Carlos A. reacted to Sunny_D in Bad treatment aboard Enchantment bt Next Cruise Manager
Thanks!
By the way, I agree with the general sentiment here—used to work customer service at an electronics store in the 90’s. Hell hath no fury like a self righteous parent attempting to return a VCR with their kid’s grilled cheese sandwich jammed in the slot.

Carlos A. reacted to Xaa in Bad treatment aboard Enchantment bt Next Cruise Manager
My post was in response to another and specifically noted the only side of the story we know. The side of the poster. I'm sure there's more too it, but you aren't even entertaining the idea that the poster may have been treated badly. They may have been and expressing displeasure about that may have pushed an ego driven manager to have them removed. That is also possible. I don't know, but neither does anyone else here.

Carlos A. got a reaction from PPPJJ-GCVAB in Black Friday thread: post the deals you see for your sailing
The same thing happened to me, I thought it was my card so I tried two times, but then I received a confirmation mail from RC and a notification from my bank, even do the page showed that they couldn't process my card. I'm not sure if I will be charged two times or even if my purchases will be honored by RC. What a mess.
And then I tried to check the suites prices for my sailing but the page keeps showing and error saying that there aren't any connecting cabins available when I'm not searching for connecting cabins, weird.

Carlos A. reacted to ScottD in Flight canceled so I changed my airport...
The one that Purdueflyer mentions above provides a shuttle to the port...which is what sold me on the idea. Drop the car, jump in the shuttle and right to the port

Carlos A. reacted to steverk in Unrest in Baja California
Keep in mind that Acapulco is pretty far south and has had a serious crime problem for several years now. Just this morning I read that 2 bodies washed up on the beach.
Very sad. I remember when Acapulco was the destination in Mexico

Carlos A. reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Changes to the app (also 🦞 controversy?! )
Sorry, but I don’t buy their “efficiency” explanation. IMO this is cost savings move and nothing more. The MDR continues its downhill slide. I’m shocked that they haven’t yet declared that this “upgrade” to the menu is intended to “enhance your cruise experience”. I’m sure that’s coming…. After some period of time, once people stop going to the MDR altogether, they will enhance our cruise experience again by ending the complimentary MDR option altogether because passengers were “choosing other options”. Penny-pinching at it’s finest.

Carlos A. reacted to PG Cruiser in Disney returning to in-person Muster Drill
If only Royal can hold on to the SeaPass cards until the guests report to their muster stations. Or probably have guests claim the cards from those stations.

Carlos A. reacted to smokeybandit in Disney returning to in-person Muster Drill
They have to go hunt and find people for the old school muster drill too.
I'd rather they hunt for those people while I'm enjoying a drink than while I stand there packed in like sardines waiting for the crew to find those stragglers.

Carlos A. reacted to PRMLVM in Who wears their Crown & Anchor pin? WHY?
I still mostly stand by my statement that people wear the pins to indicate experience/openness to share that experience (why call attention to it if you don't want to talk to others?)
BUT: I had an experience on Harmony just this week that made me think of this thread. A lady in the row ahead of me at a show struck up a conversation with those sitting next to her. By the second sentence, she said "Well, we are pinnacle which makes us the highest ranking passengers on the ship" (!!!). The conversation was about standing in line and she told her new friends, "Well, since I'm Pinnacle that means I'm the highest ranking passenger on the ship, so I just join any line and as soon as staff sees me they just pull me to the front."
After she got her point across, she really was friendly and gave the other couple (first time cruisers) some very nice advice! So I guess she embodied the best and the worst of the pin-wearers as described in this thread!
I saw her around the ship the rest of the week and my husband and I said, "There goes the highest ranking passenger on the ship!"
Just a story too funny not to share.

Carlos A. reacted to teddy in Food choices Labadee-beef, beef? Beef?
Sorry. I should have been more clear.
I was referring to overindulging and minimal healthy choices, not the offerings in Labadee. I agree with the difference in food between there and CocoCay
I feel that the majority of people want to be able to eat as much as they want whenever they want while on a cruise ship….at least on the mega cruise lines sailing in American markets.

Carlos A. got a reaction from Baked Alaska in Food choices Labadee-beef, beef? Beef?
I'm not sure that customers want awful, greasy, stale food when on Labadee.
CocoCay food for example is in a whole other category compared to Labadee food.

The point I was trying to make is, this experience was reminiscent of a carnival experience.

Carlos A. reacted to tonyfsu21 in Royal Up Results Thread
Royal Up is a hot topic and it might be beneficial to post screenshots of past wins/losses to assist others who may be interested in bidding but don’t have a baseline. Obviously this would be data from past cruises so as to not expose any bids on future sailings you may have. I will start with a win and a loss. Oasis 12/26/21 was a holiday sailing where we were booked in a JS. The 4/12/20 was a GS 1br win from a JS.

Carlos A. reacted to Xaa in SOLARIUM CLOSED FOR ENTIRE CRUISE!
They could have communicated it as soon as they know for a major space like that. Not saying they should accept cancellations beyond final payment date without penalty, but that they should try to communicate it. It becomes a softer blow by cruise time if it has had a chance to settle and isn't a slap in the face when onboard.
No need for them to go to the extreme, but they could have at least taken 1 step. That would have been better IMHO.

This guy sounds like a DL concierge I crossed paths with on Harmony back in 2016. At that time, I was still Emerald but my SIL, who was Diamond, needed some assistance and asked me to come with her into the lounge to translate, since she only speaks Portuguese.
He wouldn't even let me finish my first sentence without interrupting to ask for our cards and as soon as he saw mine he just about had a fit. You'd think I'd committed a mortal sin, daring to step into the hallowed ground of his D lounge as a lowly Emerald. Of course, by this time, everyone in the lounge is looking to see what's going on and eventually I lost my patience and interrupted his rant to say loudly enough for everyone to hear, "If you speak Portuguese and can help my sister-in-law without a translator, I'll leave immediately. Do you?" And that finally took the wind out of his sails.
I'm happy to say that since becoming Diamond, I've never again encountered poor service from the concierge but my experience shows that you're not alone. And he definitely deserves a negative mention on your questionnaire along with all the others who failed you.

Carlos A. reacted to Adriana in Just venting
Oh my. So, I stepped out of my comfort zone and went to explain some of the issues with the Diamond concierge. I started simply by asking about the Key luggage tags, that I received a letter about the tags, but not the tags and if I need to pick them up somewhere. He brusquely told me to just wait and I will get them. Okay, so they will they be in my room? “ Wait. You will get them.” Okay, thank you. I then began to explain what happened with my cabin and that since is my first time as Diamond, I was so excited to see the paperwork and the other things that we get. He told me it was in my cabin. I explained again that a family was in my cabin and I had to be moved (he did not care about that issue) and received nothing, was only able to go find my luggage, did not get anything. He was not phased. He took out a letter explaining the benefits and said as I was so late, no point in giving me the invitations to the top tier events as I missed it. I apologized for not coming sooner ( I actually felt bad at this point). I asked if that was it, nothing else with starting Diamond? I thought there was a pin or chef gift (just excited about the little things, I am a dork that way), so asked if there was anything else. He said just the letter at this point. At this point I felt bad for going, his tone seemed like I was bothering him, so I just thanked him and left. @WAAAYTOOO, @karl_nj, @Ampurp85, @Allen2 @sk8erguy1978@SimGuy
@Pattycruise And everyone, thank you for the encouragement! I tried, but doesn’t seem to be my cruise. All good, grateful for the positive parts.
