I am proud to be married for 40 years in this day and age where there is so much stress and strain on a couple to stay together let alone to remain faithful and love each other. So, yes i do enjoy announcing that we are among the few that were able to make it that long and hope for many more years together. As far as participating in the show, I have watched (On the TV when I am bored and that is the only show that broadcasts with the terrible reception) many L&M shows and with the same questions over and over being asked I wonder why anyone would want to get up on stage and share the answers?

There's a lot to unpack here. You did not mention if you are visiting all the parks at Disney or just a selected few. That is going to have impact on where you might want to stay.
If you want the benefits of Early magic hours, parking, late evening hours, early Genie+ access, etc. then you will want to stay on Disney property at one of their resorts. We usually choose the resort that is closest to where we will be spending the majority of our time. When the kids were younger, it was a resort that was close to Magic Kingdom. We chose that because 3 of those hotels (Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary) are on the monorail loop and parking is the worst (IMO) at MK. If you don't plan to visit MK, then you might select a different one.
If you want to stay off Disney property, there are a few hotels that will still give you park perks. The Dolphin/Swan/Swan Reserve all fall under that. When we sailed Wonder in July 2023, Hubby wanted to visit Hollywood Studios only and we had no kids with us. I wanted nothing to do with Disney Resorts, so the Swan Reserve was a good compromise. It kept us away from the Disney resort craziness, but we still had the perks at the parks.
If there was more info in your post, it might help others to give you better suggestions. Walt Disney World is beast and so complicated. More info is needed.
Are you travelling with kids? Will you have car? What parks do you want to visit? Do you care about the perks offered to Disney Resort guests? 

If you can afford it, there are some big advantages to staying in the park.  Disney is really 4 parks so you will definitely need to make some decisions depending on how many days you have available.

No. Your minimum cabin type would be Ocean View Balcony. Obstructed Ocean View Balcony is a lower type, so it would not be an option to assign you. In theory you could book the obstructed price and there is a small chance you could get an unobstructed ocean view balcony. With GTY, they can move you up in type but never down.

No, Royal assigns the cabin category or higher.
But not inferior.
We made 10 cruises. 5 booked without agency directly on the site in GTY.
1 only has been with an obstructed cabin... the next 2 cruises are already assigned too...

I do understand that and you're absolutely right to be proud. We're not far behind you, at 36 years.
The thing with the game show though is that, as I understand it at least, when they ask if there's anyone there who's been married x-number of years, they're essentially auditioning for participants, so that's why I don't know why you'd say something if you weren't interested in participating.
And, in fact, I do agree with you that I don't know why anyone would want to participate in it, but there always seem to be plenty who do.

I auditioned for the "Love and Marriage" Gameshow in January.  I mentioned that my wife and I just recently celebrated our 40th anniversary in September. I was then asked if my wife was present and I responded, "No, she is at home. How do you think we managed to make it to 40 years of marriage?"

 Honestly, I think that part of their system doesn’t refresh frequently enough for modern standards. However, spending money on IT improvements to quicken customers ability to see something  that isn’t time constrained sooner possibly isn’t the best use of funds. I’d argue being able to book more than four on an invoice would be preferable or at least I could argue the potential cost savings. Or in my case, simply being able to show the correct amount due on the invoice. 

I just returned from my 2 month B2B2B2B2B Mexico trip on Navigator OTS and the Baristas went way above and beyond. Needless to say, They both had a big tip Coming beyond the 18%.  I would be at the back of the line and depending on the drink (I drink Coffee Only) I wanted I would hold up 1 or 2 fingers and my drink would already be waiting for me by the time I made it to the front of the line to pay. 

My first thought upon seeing that subject line was that you could now book cruises on Amazon and I got excited (since I get 5% back on Amazon purchases)
