Mike6453 got a reaction from PhillyLady in Flight Options for Med Cruise
Were booked on Greek Isles this August, we plan to book our own tickets to arrive the Thursday before (Sunday Cruise). We have picked out an Airbnb for three nights near the colosseum to do some touring and get adjusted to the time change. This way we also have a buffer in case of a flight issue. We also plan to fly direct.

Mike6453 got a reaction from D Alt in 2 hr and counting wait times
I checked my Odyssey transatlantic October 23, we have two rooms while one was more expensive now (i expected this) the second room we saved 1,452. I called and did the digital queue and they called me back took twenty minutes. very happy....😁

Mike6453 got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Oasis is leaving us in NJ
this was the first season with an oasis class (although technically delayed by covid) before that was a combination of explorer, Anthem and i believe liberty. As anthem will be in the UK/europe it will probably be either another Oasis class, perhaps wonder as she was built after oasis was updated, although there is no mention of adjustable stacks. or it will be an independence class.

Mike6453 got a reaction from Linda R in Transatlantic deals
We booked Odyssey in October 2023 coming back to ft Lauderdale. First time i booked a cruise over a year out but we got a great deal on a balcony cabin. Although looking at the DBP and internet packages the price definitely jumps on fifteen nights

Mike6453 got a reaction from Neesa in Icon is "here"- So what's next?
Quantum class was step back in size after Oasis class and was designed for colder climates. Its not too crazy to think they would build a new smaller class to replace the aging ships. At least the ones that it no longer pays to amplify or upgrade. Given that Celebrity is a sister brand the edge class already provides a blueprint if they want to go that route.

Mike6453 reacted to Lovetocruise2002 in Icon-When will you book?
Booked the inaugural!
Our last inaugural was Oasis in 2009 and she was the biggest and brightest back then. Thought it was fitting that we do the Icon inaugural too.

Mike6453 got a reaction from Pumpkin Rita in Icon-When will you book?
The prices are high, new class new ship....and high demand. the biggest price differences are in the suites. prices for inside rooms compared to the same time cruise on WOS seem to be about 100 to 300 more per average person for the lowest priced room while for example a grand suite priced for 15k as opposed to the same time on WOS for 7500.
Ill wait for it to be more affordable, it looks great but my budget can bring me more on other ships.

I am in the same spot with the diamond drinks and with so much time on ship and coco cay I think I might get the deluxe for me and the refreshment for my wife.

Mike6453 got a reaction from CrimsonCruiser in Boarding at a different port in the US
While I do agree that it wont work, Orlando is the second stop and after that is Miami, after Miami the ship goes to Nassau and coco cay the foreign places and then back north. in either case she has found a separate solution where she will take the older son on cruise in January by himself which happens to be 11 nights. she sees this as win win for her 🤣 🤣

I would agree, but I do know that are time when you book flights through RC that if something happens they get you to the next port, but that is through RC and part of the point of doing that.

Thanks, I checked its in person only. I think he will have to see if he can move it up or she will have to go without him.

Mike6453 got a reaction from Adriana in Port stop in Miami
I was in south beach five years ago, stayed there for a work thing, I'm from NYC so used to the high prices and definitely not a tourist mentality...lol. thanks for the great info. No just trying to decide on whether to get the deluxe drinks package....

Mike6453 got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in What Happened to Icon of the Seas?
they did say originally there would be a marketing event in NYC but that was it, I don't believe there was any mention of the homeport of the ship. They did confirm that its inaugural cruise would be out of Southampton UK. So that could have it arriving in NY/NJ or Florida.

I think we will look to get off assuming its beach weather, were not doing this cruise for the excursions or the stops in particular. still it would be nice to have a beach day. thanks for the advise.

I call that smart planning 👍, we needed a certain week on the last cruise, but we did get double points on it though.
