    My sister has been upgraded but she is high up on the special list...halfway to pinnacle. I on the other hand, am only a little bit special as diamond, close to plus after this and the next cruise, and even offering to pay. It didn't even work when ships weren't very full on covid return. Always balcony and sometimes js so that didn't help.
    That said...if you don't ask you won't get it so why not try.

    Such a simple idea that I never thought of it. There are times when someone is exceptional and we try to acknowledge tha,t and always do in the survey, but your gesture is great. Thanks for sharing.

    I have a box of Thank You notes that I keep with my cruise basics. I always write a note, addressing the person by name, and let them know what part of the experience I really enjoyed. I also include the tip in the note. Then I hand deliver the note to the intended person. I have never used the envelopes, but they are always in the room with other departure info.

    Sorry, I don't buy this.  I don't believe there's any sort of guest profile that follows  you from cruise to cruise beyond your C&A status.  Nothing in my experience backs that up.  Plus I only use the envelopes maybe 1/4 of the time as I usually just hand cash to the crew.

    Thanks. Was looking forward to it but we needed some time to go to the DL to get our discount on the internet...LOL C&A said we can't get the rate pre-cruise.
    Wait...just got another royalup...maybe I will bid 150 each and get a Grand with free internet. lol

    Not sure it has been suggested but since IHG is one of your preferred an in between location would be the Staybridge in Webster. It is about 15 minutes from Hobby and 30 to the cruise port. It's where we will be staying pre-cruise but we also have family to ferry us from the airport and then to the ship with a free 'loaner' car too. LOL

    Not sure it has been suggested but since IHG is one of your preferred an in between location would be the Staybridge in Webster. It is about 15 minutes from Hobby and 30 to the cruise port.     Thanks to everyone for the info. Even without the lounge we are looking forward to being back on Liberty. This cruise was first booked for April 2020 and finally after several rebooks...it's finally going to happen.

    Got a call from my TA today and she is looking to add on the grats for our already booked cruises at the current rate. I told her to go ahead although I really don't see the amount of increase as that much and as I have stated we consider the tips a minimum anyway.

    We always take great care in remembering great service and naming those that positively add to our cruise experience. HOWEVER, we have soured on the survey itself as being meaningful to us, the paying customers. We had a horrible cruise in December, thankfully our only bad one, on Allure. Changed our port from Cozumel to Nassau and CoCo. Just a 4 day trip but Covid was given as the reason but that was bogus given RCL ships were docking in Cozumel. Sat in the ocean, that not cruising, for a whole day before slipping back in port. Food wasn't good...issues were numerous. NOTHING back and even when I spent the time to call and ask why...nada.

    I agree, it was only a short time at the beginning of the Post Covid Restart (2021) with capacities at around 50% or less that they did not open for dinner.  WJ has been serving dinners on all ship for quite a while now almost all of 2022

    I agreed with almost everything you said except for the above quote. I look at this blog as an information site. I want disgruntled and happy RCL cruisers to post here. However, I don't like the one and done drive-bys either. Come here, share your experiences, so that we can enhance each other's experiences.
    P.S. Who the heck goes back and comments on a out of date, ten month old topic?

    Thank you for joining the boards... Your rant concerning a post from almost year ago, during the start up from Covid, misses the mark on so many levels..
    First, read the Cruise Contract that every cruiser signs when they book.  During the first 8-10 months of the restart the situation with cruising was fluid. Ports were canceled because of positivity percentages, Port protocols, etc... 
    Is it disappointing if a Port call is changed or canceled ...Yes. Royal Caribbean did a fine job of compensating those of us whose itineraries were changed mid cruise. "Cruise with Confidence "during this period allowed those with changes to their Itinerary to cancel and re-book WITHOUT penalty.. This is A Royal Caribbean Fan site.
    With your one post I doubt we will hear from you again...That is too bad because there are a lot of experienced and knowledgeable members who post here.
    I've learned a lot from them and I'm very appreciative.

    Saw where it is supposed to be available on most ships by end of March next year. Would love to take a 2 or 3 week cruise where I can work consistently a few hours a day from the ship but need much better internet to do that.

    Personally, the mandatory tipping is not for me as I prefer to provide tips directly according to service. However, too many would be woefully short so I accept it to ensure that a far amount is received by those who serve. We have decided to consider it a minimum and then tip additional where we feel it is deserved.
    And then there are those who wouldn't get a nickel of the daily....
    Back in January we were on the Allure for an 8 day. There was a room steward that was taking care of cabins closer to the elevator on our deck that we passed several times a day. Great guy, always singing and greeted us by name (we had stopped and briefly chatted with him on day 2) without fail. He wasn't taking care of our cabin but the day before we got back to Lauderdale I tipped him because he added so much to our experience. Without knowing what was in the envelope he expressed his gratitude and thanked us for the interactions during the week. I told him that when we got our survey we would mention him and to please keep that cheerful personality on full display as the world needed more of it. The next morning back in Lauderdale we got another big smile and a song.

    We booked our January 2023 Odyssey thru NextCruise while on the ship and we repriced it a few months later...just checked and our onboard credit is still showing.

    Love me some wild mushroom soup. Hence I do the MDR first night, since it's always on the menu then, and get some at Chops. It was AWOL on Allure back in January, as was mushrooms for omelets, but indulged last month on our 7 day Navigator cruise.
