No clue. I was asking @JLMoran and @twangster the same thing today for myself. Not for Thanksgiving 2022 bit for the Winter 2022/Spring 2023 release dates. Maybe @Matt has some guesses or @Sharla? ?

No idea- it just says "soon". Part of me wonders if it will just be a while because they are trying to figure out redeployments and stuff, but I just don't know.

Sadly we had the same. We had 2 rooms next to each other, but on our shifted cruise they are about 10 rooms between us. Was quite disappointing as we wanted to open up the balcony.

And one of the silliest issues with lift and shift is you can't even agree to downgrade for the same price. If we wanted to go from our ocean view with large balcony to a regular balcony ocean view it was gonna cost us 1300$ extra.

Can you change your staterooms? Same category but just change the rooms. That shouldn't affect the price at all.

  3. Same itinerary, and same number of nights for Lift and Shift.

I am not sure how it works on the consumer site but on the travel agent side of things we can input the reservation number and it gives us an option of which ships and dates would be eligible for L&S. I'm sure you could do something similar if you booked on your own.

Royal Caribbean almost always announces at the end of the day. I would expect it between 4:30 or 5:00 today or tomorrow, but for sure December will be cancelled. They have to do so much before they can allow guests onboard.

Ok they announced it at 4:00 today, they must have seen my prediction and wanted to beat me to it! ?

Just to start emphatically state they should not plan on purchasing you a cabin gift. I want my MEI guru to keep ALL of the tiny stipend she receives for my booking. Inquire if and when they are sailing and then call RCCL and purchase her a surprise gift if possible, a bottle of champagne perhaps?

I am sure though recommendations of their outstanding services and warm assistance to your friends and family for future bookings would be appreciated all the more.

    Question

Will C&A members have access before 11/16?

Great question!  Curious minds need to know....

    @Sharla @michelle?

I don't think so- I've never seen it.

Remember it's sometime that week, not necessarily on the date it has on the flyer- typically it's on the Wednesday of that week, but it could be any time.

Was this the morning that the offer was first announce.  They were very confused that first day, that is putting it mildly.  Royal kept changing their terms and conditions all day long.  I am pretty sure that by the end of day, what they told you in the screen shot does not apply.  You can still receive the double points even with the C&A discount.  But we'll see if @Matt or @Sharla or @michelle can confirm.

This is my first post after signing up, love the blog and the podcast!

I had booked a cruise onboard in 2019 for October 2020. Obviously this was cancelled and i have since lifted and shifted this to October 2021. When i saw the double points offer i contacted RCL, via there FB page, and they confirmed my cruise qualified for double points!  I asked what the criteria was to "qualify" and they mentioned something about a CAS discount not having been applied but it didn't make much sense to me (see screenshot). My advice would be to simply contact them on FB and provide them your reservation number and they can tell you if you qualify or not.

I think most cruises will qualify at this point, no matter the discount. You're correct, @Lovetocruise2002, because they kept changing things so often the first couple of days no one was sure. But David I think yours will qualify!

Just looked up my Freedom cruise for November 2021 and is now showing switched to Explorer and doubled the price. In the email I got telling me my cruise was switched it said the price would be matched to when I booked would carry over. I guess I'll sit on hold for hours to get the price match back. My wife and I were really looking forward to being back on Freedom again.

It should adjust automatically in a day or two. And, another plug for using a travel agent because they'll make sure it's correct for you!

On our Alaska sailing, there are three of us who have sailed before with RCG and already have our C&A number. My son's buddy will be sailing for the first time. Will he get quad points or single points? Or, will this be like business as usual for his C&A activity? Can I set up a C&A number for him BEFORE we sale? Or is it moot? @Sharla what do you think?

Get him one- I don't know yet on this but it won't hurt to have one for him. Then send it to me and we'll see what happens!

  10. How I'm reading it is if you have a special rate that's not just their regular rates you don't get the double points. So if you're in a group but not paying group rates you will still get the points. Sometimes we can add people to groups even at FIT prices because there are bonuses (OBC for example) so I believe those count.

And it's not double points for everything- it's double for most rooms, but suites are 3 points per night not 4.
