Those look like the ones we bought.  We used them for hats, our lanyards (for seapass cards), small evening bag, & to hold our over-door shoe bag holder to the wall. I think we got at least 2 bags of those, plus the magnetic clip type https://www.amazon.ca/ACCO-Magnetic-Clips-2-Inch-5050571613/dp/B007Z7KTVQ/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=magnetic+clip&qid=1572896474&sr=8-6
The clips were good for a few things too, but I mainly liked to use one to hold an old credit type card to put in the slot that keeps the lights on-- we just hung it right there, & popped the card in and out as we came in/left.  You can also clip your cruise compass on the wall for easy reference
A lot of the walls are magnetic too, not just the ceiling, so there are many places to use them

I ALWAYS check the beds first (hotel or cruise) before anything is taken out of my suitcase.  I have never had any issues on a cruise; however, I did at one name brand hotel a few years ago.

Honestly, I last year noticed things going on sale as early as Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon before Black Friday, even before the "sale" banner was put up.  I've found price drops on various things in the cruise planner in between "sales".  I just check the planner frequently and never rely on posted sales.

We have done Alaska twice (one was a cruise/tour) and we have done NE/Canada once.  If you love outdoor adventure you cannot beat Alaska but if you love history you NE/Canada outdoes Alaska.   So both are great depending on what you are looking for.  Also, take into consideration that next year will be the 400 year anniversary for the landing of the Mayflower.  If you sail from Boston or have Boston as a port there will be all sorts of extra things going on because of this major historical event.

Thanks for the feedback! We are looking forward to our first group cruise. It is also our first cruise out of Boston which we will be able to drive to instead of fly to! Oh and another first is that this will be our first cruise at the Diamond level!

My family likes to play L-R-C (Left, Right, Center).  It is small, fast play, and easy even for the youngest to join in.  Not sure if we will even play it with so much to do on the Oasis; however, I keep it in my travel bag so I will be taking it.

Thank you!!! The suite is just as advertised. For a family with kids, this room leaves little to be desired. From the multiple video game consoles, to the ridiculously fast slide (it's faster than the Ultimate Abyss), to the dining room table that converts into an air hockey table, to the balcony that manages to fit a mini ping pong table, hot tub and lucky climber the list of things to do in the suite go on and on. The only negative I can think of is trying to get all the kids to leave the room to explore other parts of the ship. Aside from all the things they manage to pack into the room I'd say the most impressionable feature is the size of the suite. To be able to enjoy such a voluminous living space while on a cruise ship is mind boggling. I know the royal loft suite and the 2-4 bedroom suites have even more square footage, but I don't think they have 2 sets of staircases and 3 ways to go from the first and second floors. This room really lends itself nicely to epoch games of hide-and-seek & tag. This was our first time with RCL, and I was just like SuperNinja endlessly researching every facet of the star class experience to try to know what to expect. I had to know if the Starbucks would be free or not!!! Reading this discussion board and all the helpful advise from all the nice people on it is an invaluable resource.

Here's an example of the default spread we were given without making any special requests. Some of the hors d'oeuvres were interesting, but pretty standard stuff. Couldn't decide between Jamie's or Playmakers for lunch so we just ordered from both and had it sent to the room.

2014 we were on a charter cruise (Monsters of Rock...imagine that). It was on a different cruise line (rhymes with MSC). They did drink packages different. It was a deal, 72 drink TICKETS for $356.00 TOTAL. When we got on board we divided up. I was to go get our VIP stuff and the Mrs. went to the designated bar for our drink ticket. Well, bar could not find our confirmation...good thing I print everything out. By this time, I am back and they hand us a standard envelop with a large amount of ticket inside.  There were 144 tickets in this envelop. Their mistake.  Two nights later, the light on our cabin phone is blinking. We call....Guest services tells the Mrs. "We have your drink tickets here. Please come get them" She explains that we SIGNED for them already. They insist that we come get these tickets....NOT 72 but 144 more drink tickets for a 4 night cruise. SHOTS FOR EVERYONE. WE MADE A LOT OF FRIENDS THAT CRUISE!!

