Thanks, I (wrongly) assumed dining rooms were set up the same on each ship.  OP, my bad.  I do have to say we’ve had MTD on both of our 2022 cruises with absolutely zero issues.  Same table & waitstaff each night, wait time of no more than 10 minutes, many times just waved right in.

I sail Grandeur in like two weeks, according to the app MTD is deck 5 on Grandeur and Traditional is deck 4.

MTD is deck 3.  I would email [email protected] two weeks prior to your cruise and request deck 5.  

I'm fastidiously avoiding any spoilers on social media and everywhere else. I want the full impact!

I will want to stay in the Family Townhouse for a 7 day cruise. I must have to sell either a kidney, multiple cars, or rob a bank first. 🤣

Fairly recent diamond here and currently on Explorer of the Seas. Really enjoying the outside portion of the D-lounge here as a quiet alternative to most of the packed topside areas.  Love the back stairs access from deck 13. Also a nice place to bring up food from the Windjammer when it's packed.  

Not a suite but if your set sail pass mistakenly says suite also you can at least use the suite queue at the terminal.
I've had that happen once.  

Freedom is one of my favorite ships!   Enjoy all that El Loco Fresh and the Viking Crown Lounge and the Lime and Coconut….

Hi all, wanted to share a quick update on this.   I looked at the cost / benefit and it would have been about $1,300 incremental cost (increased cruise fare for the suite, incremental $2.50 daily per person gratuity, concierge gratuity, change fee for the second room, etc).    For me personally, that wasn’t low enough to be a fair trade for the suite benefits.   
 
So I “YOLO booked it” and put the money towards another cruise in 2024!   All goes to show that in the end it’s about the personal cost / benefit tradeoff and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

We just returned from Adventure of the Seas on Saturday, August 27, 2022.  We have discussed our trip and both agree salt air makes clothing shrink!

You have a couple of options, if you change one booking to the suite and add the other guest you will lose the OBC for one booking and the deposit unless it was refundable. Or you can pay a change fee to move the second booking to another date and itinerary order to keep the OBC. The first option would just be a reprice, but OBC should be protected as you aren't doing anything but changing cabin type. 

I think the Viking Lounge on Freedom is such an underutilized space!   Great views up there.   I agree with finding a bartender that you like.  

Not trying to start a debate here about vaccinations …. But I think this would / should be an opportunity for Royal to tweak their guidance on vaccination status in conjunction with lifting the testing requirement.  Eg, testing is only required for those who are unvaccinated (except ineligible children) or not up to date with their boosters.   Just looking out for Royal because they don’t want to be in a situation where they have someone vaccinated two years ago, not boosted, and gets very sick or worse on the ship.

No one asked but I really enjoyed the Viking crown lounge on navigator. Man those views were impressive. Great place to chill,booze, and take in the view. Roderick the bartender made a good martini as well. 

Get rid of the bionic bar and put a real one in its place.  I would also vote for the art auction and crazy number of watch/jewelry shops on board.
