We paid $58 on the Black Friday deal for our Dec 20th cruise on Adventure. No regrets but I don’t think I’d be willing to pay over $60 for it in the future.

One note I'd like to make for others considering Royal Up right now is to look at what it will cost you to just upgrade your room immediately without having to bid. For us, the minimum bid for a balcony room was $100/pp when upgrading from an interior guarantee. We were able to upgrade to a balcony room without bidding for $104/pp. $8 difference and knowing we definitely had the upgraded room was a no brainer for us. We also ended up getting 1688 on Adventure which was awesome and definitely made the upgrade worth it.

I agree. I was on the same sailing and I was thoroughly impressed with the cooperation of the passengers and the staff being patient yet firm on the mask requirement. 
We had a great time even though we were worried about the mask policies when the announcement came out Friday afternoon.

Actually I have found that many times I have to enter it twice to get the offer.  So like so many other things at RCCL.  If you don't like the first answer, ask again.

I have had a different experience than others sailing right now on Adventure. The line to get into Windjammer does get a little busy but it moves quick. Easy to find chairs on the upper deck (not right by the pool, which is fine) that overlook the pool.
My biggest complaint is it seems the ship shuts down around 10:30 pm. The ship is like a ghost town after that with just a few people at each bar. Of course places are still open, but everyone is in their rooms instead. Likely due to the mask mandate of wearing it at all times inside, at least that is my guess. I wish they’d keep the pool bars open later during the indoor mask mandate.  

To me it’s about having more options. Sometimes you just want a quick bite for dinner or if you don’t feel like dressing as nice as you normally would for the main dining room. 

ANYWAY, we’re on Mariner now ……. At least on this ship, that email they sent Friday was greatly exaggerated ……. Maybe to appease the CDC ……… nobody has masks on once sitting in bars, restaurants, or clubs and haven’t seen anybody asking them to put them back on.  Have also seen quite a few people have walking around the promenade with no masks on as well and haven’t seen anybody say anything to them.
We were told there are 2,700 passengers on the ship of which right at 700 are kids.
 

I would also like to point out that Royal Caribbean has posted absolutely nothing about this new requirement on social media, and it is very well hidden on their website. This is a lack of transparency to their customers which is where I have an issue with it. Typically, these announcements are on the front page of the site and posted on their social media platforms. Very odd and off character for the company.

Supposedly Royal Caribbean is reaching out to customers affected. Well, my sailing leaves Monday which means my 48 hours to cancel would be tomorrow - and I received no notice of this whatsoever until viewing this site. Has anyone actually received a notification BEFORE their 48 hours was up? Just curious. I completely understand the need to up the requirements, but not being transparent with the customers until it is too late is unacceptable.

I am curious about Adventure staff.
I read on another post that another ship is requesting masks be worn between sips of your drink or bites of your food. Is that true on your sailing as well? 

$8 more here..but guess who forgot to book it at the lower price a few weeks ago..Lol. And my cruise is in less than a month, so I guess I’m paying the extra.

Couldn’t agree more. The sale is extremely disappointing. 
 
DBP has been $50 in every sale this year for my sailing. Missed buying it by an hour last sale. This “sale” it is $58.

This is my thought as well. If I don't have to wear one in my cabin or in outdoor areas, I'm happy wearing one inside. 

Exciting news, and I personally like the vaccination rule - if that's what it takes to start cruising again, I'm in. I understand the frustration for those who don't want the vaccine (or can't get it yet, like myself) though.

My 2 cents!!

I'm curious if the people who have severe reactions to the vaccine are the same people who would've had a severe reaction to covid if they got it. That might explain why the reactions vary by person.
 
I'll get the vaccine once I'm eligible, not just to cruise but for my own peace of mind. Several family members are fully vaccinated and had no side effects other than the sore arm, which appears to be universal to nearly everybody who gets it.