288 drink tickets divided by 2 people 144 divided by 4 days = 36 drinks pp per day or one drink every 40 minutes 24/7

It was thru RCI.  There are several to pick from on how many days/nights that you want.  We picked the 3 due to having to return to work.  It included transportation and lodging but not any food.  It was an awesome experience and we want to go back and stay longer.

Old thread, but just stumbled across it and had to add a story and reply to @SpeedNoodles ?
My husband & I had this exact thing happen to us in 1998 on our honeymoon cruise on Nordic Empress (now Empress OTS).  We got picked as the newlywed couple competing against two longer married couples, and had to say where the strangest place was we ever "did the deed".  I won't say what our answer was here, but it was pretty shocking, and we got recognized all over the ship for the rest of the cruise with congratulations.  We won the game, we'd just gotten married, and people were apparently impressed with our location answer - I'm not sure what the congratulations were mostly for.  Most of the people also said, "How did you do that?!?"  Not only did we get lots of crazy attention the rest of the cruise, but back then they offered a video for sale at the end of the trip of photos and video clips they took throughout the week.  Our Love and Marriage answer was part of the video along with lots of other good shots of us, so we just had to buy the video.  But it was pretty awkward coming home and showing the video to my new parents-in-law who are very conservative.  We had to distract them through the game show clip so they wouldn't notice that part.  Same thing we did recently with our kids who are 11 and 16 yo, shortly before we took them on their first cruise this year.  We showed them our old cruise video so they could laugh at how young and "90's" we looked, but we had to fast forward through the game show part.  You just can't let your in-laws or kids know all the things you did before you got married!!! ?

I go with one as well with the same holder style that @JLMoran uses. The steel cable won’t fall off unless someone actively unscrews the connector.

Hi there Joe. Fellow Joe here. ?
    First, thanks for your service!
Regarding the luggage tags, I've only ever put one on each bag. I use a plastic holder with steel cable that I bought on Amazon. I only put the tag on after my flight, basically on embarkation day before heading to the port, to minimize the risk of any damage outside of what the porters might do to it. Haven't had them fall off / get ripped off, and the holders are going on their third cruise so far with no visible wear and tear.

We sailed out of Vancouver and loved it.  Sailing up the inside passage, we had AT&T cell service the entire time with the exception of and hour or two at the most.  We also did a 3-day inland tour with RCI at the end of our cruise.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect cruise.

Both. Each serves as a back-up in case the other fails. And the chances are I will also have a copy saved as a PDF on a second device, usually my tablet. Can you say overkill?

I think if you use a debit card then they may put a hold on your card (I've never done this though).  I always use a credit card and have never had any holds.

There's a Candlewood, Hyatt Regency, and Westin also in that immediate area..so some other options to research as far as brand preference, price, and amenities.  The area was very clean and safe in the dark.  You could see NYC across the river.
I have found that I can get better prices using rideshares over hotel shuttles, so that's why we tend to opt to get to/from ports/airports that way.  But taxis were also readily available all over.

We stayed at the Doubletree Suites in Jersey City before we left out of Cape Liberty.  We just took Lyft/Uber to the hotel from Newark airport and also to the port.  There was a lot within walking distance of the Doubletree including a PATH station to get into NYC.  There was a grocery store a few blocks up and there was a CVS in the nearby mall to pick up anything you needed last minute before the cruise.
I've stayed at the hotels near the Newark airport just didn't appreciate the location as much as there wasn't much in a safe walking distance so you were limited to what the hotel had onsite for restaurants.  But if you had a flight that gets in really late they are reasonable options.

I loved this itinerary on Anthem out of Cape Liberty in 2017. I loved all of the ports and it's such a difference change of scenery over the Caribbean.
I am doing it again October 2020 as well, but this time on Brilliance out of Boston.
