  1. Hi there! Thanks for sharing - we're looking forward to sailing on Jewel in just under 2 months!

Curious if you heard anything regarding passenger capacity? Did the ship feel fairly empty or did it feel like pre-Covid times (since the Windjammer is open for dinner and all)?

I'm getting the sense that some of the smaller/older ships have been slower to fill to capacity while some of the bigger ships are increasing more quickly.

I was on a recent Odyssey sailing and they had branded face masks.  The were ridiculously expensive ($13 each I think). My wife made me buy one though.

We grabbed a couple of these as Christmas presents to go with a gift card we are getting as a gift.

I think they are geniuses with their royalup. Recently we got our royal up right before we sailed. The wife and I got a GS instead of a JS and since then we've booked more cruises but I don't want to deal with all the suspense so now our minimum class has been pushed up. If I was in charge I's create a formula that gave preference to pushing people beyond their normal comfort zone because it's hard to regress, perhaps they already have. All I know is I fell for it, just paid retail for an OS in March because we have an OS in January and I know very well that we won't want to revert back to a GS. A few years ago we were content with a window now look at the monsters they've created.

Similar boat - we've already booked a Junior Suite on Allure for next year based on how much we enjoyed our "Royal Up" to one.

So today all my offered expired except one.  How long after this does it usually take to know if in fact we got the room we put the bid on?

Also trying to decide if I should tell my wife or surprise her when we get to the ship if we get the upgrade.  Any thoughts?

Sometimes until the morning of sailing, sometimes never. In my brief experience, I found out two days before sailing. I've also heard 5 days before. I've also heard stories where it never finalized. It's hard to say, but all expired but one is a very good sign that you're in the running.

  5. The same thing happened with us - we had rain forecasted for almost every day, and even in our day in Cozumel the captain said we had a good chance of rain for a good part of the day.

The weather wound up being lovely, and any rain we did see was short lived and very early in the morning. Even if it does rain, a rainy day at sea is better than a day at work on land! Plus, on a ship like the Symphony there is still lots to do.

No new update here as well.  We probably won't know anything until 2-days out from what I have been seeing(Friday-Saturday of this week).

I have also been driving my wife nuts with updates and info I have seen on the blog.  I am not online all that much with work, but usually check on the blog for info and updates, every other day.  I check the status on the Royal-Up twice daily...🤪

You'll know quickly if it does happen! I saw the charge from royal and the confirmation email come through very close together - all while I was going about my day after checking frequently for a couple weeks!
