quantities. While we have many drink offerings onboard, you are welcomed to bring select beverages onboard. On boarding day, each stateroom may bring up to two 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne, as long as one guest is of legal drinking age. Corkscrews will be provided for guests to enjoy their drinks in their stateroom. If guests wish to enjoy their wine or champagne in our dining or bar venues, there will be a corkage fee applied. Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Milk and distilled water brought on for infant, medical, or dietary use are permitted. Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the two permitted bottles on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. Atlantix2000 Posted December 15, 2018 Report Share Posted December 15, 2018 Well, they stopped letting people put luggage tags on massive amounts of water and getting it delivered to their room. This was actually always against the rules but was ignored by most port personnel. (You weren't allowed to bring any water or soda on board, just 2 bottles of wine per stateroom). Now they have an actual policy that allows a limited amount of water or soda to be carried on by you and they enforce no water/soda in checked luggage. I figured that the $2.99 for the water was worth the experiment the first time I tried it, we had seen people with it on our first cruise. I carried it on, and put it in a rolling suitcase and rolled it around with us without any problems. Up until recently we would carry a case of water, we currently just carry a YETI and make sure that it gets filled. We don't need a specific brand, or have any allergies so it simply works for us, and have found that it is MUCH lighter and easier to carry onboard. The wife did not want to go the YETI route the last few cruises but after she saw the ease of it all, she quickly became a fan. bhageerah Posted December 23, 2018 Report Share Posted December 23, 2018 One thing to add, depending on the ship that you are on they will usually have pre made water in several locations, they do not want you to place your bottle under the fill station directly. As you have already stated on the way out there were quite a few that had to be claimed on the way out. I actually had my luggage pulled for the "naughty room" on my November Enchantment sailing because they were claiming I had an extension cord when the only thing I had was a USB hub . When I went down to claim my bag I had to politely argue with security to try and convince them I didn't have anything. After about 5 minutes of rooting through my bag in the open hallway, they finally relented and let me have my luggage without taking anything, but it was annoying enough that next time I will bring the USB hub in my carry-on. FYI: The Coke Freestyle machines that are part of a drink package will dispense ice to anyone into any container. I washed out a coin bucket from the casino and used it as an ice bucket.
