I know.  It was kinda weird when I opened the email, had their names, addresses, their booking number, I am an honest guy so I just deleted the info and the email and called RC.   There wasn't any more personal info beyond that so I wasn't concerned.  But months after the fact I'll take the points.   Funny how it appears I went on a solo cruise.   Oh well.

Our daughter is now 7.   On a couple past cruises we have taken her on she wanted a sea pass, mainly just to be like us and wear it on a lanyard.  Lol.   Anyway, we went to guest services and they issued her an extra one.   We keep track of the real one.  They asked what we wanted it to do and we said just to work in the cabin door and not able to be used to purchase anything.   Not that she would but just in case she were to drop it or lose it.  You can set a certain limit also is what we were told but I'm not sure if its a daily limit or a total limit for the whole cruise.

We do enjoy larger cabins from time to time but generally just get interiors to save money and really aren't in the cabin much.   We just got back from a 5 night on Empress and the cabin was smaller than some other interiors we have had.    We asked the room guy/steward to split the beds and it created alot more useable space and an aisle to get out of bed without trying to squeeze by cabinets.  He gave us a funny look and asked "are you two ok?"   Lol!   Yea, we are fine, happily married.   Anybody else do this or are we strange?

BTW, this is interior cabin 3109 on Empress of the Seas.  We tried a guaranteed cabin (GTY) this time and it worked out just fine.  We will do that again in the future.

Found this interesting.....we were coming back into Miami Thursday on Empress and saw Vision of the Seas there.  Just came in from transatlantic.   That ship seems to be a world traveller, all over the place so I thought it was an unusual sight to be there....I know I've never seen it before.

Agreed.   We will do this again when our daughter comes with us in April on our next cruise and will be on a pullman.   When we first saw that room on Empress I thought to myself Im gonna wake up and have to pee or something and either stub my toe or run into the cabinets trying to get out of bed with them together....lol    Was SO much more convenient this way.

LOL Nothing wrong with it at all!  We had ours split one cruise too.  We were in an interior with our two boys.  They were in two pullmans, and having the beds together underneath that was crazy weird.  They jumped down onto our bed then had to scootch to the end of the bed to get out, or, move over to where the gap was between the beds & the wall then duck to get out.  For us, we had to do the same, scootch to the end or the side (which being an adult made it harder than for the kids).
We asked for our beds to be split, and boy was life easier!  The kids could use the ladder down to the gap inbetween and off they went.  No more plopping on our beds.
We sleep together every night - a week apart never kills anyone!  LOL

A few years back we had quite a few elevator rushers on our ship.   We all know them....the ones who try to rush into the elevator before anyone can get out.  We had a huge guy (largely built and very tall) we seemed to end up in the elevator with quite often and was seated with his family at our MDR table....he was hilarious to talk to and you'd always see him ducking when walking around because his head was not far from the ceilings in some areas.  Anyway, he would stand in the elevator inches behind the door and when we reached a floor and the door opened people rushing in would be met with this towering nearly 7 feet tall/300 pound guy blocking the entire entrance.   Some people bounced off him not looking or just stopped super fast and then looked up in shock.....I still get a laugh out of that.  He kinda reminded me of Herman Munster without the bolts....lol

We had a 10 person table on Mariner. Most of us were middle age but there was one older couple who complained about the service (which was terrific) and the fact that they hadn't been invited to dinner with the Captain and they had on every other cruise. They were real pains as they talked about what experienced cruisers they were and that the ship was like staying in a Days Inn
That night they complained to the Maître D' and were moved. In their place we got a young couple on their honeymoon cruise. They were perfect and we had so much fun. We laughed and told stories.
The next night the waiter said that the older couple wanted back, but we had to agree to asking the young couple to trade. We voted unanimously to stay the way we now were. While we were still eating the old couple came by and said that we should invite them back. We all acted like we didn't remember them at all.

Ten years ago, I took my first cruise and found a different message board similar to this and looked for as many tips as I could find.   One tip that I took away was to take a small box of Cheerios from the breakfast buffet to take with us when we went snorkeling in Cozumel.
I got all situated with my fins, snorkel, mask, life vest and Cheerios and headed out into the water.   I really have very little experience with snorkeling but was enjoying all of the fish that I was seeing.  I decided it was time to feed the fish.  Hmmm, how am I going to open this bag of cereal?  I'm floating in the water and have nothing sharp and only wet fingers.  I worked and worked and finally ripped the bag open, only to have the cereal all go flying in the water around me.  Instantly it was a feeding frenzy and there were fish all around me, touching me and gobbling up the cereal.  I freaked out - and quickly got away from all of the fish that were surrounding me.
Needless to say, my friend's container of Cheerios went back on board with us.  Unopened.  ?

I mean, I totally can. Ryan and I laugh about this whenever we go to Labadee now. "HEY, WANNA TRY THE ZIP LINE AGAIN?"
SO... second cruise with my at this point soon-to-be in laws. It had already been kind of a comedy of errors, and now we had our first visit to Labadee and it was raining pretty much all day. We had a 10 am zip line time, and until probably 3 in the afternoon we alternated between shopping around and checking back to see if we could get on the zip line. Eventually, there was a break in the rain and we were able to get going. We completed the practice zip line no problem.
Finally, we make the long steep drive to the top of the zip line. It's HIGH. Full of nerves, I quickly raise my hand when asked who wants to go first, because if kept standing there it would keep getting worse. Ryan and I get strapped in, getting ready to leave the rest of our family behind at the top.
We get let go and start our decent. For a couple seconds, it's amazing and gorgeous. And then we realize the rain picked up again, and we're getting pelted with sharp little bits of cold rain. And then the WIND picks up. We feel ourselves getting blown sideways, and slowly coming to a stop. All five of us stop very far from the ending platform... in a rain storm with wind and huge waves beneath us. We were later told by our family that the operators were laughing at us before the rest of the crowd made the scary descent back down the muddy hill and in to the beach area.
Meanwhile, we're still dangling over the water soaking in the rain. Eventually, the tour operators form a plan and they run in to the choppy water (getting pulled under continuously) to throw me a rope and instructing us to keep throwing the end of the rope to the right until everyone is holding it. After we're all holding it, they take the other line back up to the beach and start pulling us to the end platform.
The very first words from anyone's mouth once our feet touched the ground - "You're getting a full refund!" ... ?
So yeah. That was my first visit to Labadee.

Yea, I smoke....wife doesn't either.    However like you said I did enjoy the smoke free interior areas like the casino on Empress with her because she's happier.  I don't smoke in our home or in our cars so if I feel the need to smoke I just go outside, same on cruises....just my habit I guess

Yes, it was because of rough seas. Boarded Majesty Saturday and upon getting to our state room, we received notification of a sea day followed by an overnight at Nassau. The captain sailed straight to the shelter of Grand Bahama but it was a fairly rough ride for a few hours. After that we went back and forth  just south of the Island with the ship looking for the sunniest weather.  Made for a great sea day.
It did take a couple hours to get over the change, cause hey, this was supposed to be our Cuba cruise. Honestly, having a ball on the ship and love staying over. Not live blogging but will be posting my thoughts on Majesty and Nassau later on.

I can tell you that wind is a major concern when docking at Key West.  That is, if it comes from the wrong direction, the ship becomes a giant sail, and it's impossible to control the docking. This happened to us on a small ship (Grandeur) when the weather was otherwise beautiful.  So at times the port call can be cancelled.  Don't know how often....
