If they were to ban smoking, smokers would laugh and move on.  Smokers do not need to pay for a vacation to be inconvenienced and definitely do not need a cruise line to push them to vaping.  Most adults like to make their own decisions.
Disney has banned all smoking in their parks, and they are getting hit with boycotts from smokers who will not drop a penny there.

Three tables and some slot machines.  Looks like they put it together for the handful of complainers that cannot seem to live with just a non smoking half of the casino.  The anti smoker crowd is a small but loud subsection of cruisers and I think they understand that.

Good luck with that.   Cruise lines know where the money comes from in the casinos.  Discrimination is not a good thing.

They do.  My wife and I get free drinks in the casino and haven't paid for 6 of our last 7 cruises.  Just use your Seapass card whenever gambling.  Good luck

No.  You will be automatically enrolled in the program by inserting your sea pass card into a machine or presenting it to the dealer/pit boss.  Back before the current Club Royale program, you had to be invited to join !!  Much easier these days.

Just a reminder to those that don't know: You don't need to PAY for gambling with your Sea Pass to get reward points. You can use cash and "Sign In" to a machine with your Sea Pass to gain reward points.

I would be quite surprised if RC hasn't modeled this for future ships. But I'm also sure all their algorithms come back to smoking casinos being much more profitable than having an extra non-smoking one.

You can either pay in cash as you go, or go to any table or slot machine and ask for a charge to your room.  If you prefer you can also get a cash advance or your credit card at the cashier's window.   Since my credit card is attached to my SeaPass it costs less just to charge it to your room.
The good news is if you use your Sea Pass card every time you gamble you get rewards.  Only paid for one cruise in our last 7 cruises.  Casino Royale takes care of the folks that gamble.
They make it very easy to get cash.  GOOD LUCK

I gamble every day of my life without money.  But to gamble with my money on a cruise ship, well, let's just say, that would be an extremely losing bet....and my wife has made that VERY clear and I have a very low tolerance for pain. 😱

Two years ago we were on Explorer and they still had a cigar lounge, and a bartender too. Many of the ships have smoking on deck 4 or 5 besides having it by the pool area.

I believe all the lounges have been converted. You can purchase cigars in the Port Mercantile store on promenade (Oasis class) and located in the duty free shop onboard other class ships. Sadly you can only smoke on pool deck in an isolated section it’s not very exciting.

I'd love casinos to remain smoke free. But I know they won't and I know why they won't and that makes sense from RC's perspective.

All that said I've never found casinos overly smoky. They do a good job ventilating the casinos

Ultimately this will all come down to money.  What is obvious is there is a fairly large group of folks that will not be cruising until all of the testing and mask stuff go away.   Those restrictions aren't in place on land in most vacation spots, avoid the hassles.
Looking forward to see what RCL does this Friday, supposed to be heading out on the Wonder in 2 weeks, hope RCL gets its act together quickly.  We were out in September to Aruba on an 8 nighter and by day 3 the masks were definitely not a thing anymore, so it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be.  It is much easier now to get a test as no one is needing them except for vacationers.

Sorry for those that want a smoke free casino. Do you realize you guys have the rest of the ship non smoking? Why penalize we smokers and gamblers? Because you wat to cross from one side to the other on deck 4? REALLY?

Casinos track the spending habits of gamblers to the point that it is it's own science. That science still shows smokers are more valuable than non smokers, when that changes, so will their rules. I think flavorless, low vapor ecigs could solve the problem with the limited distance between smoking and non smoking sections, since it eliminates the smell, the drift and the second hand issues 50 feet away. But the smokers aren't there yet, especially the high rollers from foreign countries that have higher smoking rates and often much higher bets. I'll bet Royal already has the casino revenue per person from the cruises before the smoking ban and during and those numbers are the reason smoking is back regardless of some people's personal experiences or anecdotal observations. I don't like the musicals and shows, I would prefer they did something else with all that space, time and money but it turns out I'm not in the majority so part of my fare goes to something I don't enjoy. But I'm not mad about it, I understand that a private business caters to their guests, they pivot when it makes them more money or gets them more guests, not less money and guests and they certainly don't make all their decisions based on exactly what I want, they do what works for them.

I’ve been on Symphony since Saturday and they  already have not been enforcing masks in any of the vaccinated areas since day one.  So far the casino has still been nice and smoke free though.
