I can share our experience on Freedom.
We went down to the Windjammer about 8am for breakfast and discovered when we were done around 8.30am that they had called every group already and were basically waiting for us to go back to our rooms, grab our bags and leave so they could call the ship "cleared".
It went a little faster than normal 😉

It does happen, especially on the short runs between islands in the Bahamas. I wouldnt count on it though.

I think they went to straight everyone vaccinated over 12 to cut down on the complication of having to think about what cruise goes where.

Ultra spacious is code for what used to be the Family cabins, it must be offensive to somebody to use the word "family" so we dont say that anymore.
Lots of extra real estate but unless you need it i wouldn't do that upgrade.

I know a couple of people who have had success with very low bids, i havent tried personally since im more about getting on board and putting the money towards the drinks than i am upgrading a room i only plan to use to sleeping 🙂

I got vaccinated solely so that I could cruise without dealing with this garbage.
If I have to deal with the garbage anyway I will probably go find something else to do pretty soon.

I bought a 6 pack yesterday as an "emergency" option.
Ticks me off but at least its an option.

If Royal needed to integrate a store front from an external partner with their cruise reservation backend that could be in place any time by 2029.  

We'll agree to disagree that a PCR test can tell you if you're infectious.

I'm in two minds on this one.
On the one hand I don't like the idea of anything getting in the way of getting cruising going.
On the other hand I really don't like the idea of vaccine mandates, opens a very slippery slope in my mind (and yes I know it sort of exists in other areas for other things already) that I don't like being an option with the way the country is already polarizing more and more.
And no its not because I am refusing the vaccine, I have mine thank you and I wear a purple silicone wristband everyday to remind everyone that Royal says I can identify as vaccinated.

Ill take at least one.

When we did the Freedom in July we had an unvax party member with us, the testing in the terminal was no big deal.
If it was just that for the whole group I wouldnt have a problem, but its having to chase down tests for all the party and have backup plans and backup backup plans, etc

It's not a travel reality though, at least domestically. I'm flying across the country tomorrow and the most I have to do is say "I feel good today"

There hasn't been a more accurate test created b/c they still cannot even isolate the SARS COV-2 virus !
