CruiseMsclDad got a reaction from PRMLVM in Best "Bahama feels" beach on CocoCay?
In my opinion, all the beaches on CocoCay are great, it does not take long to walk to all of them so get off the ship early, and go exploring!

CruiseMsclDad got a reaction from ChessE4 in Dining Frustrations
Every time in my cruising history, on RCCL and other lines, as long as I took care of the problem as soon as we got aboard we might have had to be flexible for that first night, but it would be all sorted out for the rest of the cruise, I also confess we have never sailed on a "full" ship, that might have had something to do about it.

Mariner of the Seas, September 9th!

CruiseMsclDad got a reaction from PPPJJ-GCVAB in Icon of The Seas - Single cruiser question!
So I just now looked at prices again D4 - Ocean View Balcony Stateroom for 2 is $1,612.80 pp = $3,225.60 Feb 1st sailing
D4 - Ocean View Balcony Stateroom for 1 is $6,502.15 sp = $6,502.15 Feb 1st sailing
So If I book for 2 people but, only I show up, I would save $3276.55? Is my math wrong or am I missing something? Would not every solo passenger be doing this?

CruiseMsclDad got a reaction from Villageidiot in So I decided to tip bartenders and this is my conclusion
100% true, and they work hard, it feels great to tip anyway, but yes you are correct, there are hundreds of times I have had small things done for me because of tipping.

Lack of kids doesn't always mean maturity. 🙂
I think a lot of vloggers explicitly avoid having children in their shots.
Should definitely be better than the heart of the summer.
Have a great cruise!

CruiseMsclDad got a reaction from Jolly Ogre in Labadee Zipline Booking
Now!, Seriously I wanted to go on Dragon's Fire Flight Line, that is the one where you lay down and it sold out fast, then back in July it came back and I got one reserved, the other zip line, Dragon's Breath Flight Line, that one was always available. SO I learned my lesson I reserve everything early, you can always cancel if the price comes down. I also was never able to get the Dragon's Tail Coaster - All Day Access, that was always sold out, though the single ride is still available.

CruiseMsclDad got a reaction from Neesa in Wait-listed for MDR at 5:30, Mariner
Update! I was to get my traditional dining switched to 5:30, very impressed the past few cruises with RCCL customer service, very fast responses!

I should have prefaced this by saying I did not mean to blame my TA, I think mistakes happen, and she was able to get me a Grand Suite at a really great price, but I will see what my concierge will come up with, I am flexible with my dinner times, just prefer to eat before 8 PM. Thank you for your comments.

CruiseMsclDad reacted to dodgestang in What will Suite Concierge do prior to cruise?
I always ask the concierge to arrange private table with a window for dining ahead of time and then follow-up as soon as I board ;).

Dragon's Breath is 93.99, Dragons Fire I paid 92.99, today it is 102.99. I personally think these prices are high.

Thank you so much for this I am contacting RCCL right now I need a fridge for my insulin, so thank you for letting us know you can request one! Plus also I literally drink a gallons of milk a day so this would help!

CruiseMsclDad reacted to Marmaduke in Stick with Royal Caribbean !!
Hi all, I used this forum/message board 4 years ago when I took my first ever cruise. It was so incredibly helpful and we had a fantastic family cruise on Indy. Unfortunately we do not have the finances to cruise often, but we saved up and went on another family cruise this summer. Unfortunately the date of the Royal Caribbean sailings didn't fit in with the dates we had free (sailing from Southampton UK) and we therefore chose a Princess Cruises sailing. What a horrible experience! If Royal Caribbean was a 10 out of 10 on our last cruise then this had to be a 2 out of 10.
I know you are all dedicated RC cruisers and I just wanted to say......I can see why now! Unfortunately it is going to be a couple of years before we will be able to afford to cruise again but when we do then I won't consider any other Company.
Stick with Royal Caribbean.

CruiseMsclDad got a reaction from Neesa in Solarium access . . . For kids!!!???
I too for some reason have never been bothered in either the hot tubs or the pools, it must be my "sunny disposition" 🙂 I agree with others, the little kids are fine, it is the collage age crowd that can be very disrespectful to some passengers, a good hard stare usually fixes that behavior, drunks though unfortunately require a more hands on approach 😎 On every cruise line I have been on, it is true cold weather cruises, they drop the age limit, not just RCCL.
This is my hot tub smile!

When I was 17 on a family cruise we drove to the port, I kid you not, I brought so many weights, they had me open up my footlocker! My dad was so embarrassed!

Besides extorting him for the 10 score? 🙂 No seriously, be fair and honest, but here is my rule of thumb, if you were going to give an 8, and then they suggest in any way that makes you feel uncomfortable that they really want a higher score, give them a 7. If they are joking about wanting a high score give them the 8, allowing of course for cultural differences. My boys are dead serous jokesters, but I had to explain to them that there can be language barriers, and cultural differences, so keep the joking light.
