CruiseDiva reacted to VACruiser in RC Announced onboard protocols through April 14
If this is about a mask conversation it is nothing more than a placebo to lessen the fear of humans. The best you can get out of it is that someone your talking to won't spit on you accidentally when talking to you. How do I know, because I have to wear a mask at work at all times and this gentleman that I speak to daily at work got Covid and spread it to me. I did all the right things based upon, yea Science, and still got it.
RCL can follow the CDC guidelines to stay in business, and I'm good with that, but to say masks are the panacea for the spread of Covid is like applying a bandaid on a carotid artery bleed. It still gets around the supposed cure.
We are almost two years into this in American and a lot of the so-called people who say that they are Science act as if it is still March 2020. We've learned a lot since then but to get them to change is like getting a 5 year old to take and bath - it's difficult.

Latest poll: 70% of Americans are ready to put Covid in the rear view. Double vaxxed and boosted are getting sick too. I don’t think boosters are the answers to what appears to be the new common cold.
I’ve got 3 cruises (Caribbean, Alaska and Holy Land/Greece) through October. I’ll do the damn booster to take the 2 bucket list cruises but I’ll stop cruising after that if boosters are required year after year after year. I’ll have to retire as a brand new Diamond Plus and never get to enjoy the benefits.
70% is a pretty substantial number.

I guess I'm just too used to seeing 2000 people walking on i-35W.

CruiseDiva reacted to jticarruthers in New testing protocols starting Sept 13....
As long as the "heat damaged" test defaults to negative I'm happy ...

"Buy a drink package, get a free covid test"
The other way around works, too I guess

CruiseDiva reacted to smokeybandit in E-Visit At Home Tests Not Accepted?
So you can only use an at-home test if it's not done at home?

CruiseDiva reacted to Bob_KY in How will Covid Booster shot affect vaccination status with Royal?
Wow. I started to stress about within 3 days before set sail, have a negative COVID-19 test. NOW... I achieved fully vax status on 3 March. Cruise is 31 October, which means my booster becomes due during the cruise. I need some bourbon.. ?

CruiseDiva reacted to Marlena in Show Reservations
I may be wrong but I feel like since the restart shows are only available to book on board.
And for unvaccinated kids there are certain showtime that are open to them as well as a specific floor of the theater.

CruiseDiva reacted to SpeedNoodles in HR-4980 submitted - vaccination required to fly in US
This topic is not directly related to cruising and is clearly going to go downhill quickly. Contact your legislators with your support for, or opposition to, this bill. ?

The guy who sponsored the bill is 1 for 15 this year in getting anything advanced.

CruiseDiva reacted to VoidoftheSeas in Kids- STAR Class
We're sailing Star Class on our upcoming Allure sailing next month with our girls (7 and 9). I'll be happy to report on the experience.
However, we have flown recently, and both girls did their first plane flights pretty young. A lot depends on the length of the flight. If you're only on the plane for a couple of hours, it's not so bad, and there will be enough happening that they won't get bored. Longer flights are harder, and I highly recommend picking up some snacks at the airport gift shop and to be prepared with coloring books.
They may experience some preflight and takeoff anxiety (our kids were split there - our oldest has no problem with flying), so this will probably be the most challenging part.

CruiseDiva got a reaction from 12thman in 1br AquaTheater suite open 17-24 April 2022 on Oasis- Western Caribbean open
Hey there 12thman. I haven't stayed in this type of suite yet. We were going to try it out for that reason though. We got cancelled on the Odyssey in a Star Class suite and jumped when I saw one open up on this sailing.

CruiseDiva reacted to Blue Waters in Not liking this Delta variant surge
I have 2 friends currently sick (unrelated to each other) with covid, they got fully vaccinated with Pfizer months ago. One is in the hospital and the other had to go to the ER yesterday and got hooked up to an iv drip. He said he never felt so sick in his entire life. We live in the Tampa Bay area, FL.
Adventure of the Seas had two families with covid on board last week, they had to get off in Cozumel and taken by an ambulance.
My husband and I used to live on RC ships full time for 3 years pre-covid, traveling with them all over the world. I was really hoping that we can get back to our real life by now. We have 38 cruises booked, starting on August 8. We are young and healthy but we are not sure if this is the right time for us to return cruising. Which is really devastating. The last thing I want is to get covid on a cruise ship and not let back to the US. That is a very scary thought.

CruiseDiva got a reaction from cruisellama in Passports: up to 18 weeks for new or renewal
I'm in the same boat. 11yr old's passport expires in Feb 2022 and have an April 2022 cruise on the Oasis. I went to schedule the appt to do in person and they are scheduling 4 weeks out. So 4+18= RIDICILOUS!!! Good luck to all ?
