Audrey V. reacted to EmptyNestTravels in CVS Covid Testing Change…
Fear not! The eMed test is remarkably convenient, easy, quick, and painless. There are several videos online on how to do the test, and the proctor will walk you through the entire process. You'll just need to create an eMed and NAVICA account and log-in (laptop with a camera, tablet, or smart phone) to get started.
Here's the link to Matt's video on how to do the eMed testing:

Audrey V. reacted to twangster in Transatlantic Cruise Dining and entertainment
For entertainment that depends on the ship. Oasis class for example have more going on but they typically will perform the main shows the same number of times while the aqua and ice casts might have an ad-hoc show that isn't a published show but the cast doing some personal favorite routines.
Entertainment is complicated because they often have to build the sets around other theater uses such as destination talks, Captain's Corner, Love & Marriage, etc. They are not going to build the set for a Broadway show twice on one sailing. Once it has been used and re-stored it won't likely come out again.

Typically on a TA they will repeat some menus verbatim but in different order, or if they find themselves with excess protein of one kind or another they will produce a new menu that has one or two variations of that protein such as two chicken entrees among some other entrees.
They don't typically take repeat the same cycle of menus day 1 through 7 in exact order but they'll pick one or two from days 1 through 7 and they become day 8, then 9 and so.
So it could look like menus 1, 2 3, 4, 5 6, 7, 4, 3, 5, 2 or it could 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5, 6 ,7, 4, new menu, 4, 5, 2.
It all depends what the head chef and food and beverage manager decide to do on that sailing based on consumption trends for that crossing.

Audrey V. reacted to cdwise in Anthem OTS May 2,22
Royal posted on their blog that there will not be a surcharge. The only cancellations are Russian or Ukraine ports have other ports being substituted. Since this itinerary goes no where near those ports I doubt it will be changed. I'm not concerned about out May 15 Anthem cruise to Norway we are going after this transatlantic.

Audrey V. reacted to cdwise in Formal Nights on Anthem OTS Transatlantic May 2,2022
Transatlantic are somewhat less casual than Caribbean cruises. You don't find many in jeans and T-shirt in the dining rooms on formal night but don't expect tuxes or gowns either.

Audrey V. got a reaction from Landlocked CPA in Weird question
Some things can be ridiculously priced. I suggest at a minimum:
Meclizine or equivalent.
Pepto Bismal
Headache medicine
Bandaid and any ointment
Sunburn relief spray
Sunscreen and chapstick

Audrey V. reacted to Traveling Mike in First Transatlantic booked-tips?suggestions?
Make sure you get on both the Cruise Critic group and Facebook Groups for your cruise. The Trans-Atlantic cruises often have very active boards with planning and additional activities on sea days.

Audrey V. got a reaction from Baked Alaska in Buyer beware
You can let your new employer know you had already paid for a cruise before applying and accepting the job. Many will let you have the time off without pay or delay the start date. If you are exceptionally lucky, the new employer may advance your paid vacation time.

Audrey V. got a reaction from SemperMom in Laundry service cost
Doing a TA soon. One of the folks on the message board suggested a Clothesline. We are planning a back pack trip to Europe upon disembarkation. Plan to wash my delicates by hand, and hopefully can wear a shirt more than once. In middle school we changed out our gym clothes once a week. Kinda will feel the same.

Fort Lauderdale has very convenient port parking and it's the cheapest I know. Felt the car was safe.

Audrey V. got a reaction from Pattycruise in Friends of Bill W?
I think the term Friends of Bill W. is used on all cruises. My DH has been sober for about 15 years, and usually after a meeting or two, we meet similar couples where one maintains sobriety.

Audrey V. got a reaction from DTMCD in Honeymoon planning!
Hmmm. Florida and the Caribbean in midAugust is prime hurricane season. Still, it is a good time to visit after the afternoon rains, letting the area cool down.
You may want to go to some of the beaches for your extra time. I suggest the west coast beaches. Sanibel, Captiva and the Lee Island Coast have shelling and really good sunsets. Sarasota's Siesta Key has the best sugar sand. For quirkiness, I think Venice with its shark teeth is really cool, and it had a mid-century vibe usually only replicated at amusement parks.
