Historically I received a credit back on my credit card within 7-10 business days from the change being made. After you cancel your cruise that task is given over to a finance department that handles the exchange. If you have not seen it within 2 business weeks you should call them back. The cruise voucher is an actual voucher that comes to your email address they have listed for you. 

That is how I would do it. I hate to have to but I am so tired of not being able to sit near the pool.The heat is intense so I can't sit far away from the cooling off source. Plus my husbands ankles get tired with all the unnecessary walking.If more folks did this then perhaps the selfish non present folks would get a clue. We were in the Schooner Bar last year on Liberty and I had high heels on. Went to sit down and the man 2 tables over said he was reserving 6 chairs for a party not yet arrived. Stood the whole time and saw that his party never arrived, he left and  others took the chairs.

Having done a cruise where we could never find a chair with few people in the pool, I'm frustrated for sure. I saw someone in the early hours one morning picking out her chair with towels. I only want about a half hour in the sun, so I am guessing most empty chairs aren't changing diapers or getting children snacks. Most are likely out eating lunch, shopping or getting a drink. So I will give it a half hour in the hot tub or pool and then grab a chair this coming cruise.

That’s not my experience on the Oasis class on sea days. It’s quite challenging to find chairs. 

On this note: I started going to the outdoor pool showers to cool off instead of getting in the pool! Quick cool off and no need to wade between bodies ?

I would go to towel station and ask, “Can I remove towels from chairs that no one has been in for 30 minutes?” They will say yes. You remove towels, if person comes back you tell them towel station said to remove. Then they can take it up with the towel station.

Enjoy your time at Guest Services arguing about you un-returned towel charges.  No, you do not get to wander off for lunch and expect to keep your chair when tons of people would like one.  What part of that confuses you?

I feel this post may be intended as satire (at least I hope it is). If not, it seems as though you enjoy a lot of the different amenities and dining options available on ships. the reason for the 30 minute chair rule is so that other guests may enjoy the pool areas while you are off enjoying the other amenities.

I'm merciless with chogs.  On my last cruise, there were 4 sorta suite "cabanas" in the suites-only area that folks staked out at 8AM, clipping towels to chairs.  They'd literally be empty 90% of the time I walked by... hour-after-hour.  After seeing one empty for over an hour I just un-clipped their crap, folded it up on a table and made myself at home.  After reading a book for ~2 hours, I had an indignant couple ask me to leave "their" cabana.  Nope.  Take your stuff and find an empty one (if you can dislodge one of the other chogs).  If you really want to, complain to a crew member that I "took" the cabana and see how far that gets you.

Everything you just said only reinforces why so many people find such conduct to be selfish, self-centered, boorish, and classless.... not to mention rude.
